Champagne Region Day Trip from Paris by Minivan

Paris, France

This tour will take you to the heart of the Champagne country to discover the history and secrets of "The King of Wines". You'll visit world-renowned champagne house of Moet and Chandon and tour the historic city of Reims, the capital of the Champagne region. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 people on this small group tour, ensuring you'll receive personalized attention from your guide.

Your tour begins at Reims Cathedral. A magnificent Gothic church acclaimed for it's striking stained glass windows, where the kings of France were once crowned.

The rest of the morning is spent near Epernay where you will visit a traditional vine grower's. Depending on the season, you will get the chance to see the grapes being pressed or the wine blended. Whatever the season you'll get to taste the finished product with a glass of the vineyard's own champagne.

You will stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant in the center of Epernay, featuring the cuisine of the Champagne region.

In the afternoon the tour continues to the world famous champagne house of Moet and Chandon. An expert wine maker will share insights into the production of champagne, you'll take a tour of the cellars and enjoy a tasting session with a glass of champagne.

Great tour - good to see both a small and a larger champagne cellar. Wish there hadn't been so many vans in the same group, but otherwise great.

Beautiful day to the Champagne region about 2 hours outside of Paris. Really interesting to learn so much about the history and making of champagne. Everyone we met was extremely friendly although I feel the tour guide could have been a little more informative of the region during our 2 hour ride. We had a really enjoyable day in a gorgeous area of the country.

The Champagne Region Day Trip was a highlight to our Trip to France. Our driver Paulo was very informative, interesting and really made the trip memorable. We loved the region and felt very welcomed at each place we visited. It was lovely to sit around the table at lunchtime and to talk to other people on the Day trip from other countries. That was a real highlight. We loved the fact that there were only a small number in our group (7) which meant we were able to embark and disembark the minivan quickly and not have to wait in lines or struugle to hear tour guides as you can do if your in large group. Well worth thr extra cost. Thoroughly enjoyed and throroughly recommended.

Great day! Ended up being 3 minivans with the same company doing exactly the same as our group! So wasn't quite the small group atmosphere we expected but still great seeing a small champagne maker and Moet and Chandon too!

Our guide/driver was really interesting when we got to hear him. At each of the venues however we were in a larger English speaking group. Not the maximum eight we were promised. The small producer was great, the larger was a waste of time. That part was very disappointing. The only person we saw there was a sales rep!

Picked up on time at the hotel, and then escorted through the countryside to the wine growing areas, driver very knowledgeable and informative. Trip to the winery was interesting and the processing unique, and you get to see a small winery and a large one and to taste each of their offerings. The steps are formidable to get to the wine areas underground and my wife was only able to make one of the two trips down, but she enjoyed it and my 150 picutres proved it. The lunch was spectacular and the walk through the park to the second winery was as enjoyable as the trip through the winery itself. Well worth doing and seeing the area outside of Paris also.

From the prompt 07.00 pick up at the apartment where we were staying to the 17.00 drop off at the door, this was a highly professional but relaxed and friendly day. The programme is well balanced (cathedral, two contrasting wineries and a wonderful lunch). with a pleasant sized group and excellent guide (Ian). All that was missing : not sure how you would create the time but we would have liked to explore Epernay on foot. Thank you!

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Champage region as well as other notable churches and history along our tour - and very personable. I would have liked more "tastings" than just the two we went to. I did enjoy the explanations of the making of champagne and meeting the mayor of a small village of 250. Still, we enjoyed the whole experience and the intimacy of an 8 passenger van. We believe it was well worth the trip.

We had just flown in from Melbourne and Paris was our Jet Lag stop - the winery trip was a great.way to help recover They picked us up from our hotel in a late model van and took care of everything. Shared the trip with only one other couple from Australia and a lady from the south America. A very personal experience. The smaller winery was very friendly, Moet Chandon was "grand". Lunch was brilliant, Guide most informative. Great way to see some more of the French countryside without the hassle of doing it yourself. Happy to recommend this tour to anyone.

We had a great day going to the Champagne Region. Our guide Selena was very friendly and informative and she was also our translator at a local champagne house. The first stop was at the Reims Cathedral and that was a bit disappointing but the highlight was the Moet and Chandon Cellars.

This was the best trip! The tour guide was friendly and insightful. The country was beautiful and we enjoyed traveling with a small group to see the small and large champagne houses. We took three Viator tours this time when we visited Paris -- we will definitely use Viator in the future!

A beautiful drive in the Champagne region with plenty of information about the wine growing region and the composition of the chalk soils which create the unique conditions for Champagne. The Reims Cathedral visit was much more relaxed than Notre Dame in Paris and the stained glass windows by Marc Chagall added an interesting twist to this historic monument. The winerys visited were very informative and the tasting was excellent. The lunch provided in Epernay was exceptional and very much enjoyed. The minivan tours are good value and provide a little more flexibility around the schedule. A very enjoyable day. Highly recommended.

Our tour guide was excellent; very knowledgeable and engaging. I was disappointed with the vegetarian meal request as it seemed to have been missed. All I received was as tossed salad and a plate of noodles. The dessert was good, however.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day. However when we stopped in a small village the descriptions of the area by a local had to be translated but were done so quite badly. The guides should speak better English. Also, our guide did not give a lot of explanations along the journey - compared to the guide that took us to Versailles. However the tours of the 2 vineyards we visited - Dauby and Moet and Chandon were excellent.

The whole experience was very nice. Would have been five stars if our guide had given us more info on the cathedral. I noticed that one of the other guides in another van accompanied his group into the cathedral adn gave them a little history. Also, although from the advertisement you assume a small group with 8 people in a van, but we met up with two other vans at each stop and at lunch

This is a great tour, but please don't think that its "private" as it suggests. Although you are in an 8 person van, you meet up with other vans and take the tours together, so really its more like 30 people, not worth the extra charge if you ask us!! The tour guide was wonderful but we wish we would have been able to upgrade our tastings at the champagne houses. Lunch was OK. It would have been nice to have a bit more time to explore the small areas of the region but over all a good tour but NOT SMALL AND PRIVATE!!!

It was everything I expected. We had a very personable private tour driver/guide. The wineries we visited were superb. It was very enjoyable sharing the tour with only one other couple--if the tour had a maximum of eight in the van it wouldn't have been as nice.

We most definitely enjoyed our tour. All the people we met in the wine business were warm and cordial with loads of information about what they do. The minivan trip was great, too; Celine did a great job of driving and providing ongoing informative chat of where we were, what we were seeing, the history of the area and tidbits on life and living in the region. We loved it!! Of course, the Champagne tastings were terrific, too!!

Had a great time with a great guide who was informative despite being new to the trip. Car was comfortable enough for the long trip and the compolsory sleep after lots of champaigne consumed. Lunch was fairly reasonable but staff not attentive at restaurant at all. Tours at champaigne houses were informative. _br/_ Overall a great trip and completly hassle free

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip mainly because our guide was polite, considerate and knowledgeable. We were a bit late due to the traffic in Paris and for this reason we didn't have much time to really visit the Cathedrale de Reims. I would have prefer spending more time there and skip the tour of the first Champagne house.
