England in One Day Trip

London, United Kingdom

Take a trip through the English countryside on a day trip from London to Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds. You'll combine vibrant history, gorgeous scenery and sightseeing at some of Britain's most popular attractions. Your tour includes an exclusive visit to Shakespeare's birthplace, with champagne and strawberry scones served in his picturesque garden.

Stonehenge
Your first stop is Stonehenge, the most popular prehistoric monument in the world. You'll marvel at the huge stones that were brought from Preseli mountains, over 280 miles (450 kilometers) away, and discover the mysteries surrounding the slaughter stone and earth barrows, where the late-Stone Age Beaker people lie buried.

Bath
After traveling across the Salisbury Plain, you'll take a guided tour of Jane Austen's birthplace, Bath. It's a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage listed Georgian town with delightful crescents, terraces and architecture.

Cotswolds
Heading north to Stratford, your journey takes you through the heart of the Cotswolds, taking in breathtaking views of open countryside criss-crossed by dry stone walls and bustling market towns with magnificent churches.

Stratford upon Avon
Birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford is a charming market town set in the heart of rural England. A delightful river winds its way through the town, past the beautiful Holy Trinity church, where Shakespeare lies buried.

Special Offer - FREE garden reception at Shakespeare's birthplace with champagne and strawberry scones (Summer Only) - Book Now!

This was an amazing tour. It was a long day but seeing so many fascinating sites was so worth it. Stonehenge is still such a mystery, Bath is a typical countryside town and Stratford on the Avon is brimming with history. Great tour and the tour guide, Sev, was so knowledgeable and friendly. She really helped elevate the tour to higher level.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip especially thanks to the enthusiasm and humor of our guide. We practically had Stonehenge to ourselves since we departed early from London. The visit to Bath and the Jane Austen museum was simply delightful. Would have liked spending a little more time in Stratford, but it is understandable that on a tour running on such a tight schedule as this one, time limitations are needed. Overall, we were very satisfied and had a wonderful day!

Absolutely brilliant day. A wonderfully talented, eccentric and inspirational tour guide (DAVID) made this tour very, very special. Highly recommended and request David as your tour guide. You will see what I mean.....just fantastic. C

A fantastic day made great by our wonderful guide David. The commentary made each visit interesting even for my children. It was a huge day but definitely consider it if you are only in London for a short time.

Our tour was cancelled because we were the only two signed up for it. We were offered an alternate tour that worked out quite well. We enjoyed the tour. It was well organized and well timed.

The two star rating does not reflect the England in One Day Trip. When I got to Victoria Station the morning of my tour, I was told it had been cancelled due to too few people signing up. I was not notified prior (and had only booked the week before I went on the day trip) so had to make a decision on the spot and went on their Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath day trip. It was OK. We were rushed all day long, so as someone who wants to experience and take everything in, doing those three activities in one day is too much. We weren't able to wander through Windsor Castle for one hour - we had 45 minutes. I feel we had enough time at Stonehenge - around one hour and we were only one hour and 15 minutes in Bath - not enough time to go through the Roman Baths and have extra time to wander through that beautiful city. I again want to emphasize that this is not a rating of the England in One Day Trip - however I warn others who book the tour that apparently it may get cancelled and you won't know until the day of! Be prepared to maybe needing to make some quick decisions.

We had a good time on this tour. It started off early at 0815 but, you were on the bus and could nap on the way to Stonehenge. The guide was great, his older years shown through with so much knowledge and side facts that you might not get with younger guides. He, Paul, was disaplinned (sp?) and kept everyone in line, thankfully. "Be back at X and no later" I like the old guy. Going on to Stratford was neat, I would like to return someday there. The driver was a good gal as well. She drove safely and well. I would definitely do this tour again or recommend it.

Excellent. A scene from 'Much ado about nothing' was brilliant indeed. Portrayal of characters was enjoying. Both deserve commendation. Despite time constraint, the tour to Stratfort will remain a memorable one for years to come. The lady tour guide kept the travellers in a jolly mood throughout. The pilot of the bus was also very cooperative. Both deserve appreciation. God bless them.

In Cotswolds we just saw a few houses from the bus and never got off. You shouldn't include Cotswolds on your site. We were really looking forward to visiting Cotswolds.

limited time in each place, got yelled at if we were one minute late, the tour didnt stop at cottswolds therefore this shouldn't be advertised. The house you see on the left was seen in 1 second on the bus with no stopping. usually i dont have any problems with viator but was deeply dissapointed in this tour

We really enjoyed this trip. Our guidewas knowledgeable, telling us all we needed to know, yet kept quiet at other times, allowing us to take in the countryside. Bath was excellent and we really could have spent more time there and less at Stratford on Avon. Both places were enjoyable.

Fantastic tour guide who provided so much information and had everyone laughing at times. It was obvious he loved his job which made our tour quite enjoyable. We got to all the sites with plenty of time in each place. It was paced perfectly and we avoided all the tourist lines since everything was booked for us.

Overall, not a bad trip. It was rushed due to a late start so we could only spend about 45min at Stonehenge, which really was not much time (sounds like long enough, but trust me, it is not even close after you park and make your way to the site). Same issue with Bath, beautiful city, just not enough time to look around. If you are looking for a taste of each of these places, great, but if you are like me and really like to look around and not be rushed, consider the longer, dedicated trips to these places.

A memorable and much-recommended trip! The guide was too chatty for my liking, but still tolerable. As the trip covers a lot of ground, we werent left with enough time to see Bath. Our bus got stuck in traffic and we ended up being dropped off in London a bit later than expected. One learns a lot by having a guide on the bus. But if you have the time, and a car, try driving to Bath and Stonehenge by yourself to have more time to discover the place. All in all, our trip was very enjoyable and good value for money. We had a lovely time.

This was a very good, informative tour with a good tour guide. the only problem that I had with the tour was that at the end of it, 8:30pm we were dropped off "in London" not close to our pickup point or our hotel. We were unsure of our surroundings in a strange town with only verbal directions from the tour guide as to how to get to our hotel. Otherwise, we were completely satisfied. Need to work on the drop off points for these tours.

No one picked me up at the hotel. I was waiting for 30 min. I called the tour office, but I had to go to Victoria station by myself by cab and was told "we cannot do anything even if you miss the coach." You did not pick me up and just blamed me. I had really bad day. I also e-mailed the tour office after the tour, however no one has replyed to me. very bad manner. The tour guide was good though.

We had wonderful weather and Stonehenge was fabulous. We didn't have enough time in Bath to see the Roman baths but we gave it a speed walk which was a little disappointing. Stratford was very nice and the champagne and scone was a nice touch. The only very disconcerting aspect of the trip was the dropping off. We were let off near our hotel, but our guide wasn't so kind to our English nonspeaking travel mates. He dumped them in the middle of London and pointed them to a bus stop. I felt very sorry for them as it was obvious they were confused. Premier should admonish our tour guide for not giving them a little extra care.

This was a great trip and well worth the price we paid. Our tour guide was Paul and he was excellent! We saw so much in one day. Especially if you have limited time in London, this is a great way to see a little bit of the rest of England. I not only have visited London but can now also check Stratford, Bath and Stonehenge off my list as well. We highly recommend this excursion.

Enjoyed our guide John reciting Shakespeare's sonnets with a Dublin accent. Stonehenge and Bath were wonderful. It's a long drive to Stratford-upon-Avon, one might want to take the Stonehenge and Bath tour and see more of Bath. Overall an excellent experience. I will recommend it to others.

A good way of taking in three sites in one day. The trip was well organized and we liked our guide, whose descriptions added to our appreciation of the places we visited. It is a bit hurried but that's unavoidable given the amount of driving around involved! We had about half an hour at Stonehenge which was more than enough especially in the cold. At Bath, we had enough time to visit the Roman baths and get lunch some people may decide to skip the baths and see more of the town. At Stratford, we enjoyed the tour of Shakespeare's home and also had some time to walk around the neighborhood a bit. Overall, it's a good experience, just keep in mind that, because of the time limitations, you're not going to get a comprehensive look at Bath or Stratford!

It was a WONDERFUL day! I really enjoyed myself with just a few things I would have changed. The majority of our time we spent in Bath, and that was by far the most boring. We didn't see Austen's birthplace, just walked around the city. I would have loved to had time to see Shakespeare's grave or have had more than just a few minutes in the birthplace gift shop.

We had a guide who besides humour had a vast amount of knowledge. We learned things we would never had read in any books and also many tips that were useful during that day and the rest of our stay. For an one day trip this was quite enough and still we were back in London in time for dinner.
