Capri Day Trip with Lunch from Naples

Capri Day Trip with Lunch from Naples

Naples, Italy

Retrace the steps of film stars on the magical isle of Capri. Lunch on Capri is included on this full-day excursion from Naples, plus you'll also have free time to discover the secrets of this beautiful island that has charmed visitors for centuries, You can also take an optional trip on the chairlift to the top of Monte Solare (additional cost) for spectacular views of the island and the Bay of Naples.

You'll be transferred to the main harbor for your journey to Capri by high-speed hydrofoil.

On arrival at the Port of Capri, a transfer by minibus takes you to Anacapri. You'll have free time to visit Villa San Michele, the home of Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe that is located on the northeastern side of Anacapri. You'll also travel to the top of Monte Solare by chairlift before returning to Capri for lunch. In the early afternoon, take a walk to the Gardens of Augustus.

In the early afternoon, take a walk to Augustus' gardens and, time permitting, enjoy an optional visit of the Blue Grotto (additional cost) before returning to Naples.

During your free time, you have the chance to see the Blue Grotto if you wish (additional cost). A visit inside the Blue Grotto is not part of this shore excursion, but you have the option to take a boat ride to it. Only small boats can actually fit inside the grotto, and this is not guaranteed - going inside is dependent on current sea conditions and the size of the crowd, both of which may prevent your boat from getting in. Be aware that if you choose to take the optional boat trip to the Blue Grotto, you may only be able to pass outside.

This was a beautiful outing. It was a sunny day and the scenery on the boat ride and on Capri was stunning. Good views of Sorrento hills and of Vesuvio. The lunch was very good - if a little rushed. We took the optional boat ride around the island. More beautiful views of the island from another perspective. The 1€ cost to get into the public garden was the best bargain of the day. Beautiful plantings and breathtaking views from the highest point on the island. I'd do this again in a heartbeat!

Our guide was just accompanying us, did not give much explanations, certainly not about historical Capri. She was more an escort. moving us physically around. That's it.

Very good way to get Capri (bothbtowns) in a day. Suggest guide give option to enter Blue Lagoon instead of the boat trip around island to just see entrance...it could have been done in the timewe had.

Hotel pickup and return was very good._br/_ However, in Capri, we were squeezed into the small bus or van. There were too many passengers in the van. The lunch place was poor, harried and with lack of food choice._br/_ The guides were good and satisfactory under the crowded circumstances.

The tour was really good. We were picked up from the hotel precisely on time. Capri was jam-packed with tourists. Our lunch was excellent. Our boat trip around the island was beautiful; the chair lift was really fun. The guide Pepe was all business. I thought he could have smiled, but he did an excellent job.

The organization of this tour was a fiasco! We were picked up by a van in disrepair; the driver and helper were very unprofessional, alarms sounding off the whole way, broken seats, driving around the city for 90 minutes picking people up before even heading out to Pompeii. The tour was overbooked so we couldn't even ride on the nice bus to get there but had to go on in this delapidated van. Once we got there, the group was so large and the guide had to translate in English and French. It was hard to hear and we missed out on a lot of information we would have liked to have had. I don't recommend this ... book a more private tour.

Very little information was given. Pepe was handing us off to other guides. Mostly wandered around on our own. The island was beautiful!

We had booked a Capri, Italy daytrip on Aug 16 where we were to meet the tour operator at the Napoli Maritima Pier. When we arrived we couldn't find or see the tour operator. We arrived 15 minutes before our meeting time. We waited until almost 9am and still didn't see him. Finally, we called the phone number given to us by Viator for the Napoli tour operator. Once we got through to the number there was only a message machine. We couldn't talk to anyone in person. We did leave a message, but no one every responded. The other issue was the voice mail message was in Italian, which we had to go to the local tourist information booth to get the information officer to translate it for us._br/_ We decided to go over to the ferries, next to the main pier to see if we could find the tour guide. We couldn't see anyone there and by this time we were sure, the group had left for Capri. We came back to the main pier, and found the tour guide holding a sign with our name on it. It was now 9:15am. He was late in meeting us, but seemed to indicate it was our fault. He put us on the next ferry over to Capri and contacted the tour guide who had gone over with the group earlier. We met up with them on the island, about an hour later than expected._br/_ This situation caused us a great deal of stress, as the tour guide had arranged to meet us outside the pier. We noted there were many tour operators outside with signage of the names of people. We went around and asked each operator if they were with Viator and we didn't see our guide. We waited and waited. He was obviously late in arriving._br/_ I think Viator needs to let the foreign tour operators know that they must be on-time to ensure for a pleasant customer experience.

well first, hats off to the tour guide (Roberta) but as to the tour organization...thumbs down. Within the tour there were a group who elected to do the "Blue Grotto". This was news to the other 6 people who thought the tour and accompanied tour guide were all for one only. No where did I see the Blue Grotto option . Maybe it would be better served to devote a tour to that and Capri, ie, "Capri Day trip w/Blue Grotto". Why was this a problem?, because the 6 people who didn't want to do it got pushed off on their own. An hour and half later after doing the tram ride and wandering around aimlessly, I called the company to ask the where abouts of the tour guide that I paid for. She showed up with the "BG" group like I said about an hour plus 20 later and we made the most of it. Overall, I was highly disappointed. i had used the tour company from the hotel a day earlier "Different company altogether' and was impressed with organization, time management, etc. These guys I would not recommend at all.

Very Poor I would not bother with this tour juts get the ferry and take a taxi a the other end this was all it was ! We had to be ready for 08:00 and then kept waiting for an hour at the dock as they try and optimise the visitors on each tour! The guide was not interested and the whole purpose seemed to be getting you to the two areas where you could spend money on tourist tat ! No history, no value, all in all a rip off. Would not recommend. The Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii trip was much better. The island is only worth visiting outside of the season mad with tourists in the summer, not withstanding this the trip could have been much better not sure what the guide was for ??? POOR POOR POOR

After seeing all the reviews about being timely and organized, we were sadly disappointed to see how hectic and chaotic the process of getting people to the port was, along with getting on the boat. We almost missed the boat because our tour guide Roberta was running around trying to collect all the people. It happened to be raining a bit, but it seemed that Roberta was more annoyed about this than even the members of our tour group. She was making a lot of sour faces as if she were she were being inconvenienced to be there. Also, she was not very friendly and not very considerate - there was an older couple that was on the tour. Rather than accommodating to their health issues, she again seemed inconvenienced and would go ahead of the group when walking anywhere. Regardless, Capri itself is an absolutely beautiful island and worth seeing. Even with poor weather and not being able to see the highlight Blue Grotto, I am still happy that I visited the island and the chairlift to the top of the island is worth the 10 euros. Overall the reviews of this tour and the guide are good so I’m hoping that our experience was a one off instance.

Let me start by saying Capri is absolutely gorgeous and if you're in the area it is simply a must see. However, DO NOT take this tour. It is a monumental waste of time and money. Our tour guide coordinated all of our transportation, which was helpful but we could have easily done ourselves for a lot less money.

[Let me first say that the local tour company: "Project Napoli Service" is terrible. We had three tours with them and they were the worst in all of Italy. Avoid if at all possible!] Capri is one of a kind. The island is so beautiful and well worth a day or more. We wanted to spend more time there but weren't able to because we had to "move along". It might be better to explore Anacapri and Capri alone. But be sure to take the chair lift to the top of Anacapri... might be the best view in all of Italy.

Unfortunately, we did not have a great day on our Capri tour. The island itself is very beautiful and worth seeing and exploring but I would have enjoyed it much better if we would have taken the boat over ourselves (which seemed very easy) and explored the island on our own. Our guide Pepe was not very friendly and made us feel rushed all day long. A few of us bought tickets to go see the Blue Grotto and were very upset when we very quickly passed it in the boat with the excuse that the water was too rough even though there were other boats going in. The boat company knew that we would not see the Blue Grotto that day but did not say anything until we were passing it in the ocean and trapped on the boat after paying our 30 euros. We felt ripped off and I think it should have been figured out by our guide to help us make an informed decision before buying the tickets. I would not recommend this tour with this guide, sorry.

I give it a two only because of the fellow travels i got to meet during the trip. Our guide did not seem to really want to be there...did not want to answer questions ..only when she wanted to....i had spent a month in italy different cities different tours both with this company and others and found this one to be the worst. Capri is beautiful would still go visit but would save money and skip the tour!

What a beautiful place! If I were to return to Capri, I would spend a night to have full day there. The ferry ride to and from were great, 40 min each way and quite scenic. Pepe our guide was a lovely man who had fabulous knowldege of the island. The bus to the top(Anacapri) was good, tiny winding road on the edge of a cliff. We had 1 hour to free time there then lunch. Lunch was a little odd, no menu,a waiter asked "bolognese or pomadoro". after the pasta was served they asked "meat or fish". basically you had to guess what type of fish you were eating. The wait staff were very nice but it was very rushed since they were very busy and we were on a schedule. After lunch back on the bus,( you don't want to be a large person, you'll take up 2 seats) bus down to Capri where there is Madison Ave shopping, as well as cafes, gelato shoppes. A lovely cliff walk down to the small marina it would take about an hour down and up, we couldn't do it since time was too short. BTW, NO BLUE GROTTO!! 1/2 of our tour paid EXTRA got on another boat, and 10min into the ride they informed us that the water was too rough and we can't go to the grotto, however small boats were all moored and people were going into the grotto. Save your $ and take one of the smaller boats, they'll get you in. After a boat ride around the island, our tour ended and back on the ferry to port of Naples. A lovely day just a bit rushed.

To be honest it would be better to buy your own return boat ticket from Naples and see Capri for yourself as so much of the time is "free" the interesting parts are added cost anyway. Lunch lovely, we knew we had to pay for drinks, but 12 Euros for two sodas and two coffees is a bit steep. Otherwise a very enjoyable day.

Drinks were at own expense which is fair enough. ski lift was 9euros each but as i suffer with vertigo we didnt bother but did do the 14euro boat trip around the island we were hoping to visit the blue grotto but were persuaded to do this boat instead we were not dissapointed really enjoyed the whole day. Tour guide Margerete was lovely

The pros: Our guide did a very good job, and she made sure that we got back early to the hydrofoil so that we would definitely not be late when returning to the ship. The cons: We could have taken an earlier hydrofoil and thus had more time in Capri. Next, the lunch was by far the worst we have had with an excursion. No one liked it in our group.

Much depends on who the guide is and the weather, and both were great the day I took this tour. The pickup, sequence of events, and handling of logistics were all fine. As people have been noting for years, the chairlift is an extra-cost option and it may not be possible to see the Blue Grotto it wasn't. The lunch service was rushed but that's to be expected in such a popular and crowded tourist area. The guide provided helpful hints and the optional boat tour around the island was excellent, though the commentary was mostly unintelligible.

Unfortunately, the day we went to Capri, it was overcast and the afternoon turned very rainy. This was rather disappointing. We were looking forward to riding the chair lift and having spectacular views of the ocean and island. However, due to cloud cover we could not see the ocean at all! Also, I was under the impression the chair lift or visit to Gardens in Ana Capri was included in the price. If you want to do these activities you will need to pay for them in addition. We had one hour at Ana Capri, which only allowed time to ride the chair lift. Lunch was good. Everybody was given a choice of cheese ravioli or fish. You could have a soda or water and there were two desert options included. We sat on the covered patio. The boat ride over is very choppy. The company hands out bags to barf in if needed. Nobody adjacent to us barfed, but we could see people on the boat barfing. The key per our guide is to sit towards the back of the boat and as close to the center. We wanted to go to the Blue Grotto, but could not due to the rain. If I could go back, we would still complete this tour. If it had been sunny, it would have been a geat day.
