This was a great hike. My husband did it last year and came back saying it was good hike. But he did not think I could do it. Later he said he wished I could do the hike to Diamond Head he thought I would like it We did a lot of walking and stairs, as he had told me about the stairs in prepration. I was able to do the hika and enjoyed it very much.

4/5 due to torrential rain on the day but 5/5 for spectacular waterfalls not normally seen on this adventure. Clare our guide was fantastic. Small group of 5 , all got drenched but wouldn't have missed it for the world. Can't wait to come back and see the view on a sunny day!

Better be in shape and ready to do some serious walking. If you are, then the view at the end is worth all the steps and all the sweat. I suggest do it in the morning before the sun really kicks in otherwise it will be painful!

this was a really nice hike. but it was a lot more strenous then I expected it to be. I am glad that I did the early hike as the later one would have been too hot. our guide was great, very informative. I rated this 4 star because when I went to confirm my hotel pick up they advised me I needed to go to a different hotel. I stated I was a single female and did not want to walk to a different hotel in the dark and I originally booked this because my hotel was listed for pick up. the gal on the phone said they would make an "exception" and pick me up at my hotel. they were there on time and it worked out great. Other then that, it was a fun trip.

The hike in itself was great...the tour guide seemed uninterested with our group and did not speak hardly two words the entire ride back to our hotels from the hike. On a side note, he was very witty and that was enjoyable. I would recommend this hike to anyone because it's challenging and beautiful but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it be done with a tour program. Just go and pay $5 for the parking/entrance fee and do it yourself. So much cheaper, you still get beautiful pictures, and you can do it at your own pace/time. I guess all you'd be missing is some historical information...

Another adventure not to be missed even if_br/_ you don't make it to the top! The scenic views are wonderous. Just remember there is a lot of uphill hiking involved and many stairs. The path is uneven and rocky. Our guide was encouraging and informative. Don't feel bad if you don't make it - just relax and enjoy - you are in Hawaii after all!
