Explore beyond the Big Apple with a full-day tour to Washington DC from New York City. You'll capture the spirit of "the home of the brave and land of the free" as you visit the monuments and memorials of Washington DC.

Beginning in New York heading south, you will pass through the states of New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland before arriving at Capitol Hill. Your tour will begin with a stop to Madame Tussauds for a photo with President Barack Obama and a visit to a replica of the Oval Office. Move further into Washington DC and you'll see the Capitol, Senate and White House, the core of the US government. Your tour of Washington DC continues to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum before visiting the Washington, Lincoln, Vietnam and Korea memorials.

Late in the afternoon you'll embark on a panoramic city tour before departing Washington DC for an early-evening arrival in New York City.

Please Note: This tour does not stop at Arlington Cemetery and is scheduled to stop in front of the White House, the Capitol and the Senate for commentary and picture taking, however please note that sometimes this is not possible due to security issues in Washington. In the event of this occurring, tour will be adjusted accordingly.

Great tour but due to a blow out tyre on bus day ended up being 16hrs which was a bit hard on our 7y/o. Otherwise would've been 5/5.

Terrific day trip. Guide (Eddy) was very knowledgeable and pointed out all points of interest. A lot was packed into the day and we were taken to the main sites in DC. Although an early start, it was worth it to see the capital in all its splendour. Would highly recommend this tour.

You must accept the limitations of this tour - it is a long way from NYC to Washington so there is only about 4 hours in Washington which means you only get a short time at each location.

It was a nicely managed trip. The Guide was great and so was the bus and drivers. Only a hiccup while returning back was that AC in bus broke down._br/_ The itenary can have some better place replacing Madam Tussads as that is an very ok place to visit if you are on a 1 day trip.

Well organised tour but it can be a very long day,ours lasted 14.5hours.Great to see all the major landmarks although would have liked more time at the Air and Space Museum and not bothered with Madam Tussauds.

This tour was a great way to see some highlights of Washington D.C. I would have enjoyed visiting more monuments and memorials, especially to see the new MLK Jr. memorial instead of the Madme Tussaud's wax museum, although this was an enjoyable detour. The tour guide was great, providing both English and Itailan and appropriate times for breaks and to explore the sites.

If you just want to pop in and take a few photos this is perfect. Don't expect to have a lot of time though, it will be very rushed which was exactly what we were after

This trip is worthwhile. You see the main Washington DC attractions and the guide was most informative - refreshed my knowledge of American History. The coach was comfortable and the break stop both ways at Dellaware offered numerous options for food , drink and gifts. This is a long day trip but value for money.

It was a long day and you do not have enough time in DC - 2 mins at capitol hill, nowhere near arlington, 20 mins at memorial, although still lots of time to take us to a tacky gift shop! Not worth the money I am afraid. it took 5.5 hours to get back to NY and I have never had a bus driver with such a good relationship with his brakes!

Good to see the Capital but I think we could have seen more if planned better. Felt like we were dropped off at Space Centre to fend for ourselves - way too long there. THe Drvier seemed to be lost alot and was not aware where some places were.

This tour was nice except for the first stop for breakfast which was too short to stand in lines to get something to eat and to visit the restrooms as the place was very busy. Again at the end everyone was surprise and shocked for the tour guide requesting a tip of 15-20% from everyone for himself and the driver, in addition to telling us how he depends on the tips for developing himself etc. Nice guy, but really not appropriate after a whole day tour. I had to save and paid a total of about $600 for the tour for myself, a single mother and my 3 children (Our home currency was R8.80 =$1). Important to note that tips are optional, when service is exceptional and not for something that is part of a persons regular job. Many people cannot afford such big tips. In addition, one would think that tips didn't apply here as when you fly, you do not tip the pilot and the stewardess and neither do they expect it :)

Saw lots of the city which was great, also seeing Madame Tussaud's was a bonus. Thought the tour guide could have been a little better, seemed a bit lost for words/facts sometimes, or repeated them, but very good overall.

Although rushed, it is a long way to go for a day trip, our guide kept us entertained and the stops were well worth the trip. Comfortable bus and the only criticism I could make was that they don't stop anywhere nice for lunch - only Macdonalds at the Air and Space Museum so if you don't like junk food take your own!

Excellent value for money. Early departure; leaving Grand Central Station at 6.45am and not returning until 9.00pm. We had a comfortable coach with two drivers and a tour guide throughout. The coach was full but we had enough room. It's worth noting that we had electrical sockets next to our seats - if we'd known this we'd have charged ipads etc en route. Our guide was knowledgeable andensured we all kept to the strict schedule; even leaving behind 2 guests at Madame Tussauds in Washington. The memorials were great, as was the White House and Capitol. We would have preferred free time in Washington rather than trips to Madame Tussauds amd the Space Museum. A fabulous day out thougha nd an easy way to see a place we wouldn't visit in its own right.

i loved it. We visit Licolin memorial, The White House, Madame Tussauds, The Smisthsonian and the capital Hall. Washington was so beautiful and the tour guide was great.

We were visiting NYC from Australia and had only one day free to see Washington highlights. This bus trip satisfied those requirements fully. The staff were friendly and helpful. As long as you don't expect to see too much of Washington and understand that most of the time will be spent travelling from and back to NYC - then you should be happy with the trip.

Really enjoyed this trip, and the tour guide was excellent. Only downside for me was that we weren't in Washington long enough. But from everything we got to see can't fault it. I would now like to go back and spend a few days exploring Washington, Oh and the White House is a lot smaller than I thought!!

The day was informative regarding American History with appropriate stops along the way for breakfast and toilet. It was a very rushed day but enough time to see the highlights of the various stops. Unfortunately the day was rainy and wet. A nice touch was a movie to watch in the bus on the way home. Overall a good experience viewing the highlights of Washington DC.

This trip to Washington was fantastic....after the chaotic start - there must be a better system to get people onto the coaches. The coaches are not luxury as mentioned on website - nor do you get bottled water as also mentioned. The first stop is 212hrs. Having said that the guides were most informative and made the tour. Washington is a must if you can make it.

Overall the trip was excellent. Saw all the things I wanted to see in the short time available. The tour guide was excellent and gave just the right amount of information. The only thing I would say could have been better was the coach.

The DC day trip was a wonderful experience. The bus ride was very smooth and provided rest stops at clean service stations. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave a tour during the entire bus ride, not just in DC. While it was a short visit to the city, we got to see everything we hoped to. A very packed day, but well worth it.

Good trip, bit chaotic at the start as there were different buses with different speaking guides, and no one really there to explain. The organizer should have told people on arrival which bus to get on. Our guide was very good, could speak in Spanish as well as English, but the Spanish explanations seemed to be a lot longer than the English ones! Apart from the start a well organized and well thought out trip! One thing which my wife and I thought could have been different was the final stop in the space museum, this we did not really see why we went there, and the food court was a disaster, the food was rubbish and cold, you could alter the stop for the food to a better location and change the museum!
