Traveler Reviews

We loved the card EXCEPT that it deactivated 3 hours before the 72 hour mark and we had to pay to get on the Metro to return to the airport and pay the extra fee to enter the airport. This was very frustrating.

It would be foolish not to buy one. The metro system is great and, even though they advertise that per ride Madrid is cheaper than any major city, it paid for itself by day 4 (of 7).

I did the Zone A pass and it was very convenient to go around on the metro to all the sites of the city - even the Real Madrid Stadium. However, if you are looking to do a lot of day trips outside the city, it may be worth it to get the Zone T pass so you can have access to those trains as well.

Chose the 5DZT pass as we understood it covered suburban trains and wanted to travel to Segovia and Toledo outside Madrid. RENFE Customer service at the airport also confirmed we could travel on this pass to these places -WRONG! It does not cover anywhere outside the immediate environs of the City although you can get an urban bus to Toledo. The difference between RENFE, CERNICAS and AVANT trains are not well explained. It is cheaper to get the city pass and pay non-city travel seperately.

These were useful and we used them to and from the airport. The airport could use more signs to help find the Metro but it was a modern system clean and easy to use with lots of lines and stations.

the madrid card was very good especially as it was so hot so to be able to just jump on the metro to take me to the places i wanted to visit was so easy .i also used this card to take mr to and from Atocha Renfe as i vitted toledo and other places in and around . I also used the card from the airport to my hotel on the Gran Via and the stop was literally outside of my hotel.it saves a lot of time queing to buy tickets i am not sure if it saved me much money but it was so convenient

bus system and routes easy to follow. Just about got our money's worth as we spent long periods in individual museums and attractions so in 3 days did not do so many journeys.

Extremely helpful in getting around the city. Didn't use much of it as I stayed near the Gran Via and lots of places were walking distance. Very helpful in getting from the airpoty to city centre. Plus recommend getting the full pass as you will have access to Renfe suburban Cercanias rail for outside Madrid.

I loved Madrid. Clean, efficient, buzzing. The metro is a lesson to london._br/_ The zoo was fantastic and good value. Ok food in the restaurants is generally fairly expensive but this is far outweighed by the positives.

Excelent card fot zona A. Zona T cost must be reviewed. It is a better option to purchase separated tickets to Toledo or Alcala than pay the present Zona T card cost.

We thought the travel pass was excellent. Our only negative point is that we think it should be made available for collection at the tourist office at the airport rather than only at the tourist office at Plaza Mayor in Central Madrid

I picked up the travel passes at the airport. The office for collection is above the metro station. I purchased a 3 day pass and it was great, just travelling around without the hassle of needing to queue or look for ticket booths. I used the local train, bus and metro so a broad range. All were very clean and I waited no longer than 7 minutes for any route. Would definitely use again.
