Oahu Kayak, Hike and Snorkel Adventure

Oahu, United States of America

Experience the remote and breathtaking beauty of an Oahu kayak adventure along the scenic windward coast of Kualoa, one of the most historically significant places on Oahu. This Oahu kayaking, hiking and snorkeling excursion combines the scenic backdrop of the lush Hakipuu Valley and the majestic volcanic Koolau Mountain ridge with the tranquil cobalt and turquoise ocean waters of Kaneohe Bay.

Your Oahu hiking adventure begins with a short hike to a scenic overlook at the entrance to Hakipuu Valley. Here you will have the chance to capture an aerial perspective of the breathtakingly beautiful landscape, from its forested valleys to its inviting ocean reef waters. From this point on, your day will continue to unfold with one unforgettable highlight after another.

Once completing your instruction for your Oahu kayak adventure, you'll paddle along the tranquil and glassy waters of Kaneohe Bay. Due to the protected reef surrounding the area, this is one of the safest places for kayaking on Oahu.

Your journey by kayak along Kualoa, listed on the National Register of Historical Places, takes you past Mokoli'i Island to the 800-year old Molii fishpond (one of the last ancient Hawaiian fishponds). This rock-walled enclosure was hand-built by ancient Hawaiians to maintain a ready supply of live ocean fish. As part of the privately- owned Kualoa Ranch, you will have the rare opportunity to experience an ancient Hawaiian treasure that most visitors to Oahu never get to see.

As your kayak glides along the tranquil coast line of Kaneoohe Bay, your adventure includes an exclusive visit to Oahu's hidden gem known as "Secret Island". This secluded beach in the country becomes your playground for relaxation, enjoyment and a picnic lunch. Whether you want to relax in a hammock, take a stroll around the island, or return to the ocean for a quick canoe ride, you're certain not to want to leave.

This trip was a highlight of our stay in Hawaii. Our guide was very friendly and looked after us very well. The Kayaking part was great, this trip is mainly about the Kayaking part. The little hike was good as the view we got was amazing but this trip was centred on the Kayaking. The lunch was very sufficient and the island is great, we even got to walk around and explore it more.

The view is nice. The kayaking part was great, but the hiking part is nothing special. Chinaman's hat is not the best place for snorkeling. We only saw regular fishes, not the ones with color.
Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

eat before you go! lunch was small but who cares..the trip was fun! The best part about it was the snorkeling!! Very fun although the kayak portion is way longer than anything else you do on the trip. Kind of a bummer because you'll be begging for more time snorkeling! The guide was awesomely helpful and definitely a cool guy. Very knowledgeable. Our trip was on September 19th. -daniel

Love it! The tour guide (Corey) was the best!!! I didn't know how to kayak or Snorkel... plus I don't know how to swim he was very patient and he shared some interesting things about the island. I would for sure go again!

Many people complain that the hike is only 15-20 min. But also nobody realizes that after hiking we have to do kayak, which is tiring. The whole adventure is super cool. The place is amazing. And the guide Cory is very friendly. My friend and I had tons of fun!

This tour was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone. The hike up the hill wasn't too hard at all and the views at the top were beautiful. Kayaking over to Chinaman's Hat was fun and you don't need to be a fitness freak to do it. Once again, the views on the island were beautiful and snorking was lots of fun. Lunch was provided, which was delicous!

The guide on this tour was great but the tour consisted of a 20 min "hike", 30 min kayak one way to an Island, 45 min snorkel in only 3 feet max of water and then 30 min kayak back to the main Island. They gave no warnings of what not to touch or anything like that. Lunch is only 1/2 a sandwich, a bag of chips and a drink. Deffinetly not a full day tour or worth the money we paid for it.

Loved it! I have never been in a Kayak in my life and it was a great start! The hike and snorkeling was also great, saw some great sea turtles and Fish. Our guide Chris was great also! Good day out!

The hike part of the tour was more of a stroll up a small hill to look at where we would be kayaking and so a long way short of what we were expecting. That aside it was a great day ,the kyaking to the island of Chinaman's Hat more than made up for the lack of hiking. Our guide was a really nice guy who looked after us well and was a font of all knowledge. This trip is really worth doing.

Good experience. Hike was very light...would have likes to do more. Lunch was half sandwich, chips, soft drink, cookies...not much but enough. Kayaking and snorkeling was great.

The kayaking experience was great. It was almost two miles roundtrip to Chinaman's Hat from the beach. The hike was not very worthwhile and the snorkeling was in too shallow of water to enjoy.

We were picked up by Jeremy, our guide for the day. During the ride out, he provided a lot of insight into the local community and some of its issues. Reaching the area for the adventure, we were directed to where the kayaks were kept, while adventure participants who had their own transportation were rounded up. In our group for the day, besides the guides, there were 4 single seat kayaks and 3 dual kayaks. Based on our experience, those folks in the dual kayaks had an easier time paddling. We paddled out to the island in the brochure picture and snorkled and ate lunch there then paddled back. The short hike at the end provided a great view of the island. This was a great trip and my only regret was that we didn't have time to do it again

I had a great time doing this trip and am glad that I did it. However, it whets the appetite for more. First, the hike is only about a 15 minute walk, so nothing big. I expected something longer. Second, it only takes about a half hour to kayak to the island. On the island, there is not much to do, and the water was too rough for snorkeling. The guide was great, however.
