Departing from Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor on Oahu's beautiful North Shore, you may see Hawaiian green sea turtles, dolphins and humpback whales (depending on the season) during the 3 mile (5 km) cruise to your shark-filled destination.

Then the shark cage is floated on the surface of the water and you have the option to step inside for an Oahu shark diving encounter you'll never forget. The water is cobalt blue and visibility is approximately 200 feet (60 meters) or more so you can actually see the sharks come up from the deep.

If you choose to enter the cage, you'll spend approximately 20-30 minutes in the water viewing these magnificent creatures up close. The cage holds two people very comfortably and can hold up to four people at a time, depending on the weather conditions.

If you do not wish to enter the shark cage, there will be ample surface viewing opportunities as the sharks circle the boat.

The sharks commonly sighted on the North Shore shark adventure include the gray reef, Galapagos, sandbar and hammerhead, ranging in size from 5 feet to 15 feet (1.5 meters to 4.5 meters). These sharks will swim only inches away from the cage!

The safety of passengers is the number one priority and a safety briefing is given at the start of the tour. You may bring your own mask and snorkel although fins are not necessary. Masks and snorkels are also provided on the vessel. You are encouraged to bring an underwater camera as you'll be able to get some of the best photographs of sharks possible anywhere in Hawaii.

awesome ! on the way out we saw whales and spinner dolphins . mack and his deck hand were very inform. and friendly . you could tell they really enjoyed there job. my daughter and i felt safe and had alot of fun. are video tape was good but not great. over all five star !

The Oahu Shark Dive was awesome! I had no idea what to expect, so I stayed open-minded and predicted what it was going to be like. I was completely wrong! I NEVER would have believed that there would have been so many sharks to see! From small to large,don't get me wrong sorry no JAWS( large),but large enough to eat me! Your given a perfect amount of time to be in the water see them all take pictures and be in awe. I didn't give the fifth star probably because of insurance reasons, my crazy a_s would have loved to feed them and see them tear up some food! Thats it,though.... NO complaints from Chicago traveler Matt.. If your looking for a shark tour take this one!!! Well worth every penny and you will be satisfied...

December is not the time for smooth water! Our first trip was canceled due to rough water, but they rescheduled and it worked out that we were able to go. Arriving at the "dive" site it was not long until the first fin was seen! This was before anyone was even in the cage! Being in the first group to get in the cage was so exciting. There were sharks everywhere---wow! Scary but at the same time awsome. This is a great way to observe sharks while being completely safe.

The crew was fun and professional. Over all, the entire shark dive was amazing and extremely safe. However this is highly not recommended for people who are prone to motion sickness, the waters are extremely choppy. Threw up quite abit.

This was a very cool and worthwhile experience! The trip was approximately 2 hours long and each group of 5 or 6 got approximately 20 minutes in the cage. There were a fair number of sharks swimming around the cage at all times. The crew at North Shore Shark Adventures was very good and provided interesting information about the sharks. The ocean swells were fairly large the day we went, so take sea-sickness medication before leaving land if you have issues with it!

Not for people that get sea sick, as the ride out got a bit rough, but the experience was amazing. The water is crystal clear and there are plenty of sharks for you to look at. Although I was a bit nervous, at no stage did I feel unsafe. The crew were very accommodating and friendly.

This was fun.... sharks were only galapogos, but there were about 5-6 and up to about 8ft. It's pretty hard to hold onto your camera and the cage at the same time as the swell tends to bash you around a bit.

Really enjoyable experience - loads of sharks really close to the cage. The staff were excellent. And you have the option of purchasing a personal dvd - only problem was that if you weren't purchasing you were asked to go to the far side of the cage so as people who are purchasing can be filmed - however this is the best shark spotting position. Also says 20-30 mins in cage, we got 15 as their were a lot of people. Overall though well worth the experience.

Amazing!!!!! Not a lot else to say. We drove ourselves to the boat but for a little extra North Shore Shark advetures will pick you up from your hotel. There were loads of sharks to see when we were there and it is just as the photo shows. Just one word of warning, if you are not a sailor (like me) or even if you are be prepared for some rough seas (it was the first day of big swells when we visisted). There were a few casualties of sea sickness on our boat. I would advise taking something in advance. But definitely do it.

Highlight of our trip! Well worth the money. I recommend going early when the sea is calm...water can get rough in late morning and afternoon. I recommend combining this tour with some snorkeling at Shark Cove.

Boat captain and first mate were excellent, explaining safety, talking about the sharks, and providing support throughout the tour. Boat and cage were in excellent condition. Major drawback was the weather and ocean conditions. Neither the North Shore Shark Adventures website nor Viator's site talk about any possibility of rough water. Would suggest putting a comment on both websites about the possibility of severe waves and seasickness. 8 out of 12 people on our tour got sick, some throwing up over the side of the boat. This caused the tour to be less than exciting to say the least. I understand the weather can't be predicted, but a caution statement about weather and seasickness before booking would be helpful.

I was notified that we have to be there a half an hour early for the dive. We were only five minutes away from getting there and they refused to wait just five minutes. We had to reschedule and were charged an extra $45 per person. With the late charges, the dive wasn't worth the money.

This was a great adventure! My husband and I had a blast. Our guides were very nice and informative. It is scary at first but after about a minute, it is just beautiful. I would highly recommend this to everyone. I do not know how to swim at all and felt completely safe without a life jacket.

A brilliant trip! With lots of sharks and friendly staff. I was scared to start with, but there is no need to be and I relaxed later on. Me bikini top untied itself while in the cage, remember to tie it properly! Definitely worth going if you are interested in sharks!

This tour was the best thing i have ever done! The sharks come right up to the cage. At first i was a bit afraid, but once the cage was in the water, it was totally awesome. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a bit of adventure.

Besides being surrounded by dozens of sharks, it's pretty cool to be out on the high sea off Oahu's North Shore with this tour. The crew were fantastic, they obviously know heaps about sharks, and they speak about them with plenty of respect. Great boat, and I bought a little underwater camera on board ($15!) so I got some memories to take home as well.

Awesome experience and the two crew were great. Very friendly and informative, they even told us where to go to see turtles on the beach and where they film the show 'Lost' Had more than enough time in the water and we were surrounded by at least 40 sharks. There was also only 4 of us in the cage at a time which was great. We saw other companies that offer the shark adventure but I must say, the boat didn't look half as nice and there seemed to be a lot of people on the boat too. I did research before booking and believe I made the right decision 100%. I wasn't sure if I was going to go in the water at first but now I would absolutely do it again as this is an experience not to be missed.
