I was in Paris for work, but I decided to take one day free to visit Mont St Michel at the Normandy shore. I took a one day tour from Paris organized by Cityrama. It departed at Am from Downtown Paris, near Louvre Museum. The bus was very comfortable, although the trip is really too long. It takes more than 4 hours and a half to get there, including a half hour stop in a little nice village in the Normandy, in the middle of the "Cider route", so I bought a Calvados bottle there! :-)_br/_ We arrived to the Mont St Michel area, the only con of this trip is that we lost 1 hour having a lousy lunch in a very bad attended restaurant one kilometer far from the island, instead of having the opportunity of enjoying more time inside the medieval village._br/_ They took us to the Abbey first, with a guided tour for around one hour and a half, which was very good. The place is amazing, specially if you think that it was built since VII to XI century!_br/_ After the tour, we had one more hour to stroll around the village, which is beautiful, although too crowded with tourists. I took hundred of pictures, the place is SO scenographic and it surprise with every step._br/_ We started our way back to PAris at 4.30, and arrived to our starting point at 9.15 PM._br/_ My only critic is that it is too much travel on bus (9 hours), to stay just 3 hours in the Abbey and the village._br/_ If you have time, I strongly recommend you to arrive after mid-day, check in in a hotel in the village (they are pretty small old hostels and B and B), visit the Abbey, and stay for the evening in the village after all the tourists leaves. This should be much a more enjoyable experience._br/_ Next day you can visit Omaha Beach and the other D-Day sites, which are just 30 minutes away drive. Of course you need a car for that.

The guide was great, everything ran smoothly. It would have been useful to know to arrive before 7.15am - I got there then and was the last one to arrive! Maybe could clearly state to arrive 15 minutes before. Overall, a very enjoyable day and a practical way to see this landmark in 1 day from Paris.

This tour was very well organized. Comfortable coach bus, excellent lunch provided with a wonderful view of Mont Saint Michel. The tour guide at Mont Saint Michel was also excellent and provided a detailed description of the history and life at Mont Saint Michel. My two teenage daughters also enjoyed the trip and the tour. I would have enjoyed a little more time to explore the village and the area. Overall, it was worth the time and money. I would definitely book with Viator again. Easy to book and a great tour!

I'm 24 years old and went on this trip by myself. The guided tour of Mont Saint Michel lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. Afterwards, we were able to walk around the abbey ourselves, as well as check out the souvenir shops and restaurants/creperies. This is definitely a unique trip and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I would have liked to have had a longer stop at the Norman Village and more time on our own at Mont Saint Michel. Lunch was so-so. However, the Abby was fantastic and the guide very knowledgeable.

Where do I begin with the nightmare? Just after leaving Paris the full bus broke down and we had to wait for a long time on the side of the highway and it was forbidden to leave the bus for fresh air or to stretch the legs. We waited a long time for the rescue bus, which happened to be a school bus with uncomfortable seats and no air conditioning. With this lengthy delay we finally stopped for lunch, but the venue was hot, they had no air conditioning and the staff were not welcoming. They didn't give us a choice for the meal. The monument itself is worth seeing, but will all the drama, I could not recommend this day trip.

A long day, did not return until about 9.30 pm. A good way to see western France by coach on the way to Mt St Michel. Lunch was pleasant and the guide was excellent. Stacks of school kids at the Abbey, but the whole day was worthwhile.

Lunch was a rip off and a waste of time. Long wait and nothing to boast about. Trip would have been more enjoyable if we had been given more time in the village. Hardly enough time to find the toilet or queue up for a drink. Should have picked the tour without lunch so we could have more time to explore the village.

This is a 14 hour tour from hell. What the tour description on this website does not tell you is that you sit in the bus for 5 hours on your way to Mont Saint Michel. You eat a mediocre lunch, have about 1.5 hours at Mont Saint Michel, and then have a 5 hour bus ride home. 10 hours on a bus is not worth it for this sight. _br/_ Our tour guide on the Mont was great, very informative, but overall, this is a overrated day trip. Your time and money would be better spent elsewhere.

Excellent tour also, very informative and the stop in Beuvron an excellent idear. Would like it to be about 15 minutes longer even with a long day. The crowd management and direction as well as professionalism and helpfulness at the Pick Up point (Pyramid location) was greatly lacking. The food was excellent and the entire day enjoyable once on the bus.

I've always wanted to see this site and it exceeded my expectations. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the audio system was good because we could wander away and still hear her commentary.
