Natural Highlights of Oahu Small Group Adventure

Oahu, United States of America

Join Oahu's most experienced eco-tour company on a small group, natural highlights adventure. Combine a little hiking with a superb outdoors experience as you enjoy a personalized experience on this exclusive small group tour - maximum tour number is 14.

There's no need to pack any extra gear, as you'll enjoy free use of a backpack, flashlight, binoculars and walking staff. While you stroll, you'll learn about Oahu's fascinating geology, natural history and ecosystems from your expert guide.

Your first stop on this tour is the Paiko Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary, home to native wetland bird species. Your exploration of Oahu continues with a visit to world-famous Hanauma Bay and the Kahauloa tuff cone along the island's stunning southeast volcanic coastline.

Next stop is Halona Cove, where green sea turtles and humpback whales swim in crystal-clear waters and a blowhole shoots columns of saltwater into the sky. After stopping at Makapu'u Lookout, where you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of offshore islands, you'll visit colorful tide pools and the 25,000-year-old Kaupo lava flow.

Along the way, your professional nature guide will point out rare species of native Hawaiian coastal plants and a variety of seabirds, including red-footed boobies, great frigate birds and red-tailed tropic birds.

Stretch your legs on Oahu's longest sandy beach and enjoy the aquamarine waters of Waimanalo Bay, where tropical fish and corals abound. Then visit the Enchanted Lake Bird Sanctuary, one of the premier bird-watching locations on Oahu.

Continue to an ancient Hawaiian temple, Ulupou Heiau, to see one of Oahu's best preserved archaeological sites. At the world-renowned Pali Lookout, described by Mark Twain as one of the most beautiful views on earth, you'll see the turquoise waters of Kaneohe Bay and the jagged vertical cliffs of the majestic Koolau volcano.

Tour was great, very informative on landmarks and history of Oahu. George the tour guide was very friendly, let us take as much time at sites as we wanted and answered questions. Only wish we could have met outside of busy area to begin our tour.

If it were based on the stops I would rate this higher but the guide Stan was obsessed with the economics of the area instead of focusing on nice interesting tips about the stops. He did have good knowledge about the wildlife, birds, etc but the talk between stops was focused on housing and how much it cost. Also, (not stan's fault) the van used was too small for the tour, falling apart, the seats were worn out and peeling, getting in and out was not convienent at all. People DO NOT like to be crammed into small spaces while trying to enjoy a new place!! The sites were beautiful but that is Hawaii, not the tour quality. If I could recommend it, I would suggest training Stan on customer service (rude and snubby at pick up), driving skills (cut people off, pulled out in traiffic, etc), and not belittiling people who don't tip him (ie, "people from trump tower are cheap, I have never got a tip from them...")

Too many words, too little substance. The anthology and history lessons were interesting, but we were looking for a tour, not a college class. The bird sanctuary was a complete waste of time. Please replace this stop. The guide was very knowledeable, but used too many words. I will not recommend this tour.

This was really great. It took us to the most beautiful spots of Oahu and not the fully packed tourists spots. One of the beaches was just gorgeous and it is the beach the "locals" use, so there were hardly any people on it. We got to see whales out in the ocean and it was a great day.

This was like a half-island circle tour. Some great views, and our guide was great! Too bad the weather didn't cooperate more.
