Where do I start! This walking tour was everything and more than we had expected. Although we had been to Melbourne on a number of occasions, we had decided to take a walking tour during this visit. Sean (our guide for the tour) initially met us, introduced himself and proceeded to inform us of what the tour would entail. The company provided a useful bag which contained a map of our tour and the all important bottle of water! It was lovely to have a small group as it enabled everyone to interact. Sean provided so much information as we wondered through the back lanes and arcades - going to places we would never have dared to enter! Coffee and lunch (including a glass of wine if you wish) are included in the cost of the walk - both very yummy! My sister and I would highly recommend this walking tour to anyone who is visiting Melbourne.

This was the best. Foina our guide was out standing. She took us for a behind the scenes tour of Federation square shops and alleys. You would never know this was there. And the underground rail history was so interesting. We stopped for tea and ended with lunch. This was a find on line and I highly recommend to all. What a bargain!

There was no hard sell, in fact no time for shopping but the information provided by the guide was very informative and set the scene for our week in Melbourne. I would recommended this first on any stay in Melburne city. We went back to some of the shops later and bought some very unique things.

I loved the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and there were only four of us on the tour so we got very personalised attention. We had a fantastic hot chocolate for morning tea and a delicious lunch at the end. Sensational!

I have already recommend the Lanes and arcades walking tour to all of my friends. We had walked right past the best parts of the city not knowing what was down the lanes. Our_br/_ guide Sean knew a lot of the local history and was perfect for the job.

Excellent way to get to know Melbourne in a leisurely and friendly way. The small group is ideal and the walking required is not all strenuous. The sampling of little shops in lanes and arcades was great and I will definitely be returning to some of them. Thanks for a great day!

I really enjoyed the tour with Fiona. The sights, the smells, the points of interest were all things I previously had not taken much notice of. I would recommend this tour to those who have perhaps been to Melbourne before and kept to the main thoroughfares or those who have not been at all. Every corner turned was something different to see.

I did not know that Melbourne had so many laneways and acrades. Just piqued my interest in doing more but time ran out. Anna was so informative on everything we saw and now I have the map next time I am in Melbourne I will certainly do some more exploring. Joan, Brisbane

Excellent tour. Well paced. Our guide, Sean, was well informed and enthusiastic about his city. We was lots of nooks and crannies that we would not have found ourselves, especially Chloe. Yummy hot chocolate and great lunch to finish. Well worth the money.

Very interesting and the guide was knowledgeable with a very pleasant personality. Would like a little more history included. Hot chocolate stop was too long. It would have been more enjoyable to have had the guide stay for the lunch (also too long a wait for lunch to arrive).

Overpriced, too long, could not hear tour guide, lunch fair, suggest give meal voucher instead. Gift bag not worth getting. Too long in some arcades e.g. the photographer's and not enough in more interesting places.

Review by: Carmel F May 2010
Thought the experience was worth while. Strongly suspect this was paricularly due to our guide's effort on the day and her lovely manner. Thought the map of the tour would have benefited by being bigger & therefore easier to follow. Goodie bag really was a misnomer it could have been so much more and only 2 store discounts was pretty poor. Morning tea a treat. Lunch just fine -thanks.

Enjoyed the tour very much as I experienced areas of Melbourne I was not aware existed. The hostess was easy going with a wealth of information about architecture, grafitti and shopping. I found the group of 10 too large. I think 6-8 participants would be ideal.

We had a great day. We loved finding new places to return to next time we are in the city, and especially loved all the tips about the architecture and buildings that we had never noticed before. We were so inspired to see things that we hadn't before we went to the Young and Jackson to see "Chloe" for the first time having all grown up in Melbourne. We will highly recommend your tours to friends especially to those who are entertaining international visitors. It was my birthday and it was a great way to celebrate with my friends. Thanks for a great day.

The experience was really great for both my sister and myself. We had been to some of the arcades ourselves but there were many we would not have found, particularly the button shop and the kimono shop. The guide was a wealth of information and extremely attentive to what we were interested in and sought out shops that were of interest to us.

I though it was worthwhile and went back and did some of the arcades on my own. Found the guide more into art then allowing time to shop in the arcades could be a longer tour allowing more time. Though I did enjoy myself.
