Warwick Castle
This morning's first stop is medieval Warwick Castle. Over 1,000 years old, marvel at its amazing towers. For those that dare, there's a visit to the dungeons where prisoners were tortured. Alternatively, stroll the castle's tended gardens. At Warwick choose to either:

  1. Enjoy a free guided walking tour of Warwick's town center where you can view well preserved famous old buildings.
  2. Tour the inside of Warwick Castle and learn more about the banquets, battles and ceremonies that took place here (cost Adult £16.50, Child £15.00, Seniors/Students £16.20).
Stratford-upon-Avon
Past the Warwickshire hills, you'll travel to William Shakespeare's birthplace; Stratford-upon-Avon. Here, you'll have the option to:
  1. Embark on a free walking tour of Stratford-upon-Avon, a market town located on the edge of the Forest of Arden and home to the world's greatest playwright.
  2. Visit William Shakespeare's Tudor-style half timbered home, carefully furnished to recreate the interiors of his childhood (cost Adult £12.50, Child £8.00, Seniors/Students £11.50).
Oxford
The colleges in Oxford date back to the 13th century and among its famous students were Bill Clinton and C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Lewis Carroll.
  1. Embark on a free walking tour through the cobbled streets of Oxford and see Bodleian Library and the picture-perfect college courtyards, for which Oxford is famous.
  2. Take an interior visit of Christ Church college and see the dining room where Harry Potter was filmed (cost Adult £7.00, Child £5.50, Seniors/Students £6.00)
The Cotswolds
Admire the English countryside with its rolling hills. Thatched roof cottages and crooked houses of the Cotswold's are steeped in both history and heritage.

Entrance fees are not included, but can be purchased from your guide on tour.

Was a good look at the English countryside and some heritage towns. Warwick Castle and Statford gave us a hands on look at British history.

The tour director was very nice, and knowledgeable. The castle was interesting, I enjoyed seeing the dungeon, the living quarters were furnished and included wax historical people. Oxford is a nice city and the University is awesome to see. Stratford is also a very nice city and the hone of Shakespeare is very interesting. The Cotswolds portion is limited to viewing a few homes on the route to Oxford, and there was no way to take photos.

It was really great, I fancied every minute of it. I liked our guide! The only thing, we had such a good time that we actually we didn't have enough time to enjoy our trip completely, especially the Oxford part.

You should be ashamed of yourselves on this one-- the tour guide was rude and fussy....treated us all like 2nd graders, and bit the heads of more than one tourist for misunderstanding him (none were native English speakers.) Warwick Castle is a travesty-- a caveat that it is an amusement park was the least you should have done. Stratford-upon-Avon was an overpriced joke...Oxford was the highlight, but we had no time there at all. Btw, both of your tours that we took left us off in completely different places than we were picked up at with no warning-- I'm an independent traveler so I just took the Tube, but many less intrepid souls were terrified not to mention shocked. Ill conceived and poorly executed.

Enjoyable day. Strafford was charming. Guide needed to do more explaining of the areas we were passing-she was silent or speaking to the driver 80% of the time.

The company made us feel as though we had to buy the entrance tickets or we couldn't go at first. When we finally established that we could go, our family of 4 had to sit separately on the bus for the day. They shouldn't have advertised the trip like they did because it made us feel like we weren't wanted.

We were supposed to do a custom day trip where we were supposed to have to have the option of having a leisurely walk or doing the venues but we were forced to buy entrance into the venues before the tour or we would have to sit on the bus so it cost about 100 extra pounds. Warwick Castle was well worth it but Oxford was a snoozefest; would have preferred a pint at The Eagle and Child. And the Shakespeare birthplace while being a 700 year old tourist trap was still just that. We enjoyed an awesome high tea at a tea room just outside. The guide was very good. It was a very long day and the views of the Cotswolds are not especially noteworthy.

Of all the trips out of London, I think this is the best choice. Warwick Castle is well-worth visiting and they have live hosts and well-done wax figures throughout the living areas to give some life to the rooms. There also are demonstrations in the yards. We had an excellent tour of Oxford with our knowledgeable guide. Visiting Shakespeare's home is not worth the cost, but Stratford-upon-Avon is a great place for lunch.

It was very informative. The guide was very well versed in the places we saw. I do think he should find an alternative coffe shop in Oxford. You cannot turn around in it and the covered market near the Camera has plenty of roomy places and very comfortable. Stratford Upon Avon was tremendous!
