The guide was good and knew her stuff. Our enjoyment was marred by one participant who tried to turn the walk into a personal conversation with the guide, limiting the opportunity for questions from the group.

Here it is: The tour was good however, the customer service individual the tour was booked with made a big mistake which we were not happy about at all._br/_ We booked the tour at 9;45 the same day and were told to come to the starting place of the tour by 10;15, a full 45 minutes BEFORE the starting time. It was a windy and cold day and we did not appreciate it because we had to take the car and pay for parking unnecessarily..

The walking tour was great and it was well worth the 2 hours, gave you some great incite into old Montreal. Entrance is included into the basilica. Gave some great locations to visit after the tour was over.

This tour is an absolute must do. The guide, Angie, was great! You will learn more about the history and architecture of Montreal by taking this tour than any other means. Take the tour early in your stay and use it as a reference for the rest of your stay in Old Montreal.

Montreal was very nice. Clean, nice people and no fear of dangers anywhere we went. Our guide was helpful and informative. It rained some on day of tour but it was still great! Highly recommend the walking tours.

In general, we liked it. There was a heat wave, so going with my three kids (ages 15/12/12) became a bit long, but we all were glad we went. One comment, although our tour host was good about walking pace, etc., he almost LOST US! We were coming out of the Notre Dame Basilica and I guess we were the last; I was looking around and thinking we had lost the group, when a man from the group waved. The tour guide, however, was already half-way down the street. Maybe a better way would be to stop outside the church where we first met for the tour and do a head count? By the way, his joke about why the man is actually collapsed in a woman's arms outside a hospital has been repeated and laughed at a dozen more times since we arrived home.

Frankly, I was somewhat disappointed in the walking tour. Our guide did not seem to have that much detailed knowledge of the sites we were seeing. Just because she was born and raised in QC, did not give her such great background. She talked mostly about the general wars and history -- but in terms of describing the buildings, and monuments -- not so great. My tour book had more interesting details of what we saw. She also surprisingly did not understand that civil and criminal law in Quebec is different than in the other provinces. I thought the young tour guide of the residence at the Citadelle did a much better job in her tour. Rather disappointing I am sad to say.

Perfect beginning to our vacation in Old Montreal.Guide left exactly on time, was personable and knowledgeable. We saw sites we would have never explored on our own. I noticed people paying that morning (with no reservations) paying slightly less than we did. Hmm. Still worth the $20 pp.

This tour was a worthwhile first orientation to Vieux Montreal. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable though the tour was geared to a not sophisticated tourist. Could have done with more detailed historical and architectural focus; fewer humorous anecdotes.

The tour and tour guide were excellent. However, booking online meant we were charged double the price compared to those who bought their tickets on the street. We won't be booking similar tickets through an agent in the future.

Great way to tour old Montreal. Our tour guide was very pleasant, knowledgeable, effusive, and happy to answer any questions. Tour is two hours, which is probably not enough to go into great depth but definitely enough to whet your appetite and provide you with good ideas for further exploration. Really recommend that you do this as early as possible in your stay so that you can use what you learn to plan the rest of your vacation. Good value for the money and much better than the bus tours which fly by most sites (that said, this tour is focused on Old Montreal, so you may want to supplement with some other activities to get a feel for the rest of the city).

Our guide for this tour was energetic and entertaining, but we never made it to Bonsecours Market, which was one of the places we were most looking forward the guide ended the tour 2 blocks away and said "we could walk over on our own." Also, there was more emphasis on architectural details and less emphasis on history we would have preferred the reverse.

Our tour guide, Anne, mixed a wealth of history and information with a few well placed jokes and anecdotes for a wonderful tour. Her enthusiasm for Montreal and for answering questions made the tour highly enjoyable and made it easy to approach her with questions. Our children enjoyed the tour as well, as she engaged them and tailored some of her commmentary to include items of interest to them.

This was an excellent way to learn about Old Town Montreal and its history. I also took a grayline tour and this walking tour was head and shoulders better than that company's tour. I would not recommend Grayline but strongly recommend this Viator Walking Tour.

We got to see several different parts of Old Montreal and because it was Sunday, did not have to compete with traffic or construction noise. The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. She was happy to give advice about restaurants, etc. in the area also. I took this same walking tour the following day with a different guide, and got a different point of view and different information, and there was some differences in locations we visited due to it being a work day. We also got to visit inside the Basilica briefly since there were no masses or weddings on a Monday.

On our first day in Montreal, we took the walking tour in a driving rain. By the end of the tour, our feet were soaking wet, and my fingers were so cold that I couldn't feel them. But we'd do it again in a minute. George, our tour guide, was excellent. And the walking tour gave us just enough information to go out and explore Old Montreal on our own for the next few days. I highly recommend this tour. Incidentally, the coupons on our tour tickets saved us 15.00 at the Pointe-a-Callieres museum. George pointed it out to us.
