This tour met our needs during a quick 48 hour stopover in Naples. We booked the tour last minute. The representative I spoke with on the phone was courteous and clear about trip details. Our driver picked us up at our hotel promptly at 8:30. The Mercedes mini-bus was new and very clean and the driver courteous and friendly. We spent time touring Duomo di San Gennaro and then drove to other key buildings and stopped for some amazing city views before we picked up additional tourists to join us for the Pompeii portion of the tour. _br/_ Our guide, Maria, provided a great overview of how life was in Pompeii. We were able to tour the theater, Gladiators Barracks, Stabian Baths, House of Faun, Buildings of Eumachia, and Lupanari to name a few. Maria's comments were insightful pointing out many details along the way, things we would have overlooked if we were touring by ourselves. If you want to spend time wandering through Pompeii, don't take this tour. But if you want an informative overview without any worries, TAKE THIS TOUR! My experience with this Viator tour was outstanding.

Pompeii was the highlight of this tour. Our tour guide was fantastic. He was able to help you understand what life was like back then. Walking through the city streets of Pompeii was amazing. Although I would not suggest taking kids on this tour. There were some pretty explicit images. But overall very much worth the money.

The Naples City and Pompeii tour was stunningly beautiful. The guide and driver took us to see the top sights in Naples including a gorgeous view of the bay; followed by the in-depth tour of Pompeii. The first portion of the tour was ok for Naples. The second portion is for Pompeii. Very interesting but again very hot for us. Bring water( you can fill up your empty bottles on site, same everywhere in Rome) but do plan to bring something to eat....no break for lunch on this tour. Very interesting tour.

Naples is not pretty, but pretty smelly. Our tour guide Andrea was a quick witted, funny guy and he spoke English well which made the trip really good. He was equally good and knowledgeable around pompeii too.

Both tour guides were EXCELLENT! They were both on time, easy to understand, very knowledgeable, group was small. Nice vehicle, both parts of tour were just exactly what we needed and we left Naples feeling like we had seen everything we needed to see and know. Pompeii was unbelievable. This was worth the money. Although the City Tour was not that extensive, it felt like a "private" tour with Andy, our tour guide. He was knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor, and treated us like we were old friends. His tour of Pompeii was personal, extensive, and was one of the highlights of our trip to Naples.

I had attempted to book this trip with a port pick up as we were cruising the med. When I booked, the port pick up was not an option so I was given the nearest pick up to our port arrival (our port arrival was Livorno). I was not aware that our port arrival gave us no where near enough time to get to Florence , where the pick up was. Hence we spent nearly £200 (this was for 4 adults) on a trip that we had no chance of getting to, please ensure you check your distance from your place of arrival to your suposed tour as you will end up paying for something that you can not get to in time.

i was very disappointed with this tour. When i booked this tour i understood that it would be only in english, however this was not the case . with explanations being made in 2 languages the guide could not cover all of the important areas of Pompeii.

Andre, our guide, was outstanding. FUNNY!!!! The Naples part of the tour was OK. Had some difficulty locating our guide, but the office via phone solved the problem...remember to have a cell phone on you...it's essential in case of slip ups....after the Pompei tour, we hopped on the train and went to Sorrento...took the hydrafoil back to Napoli to board the ship.....docks next to ship....a great day!

Andre, and Antonio were fantastic. It was just me for the first half of the trip I felt like a VIP. We collected and met up with four other great people on the way to and at Pompeii and WOW the sun was shining bright, Andre was so kind, funny and informative. I was sad I didn't sign up for the afternoon, too but with a bad knee I couldn't climb the volcano, and had to leave the fun. I recommend whole heartedly.

Pompeii was everything i thought it woud be and a little more. The tour of Naples was OK, but Pompeii was absolutely amazing. Our guide for the Pompeii portion of this two-part tour was incredibly knowledgeable and he was equally enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge with his guests. Pompeii is far larger than I ever imagined, and the Roman civilization of the day far more advanced than I realized. The guide on the day I took this tour made this tour a truly memorable experience. All pickup and travel logistics were handled perfectly. I would have preferred less time in Naples and more time and a slower pace in Pompeii, but I realize that people's interests and schedules differ.

Our guide in Pompeii was very knowledgeable, personable and easy to understand. Pompeii was very interesting but mostly because we had a personal guide!!! The bus driver was amazingly helpful when we needed to do some last minute souvenir and wine shopping. I would recommend that the company be more specific about where to meet the van. We spent too much time around the cruise buses in the back before we realized that we needed to go out front. We were a little panicked. It was a relief to see our city tour guide finally,

Our tour guide, Andres, and driver Antonio were fantastic. They met us right on time, near our cruise ship terminal. We were lucky enough to have one other great couple with us, and had an exciting, fun, personal tour. We felt very lucky vs. huge groups on large buses. Highly recommend Viator!

Excellent tour for the length. It gives you a good overview of Naples, including some scenic views of the coast, a cathedral and a few other historic buildings. My favorite part was Pompeii. It was really awesome. Both tour guides spoke good English. We were able to see a good section of Pompeii you need good walking shoes. If you want to see more of Pompeii I would recommend a whole tour just of Pompeii which is longer.
