Every year from mid-December through early-May, the humpback whales make their home in the waters surrounding Maui. The whales migrate close to 3,500 miles (5635 km) from their Alaskan summer feeding waters, to the warm waters of Hawaii where they mate and have their calves.

This tour is seasonal and operates during the whale migrating season from December through to May.

Great captain and plenty of opportunities to see active humpbacks in January...even watched a mother teaching her calf how to splash its tail. A little disappointed that we were "upgraded" to a larger boat due to the fact that a cruise ship had docked and off loaded a huge amount of passengers. Regardless, the larger boat was still able to get us out and among the whales quiet well.

It was a beautiful morning and we did see a number of whale sitings. I felt the young woman who was doing the commentary coud have been a bit more professional. She sometimes seemed almost unsure of what to say. All in all it was an enjoyable activity for first time visitors.

I have taken several whale watching cruises and this one by far was the best. The staff were very friendly and Mario did the narrating and was just great. We saw lots of whales and 3 breeches. Loved every single minute of the cruise.

We really enjoyed the whale watching trip, but the information you provided was terrible. No carrier name, just Maui, Hawaii. We had to ask at 5 companies, before we found the right one. As well, the confirmation number you gave us, has absolutely nothing to do with the carrier whose ship we were on. You'll need to provide much clearer information if you want to have repeat business.

Awesome excursion and well worth the small amount of money you spend to go on this Whale watching cruise. Did see several Whales. All the staff were extremely knowledgeable and a portion of the cost goes back into Whale Conservation and research. First time seeing Whales and will definitley go back and book with them again.

The best trip ever. Had a hump back whale beside our boat within 50 yards, showing off, flapping its flipper on the water waving and rolling. The most exciting experiance ever. Worth the trip.

What a great trip - we were totally amazed by the beauty and the power of these magnificent creatures. Our "guide" was friendly and knowledgeable and stressed the importance of protecting their environment. Guests on board were given a synopsis of the whales' annual migration and activity and were encouraged to ask questions. In all aspects this was well-organized - even to the point we left the dock at the scheduled time - not "Hawaiian time", as we had other things planned for the day too!

My husband and I really enjoyed the whale watch trip and had many photo opportunities. The captain was great at narrating and finding whales. We were able to see many whales and two actually swam right under the boat. It was a great time I would do it again.

The cruise was really fun. The boat was big enough that we didn't get too seasick. We saw tons of whales and lots of activity. We also saw a pod of spinner dolphins and it was such a treat!

While we weren't guaranteed that we'd see numerous whales or witness full breaches, we did witness some fun whale action. The tour team was both knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend taking this tour during peak humpback season only.
