My wife and I greatly enjoyed the day trip to Sintra. Pena Castle is awesome, and not to be missed. The drive was not too long, our guide was very knowledgeable, lunch was pleasant, and we also enjoyed about an hour of personal time. We highly recommend it. One note, you must "reconfirm" tours with Viator in Lisbon the day before, and ask by phone where they will pick you up.

It was great, my wife and I really had a great time. I like the orginization the staff has as well as the routes that the tour takes stopping along in small places to the destinations. I have seen this around the places in the world I have used this services in Viator._br/_ Excellent job, I will use this again definetely.

This is an excellent day trip from Lisbon, although it does not match the Viator description. You start at Pena Palace, a fascinating combination of 16th-century monastery and 19-century palace, and continue to Sintra for an excellent lunch, with time to tour Sintra Palace on your own.

The rainy and foggy day made this tour not so enjoyable but anyway it was possible to observe the beauties of Sintra pictouresque downtown including the 1 Euro tasting of gingihas, for which some shops while provide a detailed explanation of the wide variety of port wines and jinjihas.

First and foremost, I was very disappointed with the booking as I didn't receive the contact info for where to meet the tour group and because we weren't at a hotel, they would not pick us up. I had to make several calls and I was told by a Viator rep and the tour company in Lisbon that they would email me the information for where to meet and I never received the email. I then spoke with a Chris at Viator who forwarded me the information. The guide spoke in Portuguese first, Spanish second and then in English. Good thing I understand Spanish, because she left out a lot of the info in her English translation.

The place was very nice to see, especially the Pena palace, but the guide did not give us enough time to look around the rooms, was rushing and even skept some nice rooms. At the same time on the way back to Lisbon, we stopped in a little town, next to the Casino and spent about 20 minutes for nothing. This was just waste of time._br/_ The lunch was OK, but before lunch the guide asked me and my friend to show our Voucher s (which was taken from us during the boarding the bus). Then she said she will call to check if we paid for lunch. (of corse, we did) This wasn't nice.

The tour guide's English needs a lot improvement. The English version of guide tends to be really short. And, I could not undertstand most of what he was saying.

Although the palace was a bit small, it was still worth visiting. The coastline was beautiful and worth seeing.

Disappointed. Tour guide gave full explanations in Portuguese and Spanish but very short reviews in English. Trip was well organized and the included lunch was good.

The trip itself and guide were quite good. The tour bus is excellent: mosern and roomy (but no rest room). I would suggest less time for lunch in Sintra and perhaps adding another site to tour, or more time in Cais-Cais or Estoril (we were given only 15 minutes in the former and none in the latter). The reason I gave this only 4 stars and not 5 is that the organization has absolutely no customer service available on Sundays (not even the "Emergency phone number" answers on Sunday) -- and we needed vital info on Sunday for our Monday trip. A professional organization must provide SOME access on Sundays as well!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day. The arrangements from hotel pick up to return went without a hitch. And our tour guide was really excellent - switching effortlessly from English to Portuguese to Spanish, very informative, and patient! We enjoyed the lunch too. We will strongly recommend this trip to our friends._br/_ PS Our congratulations to Sr Pinto, our driver. How he manoeuvres that bus through those narrow streets is a mistery to me....

Sorry we cannot say the 8 hr. Sintra trip was worth the cost. Having to give commentary in 4 languages meant that the guide's commentary was not in depth. The chicken lunch was not what we expected, nor did we expect to pay extra for lunch beverages, including water. A tour usually depends on the rapport and enthusiasm of the guide, There was little of either from ours.

This trip was well worth every penny! From start to finish a truly magical time. The guide was witty and informative being knowledgeable about the palace and surrounding area. We were captivated by the palace. Sintra was picturesque, lunch scrummy. The coastal run made me nostalgic for Cornwall being every bit as lovely. This was a trip well worth taking.

My wife and I really enjoyed this day tour. It included lunch and I believe this is a great deal along with the amazing places we visited. The tour guide was very informed and professional. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal for the first time. I will definitely take more tours with Viator. I was impressed with the way they organized the tour which went very smoothly from the time they picked us up from our hotel until they dropped us back close to the hotel.

Awesome day, beautiful sights and the lunch was top notch, only criticism was the commentary was split between English and Spanish and the guide seemed fascinated by various casinos and old casinos along the way. Highly recommended. Great sights, no rush, a nice day out!

Although we started off by spending 50 minutes in the van to collect people (we should have just taken a metro ride to the starting point), the trip turned out just fine. The guide (Dora) was knowledgeable and personable, the sights were worth seeing, and the lunch was good. We spent just the right time in each place, and there was no wasted time in shopping stops enroute.

Most enjoyable day with multiple stops at the Castle of Penne, Sintra, Cabo de Raco, and Cascius. Our guide was most knowledgeable and shared excellent and entertaining information at each venue. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in witnessing the beautiful scenery and rich history consistent with this area of Portugal just outside of Lisbon.

This was the worst tour company I have worked with. I booked my Sintra day trip and when they picked me up they had oversold the tour and tried putting me on another tour and then tried telling me that was the tour I booked with them even though I had my receipt. This was not a good experience with them and I would hesitate to book again through Viator.

I thought what you got to see was awesome, but too much time was spent at the castle Pena. I think if we didn't have such a guided tour room by room in 3 languages there, we could have spent that time wondering around Cascais some, because it looked really cute there. The lunch was awesome, but no drinks including water were included.

The Palacio de Pena is indeed a fairytale palace coloured in hews of terracotta, ochre and yellow! It was very pleasant spending time in the village of Sintra, some great shots just calling out to be taken! We had a really sunny day for the trip so Cabo da Roca the most western point in Europe was simply stunning. Guide informative and pleasant.

Tour company awful, and tour not as interesting as some others. Guide could not keep group together and as a result most of us missed at least half of the information. Five languages in the group, which was not effective. Tram portion a waste of time. Bus uncomfortable, driver had heat and fans on at same time. Tour company disorganized. Extremely disappointing experience.
