Auvers sur Oise and Giverny Small Group Day Trip from Paris

Paris, France

Pay homage to Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet on a full-day small group tour from Paris. You'll take a guided tour of Auvers sur Oise, the village where Vincent van Gogh spent his last 100 days and travel to Giverny to see Monet's house and gardens. You'll be picked up and dropped off at your centrally located Paris hotel by air-conditioned minivan. Maximum of only 8 passengers and ensures you'll receive individual attention from your expert tour guide.

Travel to Giverny to visit Claude Monet's house and gardens. Your tour takes in Monet's restored home, garden and workshop at Giverny, where Monet lived from 1883 to 1926. A particular highlight is the water-lily pond with its famous Japanese bridge which featured in many of Monet's masterpieces.

Visit the Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny. Artists traveled to Giverny to meet Claude Monet and draw inspiration from his impressionist techniques. Next, enjoy lunch at the Moulin de Fourges before arriving at Auvers sur Oise.

The final stop on your artists' tour before returning to Paris is a visit to Auvers sur Oise, where Vincent van Gogh painted his last works before his death here in 1890.

Tour of Monet's home and gardens well worth the trip. Guide was informative and friendly. One of the best trips I have taken from Paris. Meal at a 17th century mill was a pleasant surprise.

Overall, this was an interesting trip, and the arrangements worked out well. Our guide/driver Andre picked us up on time and returned us on time. The sites were very interesting, although Giverny was very crowded the day we visited (Auvers sur Oise was not). My only slight complaint is that, while Andre was knowledgeable and did a good job of pointing out items of interest, he did seem a bit detached and "going through the motions" as opposed to being actively engaged and enthusiastic with us. A minor quibble, and it could be written off to the differences between French and American temperaments!

This was an excellent trip and very well organised. Pick up was on time, only 4 on the trip in a small minibus. At Monet's Garden early before large crowds - absolutley stunning. Lunch at a nearby mill was very tasty and included in the price. Visit to Auvers sur Oise was very informative regarding the last 100 days of Van Gough's life. Taken to many excellent locations within the town related to Van Gough. Only a quick journey then back to Paris to be dropped at our hotel. Do not miss this trip.

This trip was the highlight of my trip to Paris. Our guide was on time for pick up, easy to talk to and knowledgeable of the areas and the painters! Lunch was included and was very good as well. A great value for anyone wanting to venture out of Paris to see the countryside and the beautiful gardens of Monet's house. Also a perfect excursion for a Van Gogh fan (you will see all the best sites of Auvers!).

It was a wonderful day. The guide, being Scottish, spoke perfect English and was extremely knowledgeable. The lunch at the country inn, however, was dreadful along with the bad wine. Definitely a stop for tourists.Until then I didn't think one could get a bad meal in France. But the tour itself was great.

The tour included two people who needed French commentary, so the tour guide spoke constantly if not in English then in French, it was endless and made the experience unpleasant. The meal was ordinary and the reason we picked a small group was to have something more intimate not a rushed mass produced lunch.

Traveling with a small group in a minivan was great fun. We had plenty of time in Giverny and Auvers, as well as a lovely lunch al fresco at Fourges. Add sunshine and a blue sky....and it doesn't get much better!

Enjoyed the visit to Auvers sure Oise and Giverny. The small group is the way to go to get personalized attention. A nice visit to the lives of Van Gogh and Monet.

Loved that the tour was a small group that provided more personalized attention. The combo of Auvers sur Oise with Giverny was a great treat. How can you beat Monet and Van Gogh.

This was one of the best day tours I have experienced from Paris. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable (and entertaining) about Monet, Van Gogh, the Impressionists and world events. There were three of us in our minibus and although it was raining in the morning, we were able to enjoy the beauty of the gardens without the usual crowds once an umbrella had been purchased. The weather turned sunny in the afternoon which made our visit to Auvers sur Oise totally enjoyable. The lunch at Fourges was good but a vegetarian option would have been appreciated by my two travelling companions.

Great, Celine got us to the garden before the major crowed came, still it was a bit "full". The trip to Van Gogh tiny hotel room was awesome, and seeing the actual copies of the pictures along the road made the event even more special. Thank you

I had a really excellent day with a guide who paid attention to detail and gave a very good overview of the things I needed to know. Probably more time at Monet's Garden would have made it more perfect.

Gaetano picked and drop off on time. Monet's place was fantastic. So was Van Gogh. He gave plenty of information and restaurant food was fine. salad so, so. Chicken and potatoes super. The only bad thing was the rep that came with Gaetano smoked and every time we got back to the van it overwhelmed the air inside. Overall strong recommendation.

This was a great day. We had a fabulous guide -- knowledgeable and gracious. Traveling with just three other couples was ideal -- sociable but not intrusive. Lunch was lovely -- indeed, everything was as we'd hoped. Thank you, Viator!

fantastic day particularly with only a small group of people. Guide was knowledgable and I liked that I was left alone to wander and did not have to trail after others. Loved Monet's gardens and plan to go back in June next year. Vist teh L'Orangerie in Paris to view the large paintings - spectacular

Had a wonderful day, Our lady driver was very knowledgable about Moet and van Gogh Loved Monets garden especially the shop, enjoyed the American art museum a short walk away and there was no wait for the toilets! Had lunch in a beautiful spot then went to Auvers sur Oise where van Gogh painted and where he is buried. We had to walk up hill to the church and up through the paddock to where he painted the wheat fields and blackbirds and to the cemetery, It was quite hot and exhausting and it would have been nice if we could have been driven to these places! Apart from that it was a most enjoyable day, full of happy memories for me!

The tour itself was wonderful, with an excellent guide. The only negative about the experience was poor communication and direction from Viator andor Paris Vision, as we were given two places to go in the morning to catch the tour bus our hotel was just outside of Paris, so they were unable to pick us up. We went extra early to one place and were told to go to the other, so we walked there. Upon arrival, we were told we were at the wrong place, so hurried back to meet the tour bus at the original location we had gone to. This was stressful and confusing, but once the tour started, it was a very nice day.

Very informative and enjoyable. Perhaps the lunch time could be reduced and that extra time rather allocated to an extra stop to take photos.

May was the perfect time to visit Giverny. We knew it, and so did the hundreds of other visitors. Even if I hadn't liked everything else about the tour by Minivan, it would have been worth the cost just to go to the head of the line and avoid the 2-hour wait independent travelers had to suffer. There were no hassles like other people would have had to deal with getting to Giverney by train then bus/taxi, and no parking hassles. The ride through the countryside was very enjoyable. Our driver/guide knew the area well and was very forthcoming with info about where we were, highlights about the area, and historical facts. The scenery was lovely. Lunch was better than I expected, although the wine wasn't very good. Auvers sur Oise was enjoyable too, and there was enough time to get a good look around. It was a very nice tour which I would recommend highly. As a solo traveler it was especially enjoyable to share the day with others. And you gotta love being collected and dropped off at your hotel door.

I have always loved Monet and was very happy to see his home. It was great, but would have been nicer if the tour guide came into the home with the group to point out various things. Another tour guide from a different company was speaking to her group, so I listened in and learned much more than if I was just observing what was in the house. The tour of the Van Gogh town was an eye-opener and gave me new insight into the artist. Great tour...don't miss it

The gardens at Giverny were far more extensive and amazing than I had imagined, while the house was slightly less impressive than I had expected. Still, it's terrific to see the things Monet painted in situ and to walk through his kitchen - a rhapsody in blue tile, - and to imagine what it would have been like dining with him in that cheerful yellow dining room. _br /__br /_ The exhibition at the museum of American painters down the road was a real treat. Totally unexpected. A great temporary exhibition. _br /__br /_ We could have skipped Auvers sur Oise, though it was most touching to see that Van Gogh and his brother Theo have the most humble gravestones in the local cemetery, and yet it's because of them that we all travel to Auvers to pay our respects.

The tour was well organised and we were ushered past the waiting queues at both Giverny and Auvers. We were collected on time from our accommodation - I was surprised that the tour still went ahead when there were only the two of us.
