Was asked if me and my same sex partner would like to move to a table in the back corner where we might be more comfortable. I said no.

Our overall experience was good. The buffet dinner was limited and not what we expected. The service and the trip up the Mississippi made up for the buffet.

Not for a younger generation , must say however that we enjoyed the meal. We were a bit rushed through the whole process.

Steamboat Jazz Cruise was amazing! My wife and I loved the whole experience. Food was nothing special but the music, sights and enviornment was well worth it. You can sit port side for a romantic little retreat and go back inside to take in the good music. -Manny from AZ

Enjoyed the food but the band not so much. I went in the evening and the weather was too cool for me. I think a trip in the day would have been better.

The ship was great and the food was ok. My only complaint was that I would have liked to have heard more of the music.

So glad we went on this tour. Lovely evening and very well organised. Jazz band "Dukes" were good too. Food was very very good and plentiful and really was a delight. The bread pudding was a dream. A really enjoyable trip and a MUST for everyone

Great value for money as great food and band! I wished we had known we could have boarded from 6pm as our ticket said departure time 7pm so that is when we showed up and we realised we had missed the band playing a lot of songs!

We enjoyed the trip down the Mississippi however the food was not the greatest. Before you had a chance to finish and go back they were already taking down the stations.

Wonderful evening. Enjoyed the jazz band before the cruise started. Had the later seating for dinner so was able to listen to the narrative about the steamship and the sights along the shore.Good supper. Would recommend this.

A fantastic night (but too short at 2 hours) and well worth the money. Only downside was only 1 barman in the top deck bar and patrons who were waiting for the second dinner sitting entering from both sides of the bar for service. Usual wait about 20 mins and on a hot night was badly organised.

All the staff were accommodating. The Captain and Watchman were at the gate to welcome the passengers and even if my group was the last to board the steamboat, the Captain himself accommodated and waited patiently for us. Since we boarded at 7:10pm, the female person on the ship arranging the tables offered to arrange a table for us outside the dining room, since the dining room had to be prepared for the next group at 7:45pm. The food was surprisingly pleasant and delicious given our experience with the previous rotary events we attended. The jazz band, Dixieland, -- music and the performers were great. The steamboat cruise was well worth the price and the time. I am glad the captain waited patiently.

We had a lovely evening. Watched the sunset over New Orleans - very pretty. The food was delicious and the service professional. My only complaint, if it is that, it was very hard to hear the commentary from the back of the ship at times.

We took the evening cruise and it was delightful. Cruised down the river for an hour, then it was time for dinner. When we went back up to the deck, we saw the lighted New Orleans skyline. A lovely way to spend the evening.

I also had the opportunity to go on the Natchez lunch cruise on another day, and of the two, I preferred the lunch cruise. The dinner cruise was nice, and it was lovely with the lights, but the people were a bit more rowdy, and I thought the food was actually better on the lunch cruise. The buffet was good in both cases, but the lunch cruise food was really excellent. Also, I had the second seating for the dinner cruise, and things were a bit disorganized. I never was able to get into the salad line. Dinner was served late, and everyone dashed in at once, creating a very long line. The narration for the cruise was also longer and better on the lunch cruise, but there was more music on the dinner cruise, and it was really excellent. In either case, lunch or dinner, the Natchez provides a nice trip, and I would recommend it.

really enjoyed the cruise but was disappointed with the meal.we was in the second seating and by the time we got to the buffet line they had already run out of some of the entrees. for the price i fell that this should have not happened.
Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
Review by: Thomas C December 2010
The staff and workers on the boat were excellent. We went on one of the coldest days of the season, so the outside ride was almost non-existent, through no fault of the boat. The band was very good, and provided fun entertainment. The food was adequate in taste, some good and some bad. We realized it might have been better to take this cruise in the daytime during the winter. But I would think the night cruise would be great during the summer.

Night time reduces the sights that can be seen. The music was fantastic and worth the trIp. The meal was alright but nothing to rave about. To ride an old paddle steamer like this was taking you back down memory lane.

An excellent introduction to New Orleans. Perfect venue for a date or a couple to rekindle. You can make friends or be to yourselves. The "engineer" in you will love the self-guided engine room tour.

A group of us took this cruise. It was wonderful. The jazz band played before we left the dock and took a quick break as we departed and started the trip down river. At this point a narration was given about the steamship and the river. We did the 730 seating for dinner. This was nice because we enjoyed the band for a bit, saw some of the river and ate while it was starting to get dark. I high recommend doing this cruise if you have a chance to.

Really nice food! Also if you don't sit directly where the jazz band is you can stroll anywhere on the boat including the engine room. There is also a guy giving lots of history and info over the speaker that you can here all over the boat. Do this at the start of your holiday. New Orleans is the best city ever!!

Amazing experience from the outstanding jazz band to the captain's detailed historical information, the excellent buffet, and exquisite little keepsake shop. The service lead was also very accommodating and a wonderful example of true southern hospitality. There was plenty of time to enjoy every aspect of this experience, we even visited the engine and chatted with the crew as well as danced in the dining room. We highly recommend the Steamboat Natchez Evening Jazz Cruise to properly set the tone for your next trip to New Orleans!!
