Bob Marley Jeep Safari from Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Come visit the birth place of the 'King of Reggae'! Nine Mile is both the birth place and final resting place of reggae legend Bob Marley. Listen to the knowledgeable guides tell stories of Bob's childhood! Stand on Mount Zion Rock, where Bob used to meditate and rest your head on 'the pillow' that was made famous in the song 'Talking Blues'! This tour is a must for all reggae fans!

This tour takes you through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Jamaica, traveling via Higgin Town and Claremont to the village of Nine Mile. It was in this quaint little place in the beautiful mountains of St. Ann where Bob Marley was born. It was also here, in 1981, that the legendary king of reggae was laid to rest.

A tour of Nine Mile is a family affair, as many of Bob's close family continue to live in the village. The tour takes you through the house Bob lived in as a young boy and your Rastafarian guide will share with you little-known insights of Bob Marley's childhood and musical career. Finally, take a walk through the mausoleum, Bob Marley's final resting place.

The return trip is a continuation of your excursion through rural Jamaica, as you wind your way through picturesque Lime Hall and St. Ann's Bay back to the North Coast.

This was a great tour in spite of the rough roads, well worth taking. Fun to be around fellow travelers who also enjoy music. The guide was very helpful in providing info about Jamaica's history and we learned a lot. The stops are frequent but short, so you have to be fast with a camera. I recommend it.

This trip was the best I've ever been on. I highly recommend it. Bob Marley's place and Nine Mile is Jamaica's history and culture, so everyone should see it. Our driver was hilarious, he made the trip up the mountain a lot of fun and he showed us a lot of points of interest and explained everything. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, and trust me, we did. Bob Marley's place was great and they had a really good reggae band there. Don't stand on Mt. Zion, only sitting on it is allowed. Nice things to buy there, but gift shop is quite small and crowded. Prices were a lot cheaper than our hotel gift shop though and it just felt better buying things from there, maybe more authentic. Would highly recommend this trip, not for small children though.

The tour was great! The tour guide was very informative, not only about Bob Marley but also about Jamaica's schools, fruits and plants. He would stop and give explanations about these things as we saw them.

Good tour, safe driver. The driver seemed to know more than he would share as the guides from the tour must have complained he was giving too much away on the way up. A good tour alternative if you don't want to get a taxi.

We were very disappointed that we were required to "check in" two days before our adventure. Not only did no one answer the phone, but there was no answering machine to leave a message. When we were finally able to get someone on the phone the day of, she tried to tell us that our ride had already left at about 8 am when our instructions on paper were to be ready at 9:20 am. When she heard my irate girlfriends in the background, she had me on hold for 10 minutes before stating that she had found someone to pick us up at 11:30 am. The ride was interesting and informative, but the headache it took to get to our destination left MUCH to be desired!

Great ride through the Jamaican countryside and exposure to the culture. Beware of the children near Bob Marley's mausoleum, they can be aggressive.

Great tour guide, fun and entertaining. The Bob Marley birthplace is definitely worth seeing. Got a bit hungry after five hours, should have brought some food or had a food stop at noon.
