Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath Day Trip from London

London, United Kingdom

From famous Salisbury and Stonehenge to the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, you'll see it all on a cultural day trip from London. The tour includes travel by luxury coach and guided tours of Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and the Roman Baths. There is also free time to explore Bath at your own pace.

Salisbury
You will start the day visiting the beautiful town of Salisbury which is world famous for its 750-year-old cathedral, boasting the tallest spire in England. Admission is included to the cathedral and you will have two hours to spend discovering this captivating town.

Stonehenge
Traveling even further back in time through the rolling Wessex landscape, you will arrive in Stonehenge. Who dragged these massive stones to this lonely plain near Salisbury 5,000 years ago, and why? These questions have haunted the minds of centuries of scholars. You will have the opportunity to walk around these magical stones and contemplate the landscape in which they were erected so many centuries ago.

Bath
Your final stop is Bath, famous for its elegant Georgian architecture. You'll take a panoramic tour of Bath, passing Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge (modeled on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence) and the town's perfectly proportioned Georgian crescents. You will also visit the Roman Baths, the best preserved Roman spa from the ancient world, stunningly restored during the Victorian era. You'll have time to shop and explore Bath's compact and largely pedestrianized city center at your leisure.

Our tourguide was great. We really enjoyed the trip and felt that we learned a lot about the history of the locations. Our guide did a great job of talking about the locations on the bus before we reached them so that we didn't feel like we were going in blind. He also did a great job of making the trip entertaining for everyone. Our only issue was figuring out exactly where we were supposed to meet the bus in the morning, but we gave ourselves plenty of time and were able to ask a couple of different people for directions and eventually found it. Overall, we had a really good time and would definitely recommend it.

Was great trip - but could have stayed in Bath longer than 1.5 hour; the actual coach trip itself was a bit long. Maybe only Stonehenge and Bath alone would be better.

We had the best tour guide ever! His name is Phil and he really knows his stuff. The tour was great but more time should be allowed especially in Bath for more sight seeing and shopping. Thanks for a wonderful day!

The guide, Daniel, was excellent, well versed in the history of the areas we visited, well organized, friendly and prompt. Attention needs to be given to allowing more time on the 3 stops to make the trip really memorable.

A very enjoyable and site-packed day tour. I did feel a little hurried on the short stop at Stonehenge. I would rather have spent less time in Salisbury, and more time in Bath and at Stonehenge. Still, this was a good "introduction" to all 3 locations. I'd like to return to all 3 places on my own someday, and spend more time at each.

A thoroughly enjoyable day trip. The drive to Bath was lovely and the Roman baths were fascinating. Stonehenge is a definite must-see attraction. My highlight was Salisbury Cathedral, which is an engineering masterpiece and absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this tour.

This was a great combination of sites. Kevin, our tour guide was really informative and even suggested the perfect dinner place back in London after the tour. I only wish we had an extra hour to wonder around the enchanting city of Bath!

A good day, however with all day tours you could use a bit more time in Bath and Stonehenge. However this is a good tour to do and an easy way to get around to have a look at these sites.

This is the 2nd time I took this trip. I do enjoy it all the time. Bath is wonderful city and I was glad that this time around the tour should us the famous house/apt building. They gave us enough time to enjoy Bath but still it was not enough. It was just a wonderful city. Of course seeing Stonehenge and Salisbury again was a bonus.

good driver, very good tour guide, bus in very good condition. Could have used a little extra time in Bath, but we were all tired by the time we got back to London. Good instructions on getting back to our hotel.

The sites are oustanding hiwver the time alloted at each site is very little. The tour description should be more transparent to this so that travelers can make better choices, Had I know I would have chosen only two sites and more time.

My Husband and I really enjoyed this tour. Because these sites were a couple of hrs outside of London, it limited our time at each location. I would loved to spend more time in Bath which is a beautiful city. Finding our tour bus at Victoria Coaches station was kind of a mess and it was a little disorganized but we made it and our guide Phil was fantastic. He gave great suggestions are where to get good British food. We took one of his suggestions for dinner that night and wasn't disappointed. Overall I enjoyed the tour however it doesn’t exactly match the description on the Viator site. For example, it said you would have 2 hrs to explore Salisbury and we only had about 1 and 15 mins and the bit about “You'll have time to shop and explore Bath's compact and largely pedestrianized city center at your leisure” wasn’t very accurate either. After the Roman Baths, I think we had about 20 mins left to grab food from a food cart and start heading back to the bus. We had about an hour at Stonehenge which was plenty of time to walk around the stones once and enjoy the scenes and listen to the audio tour at a nice leisurely pace. Again, I still enjoyed the tour, just wish there was more time.

I loved the whole day! Stonehenge is just as mysterious and fascinating as always! Bath was so beautiful, and there was so much to take in! Salisbury Cathedral, and the little town surrounding it, was amazing and beautiful! The only thing was that I felt rushed, particularly at Bath! Of course it is understandable within our time frame of the trip, but I felt I needed longer here! Perfect amount of time at Stonehenge, and NEARLY perfect amount of time to explore Salibury Cathedral!_br/_ Overall, Very enjoyable and the audio guides are well worth it, very informative! Just make sure to bring a fully charged camera... you will need it!

This trip was amazing. I loved Bath and Stonehenge. I only wish that we had had more time in Bath, my suggestion would be to cut out Salisbury and focus primarily on Bath and Stonehenge. It would give more time in Bath to experience the Museum and the town, instead of having to choose one or the other. The guide and the driver were wonderful!

I' would have liked more time at each stop. And I would have preferred a hotel drop-off as a bus picked us up us early in the morning, or as close as possible, not so far (Victoria Station).

Glad we went and got to see the countryside. The tour guide was funny and provided lots of great commentary. Loved Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge was okay. A big pile of rocks in the middle of nowhere and the guide made it interesting.

Too little time, we spent more time on the bus than at the 3 far flung places. No toilet on bus so at each stop you head straight for the toilet wasting valuable sightseeing time. Don't bother with the audio tours they slow you down and you wont have time to listen to them. you dont get any time to see Bath itself only what you see from the bus and 1hr 15mins in the roman Baths is not enough. You only see the Cathedral in Salisbury which again you have to rush around to be back on the bus in time. If you really want to do this tour then take a packed lunch because there is no time to buy food. _br/_ To sum it up unrealistic to try to visit these 3 places in a day and actually appreciate them, very disappointed.

Overall, enjoyed the trip particularly Bath. The tour guide had a sense of humour which meant the bus ride was not boring. At times, I felt the time allowed at each location was short, particularly at Salisbury however my main aim was to see Bath and here I think there was enough time to enjoy the sites._br/_ Overall, would recommend the tour.

If you can find your way to Victoria Coach station, the viator tour was well worth the cost. We got to see some out of the way places Stonehenge, Bath and Salisbury all in one day. While we could have spent more time in Bath or Salisbury, this guided tour hit all the high points. The tour guide was terrific and was both informative and funny. We would definitely use them again.
