Leeds Castle Private Viewing, Canterbury and Greenwich Day Trip from London

London, United Kingdom

Leave the hurly-burly of London for the day and tour the highlights of Kent. You'll have an exclusive private viewing of Leeds Castle, dubbed the loveliest castle in the world. You'll also tour the famous cathedral city of Canterbury, have lunch overlooking the famous White Cliffs of Dover, visit historic Greenwich, then cruise back to London in the early evening.

Leeds Castle
Your tour of Kent begins with a private viewing of Leeds Castle before it opens to the public. Explore the chapel, galleries, courtyards and banqueting hall before taking time to enjoy the landscape and wildlife.

White Cliffs of Dover
Take a scenic drive along the old coastal road for lunch (additional cost) in the historic Lighthouse Inn, dramatically overlooking the White Cliffs of Dover. Lunch includes traditional British fare such as fish and chips, and bread and butter pudding (from November to March lunch will be in Canterbury with no stop in Dover).

Canterbury
Canterbury has been the center of Christian worship for almost 1,700 years. The cathedral was one of the most important medieval pilgrimage sites in Europe, immortalized by Geoffrey Chaucer in The Canterbury Tales. Your tour includes entrance to the cathedral, with free time to explore the old town.

Greenwich
With exquisite parks, gardens and architecture, Greenwich has strong connections with the sea, science, sovereigns and time

After your walking tour of Greenwich you'll take a Thames River cruise back to London, passing such sights as the Tower of London, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament, before arriving at Westminster pier.

I was quite disappointed in this day tour. The itinerary initially drew me in but the execution of it was poorly accomplished. _br/_ The tour guide we had at Leed's Castle did not speak good English and was difficult to understand. It seemed that our tour of the castle went on a bit long because of this and then there wasn't any time to explore the grounds or get souveniers._br/_ Then because we raced out of there so quickly we apparently had extra time and so the tour guide stopped along the way to Dover at a memorial. I would rather have had more time at Leed's Castle or Canterbury. In Dover, we did nothing! Because we didn't want the add-on lunch we were left to sit on the rocky beach and wait for the others to have lunch. There's no reason a non-lunch and lunch tour should be combined. Why didn't the guide take us up to Dover castle while the other ate? Instead we were left with nothing to do! _br/_ In Canterbury or time was quite limited as well so we could get to Greenwich, which was a complete joke. We spent most of the time on the bus while they found a place to stop and then we raced around the block to the boat down the Thames. For me this was a wasted day on my trip. I was very dissappointed.

The trip was worth it. The castle is beautiful and the Cathedral is amazing - the only down is we were pretty far away from the White Cliff then I thought we'd be. The boat ride at the end was a nice touch. I enjoyed myself alot.

This time of the year there were really no lines but the trip was nice and the bus was comfortable and clean. It gets dark soooo early in the winter so some of the sight seeing was after dark and that was a little disappointing. I think we should have been told that some of the sightseeing would be done after sunset. The guides were good and informative.

Everything was great, except the final boat tour of the trip had to be cancelled. Our guide was fantastic and the group had plenty of time at each destination to venture off on their own and check out the venues. The tour wasn't restricting at all, and it was very informative!

We were very unhappy to find that they had booked our tour of Leeds Castle on a day when it was full of people arranging flowers for another event. We didn't get to experience the castle at it's best by any means. Had we known we would have postponed and gone another time. Also, it was advertised as a "private viewing" but they let the public in during our tour, so we had non-tour people joining our group which made it even harder to see what the guide was telling us about. Also, they split our group into two (because of the crush) and we had to go through the rooms backwards chronologically - so it made even less sense! It was not a nice experience. Lunch in Dover was a snooze. Canterbury Cathedral was amazing but we were told very little about the history of the cathedral and nothing about the town prior to our arrival. Barry, our guide spent most of his time on the long ride to Dover talking about the Battle of Britain which, while interesting, was not what we were there to experience - he didn't give a whole lot of background on the rest of the historic sites. Finally, we saw very little of Greenwich, and what sounded like a lovely ride back on the Thames was basically a water taxi with muffins and cheap champagne thrown in.

Although the places were beautiful, the company did not cover the expectations. they forgot to pick me up from the hotel, even when i called twice to confirm. at the end I needed to pay a cab to go to Victoria station an catch up with the tour. The guide, although he was very knowledgeable of the history and geography, he was rude, not attentice and he was not political correct with his comments. at the end of the tour we ended up escorting two ladies that were told from the company that were going to be transported to their hotels and were left at a subway station without knowing were to go. i will recomment the trip with other tour providor.

Premium Tours was so so --- the guide was, at times, a bit over the top. But the White cliffs and all were great. Leeds beautiful and Canterbury memorable.

A lovely daytrip: we learnt a lot about England by having such a lovely guide! The trip started late and also covers a lot of ground, and we felt a bit rushed towards the end (trough Greenwich). Canterbury Cathedral was also closed without prior notice. But I can still recommend the trip to anyone who wants to discover more of England and has only a short time to see it in!

Great job except for the time in Greenwich. We saw one building that the guide liked and not the real reason the cite is important.

The tour was excellent. The guide, Paul, was extremely personable, very informative about the attractions themselves and the areas visited in general. The day was very relaxed and finishing with the Thames cruise a winner.

The castle itself was not my favorite castle I have seen while touring England, but our guide, Jason, was the best of all of our tour guides during our stay. We thought that he was very professional, and provided so much useful and interesting information, without tainting it with dirty stories as our other guides, from a competitor's tour company did, unfortunately. Jason was our favorite! Thanks!

Leeds castle was a nice example of an ancient building updated to this century's needs. The boat ride at the end of the tour wasn't impressive.

Our guide was wonderful; she was friendly and gave us a lot of information about the sites we were seeing. My only complaint is that we wasted time on the beach at Dover when we could have spent more time at Canterbury instead of feeling rushed. The bus was clean and comfortable.

Steve was a very good guide, Enthusiastic and talkative. Leeds Castle was a disapointment as most of the castle was renovated in recent centuries, albeit tastefully. Dover was a pretty place for lunch, but there are more eating opportunities than just the hotel that the tour limits you to. Canterbury Cathedral was the highlight of the day. Greenwich was just a place to transfer to the boat. Overall, i would NOT do this tour again.

The trip was fine but the tour guide was terrible. On the way back he left behind two people because they were late boarding the bus by 2 minutes. He had a very negative outlook. He is too old and grouchy!! You should consider dropping this guy!

The entire tour was a great experience in which we loved the time at Leeds Castle the most. Not to forget the guide of the tour Steev, who really was an encyclopedia. It would have been perfect if we were able to see the greenwich museum also but couldn't help since it was closed on the day we visited. The rain at the end of the journey (during the river cruise) did made some difficulties for us (since we were with a baby with 2 1/2 yrs) but should say didn't hamper the fun and experience in any ways. Finally a special thanks to the guys of the tour coach company who helped me to catch the coach as I was late to the departing point on that day. We would have missed this great tour if not for those guys who drove me in their vehicle till we reached the touring party. All in all it was a great experience!!!

Really enjoyed this tour! David was our tour guide and he knew everything about everything we saw, I learned so much from him and you can tell he really loved what he does. I didn't feel rushed at all on this tour except in Canterbury, but that was our fault for trying to squeeze in a nice dinner when we only had an hour to spare, so I recommend only getting a quick bite. All of the sites were absolutely gorgeous and very memorable. I highly recommend booking this tour!

Very informative guide; nice lunch; kept to schedule well; comfortable bus and good driver. wish we had had more time in Canterbury and a bit more time at Leeds Castle. spent too much time in the maze at the Castle; that time could better have been used in Canterbury or in the interior of the Castle.

This was a great trip and I highly recommend it to those who have a limited amount of time to see just as much as possible of that part of England. Leeds Castle is beautiful even in the rain!. Our lunch was very nice. Canterbury Cathedral is a must for anyone interested in British history andor literature. The short visit to Greenwich was long enough, and the sunset cruise back to London was nice however, the scones turned into blueberry muffins somehow. All in all--good trip!!!

The day was long but well worth it. We enjoyed the private tour of Leeds Castle before the general public and the early entry at the other sites including the boat. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the sites and prepared us before we arrived at the sites. The time spent at each site was just about right for all, and the group was about 25 people.

This was an excellent tour! It was rainy the day we took the tour, but that made it feel more like jolly old England. Leeds Castle was wonderful and the private tour made it even better-no crowds to deal with. Lunch at the white cliffs of Dover was realy neat-even through the fog. Cantebury Church was unbelieveable, and the Greenwich boat ride back to the London Eye gave us a super view of the city.
