Paris Bike Tour

Paris, France

See Paris like a Parisian on a tour by bicycle! Whether it's your first or fifth time in Paris, this bike tour is the perfect way to travel from sight to sight at a leisurely pace. Getting around Paris by bicycle is the ideal orientation if you're new to Paris, and return visitors will discover new facts and hear new stories about the city they love. Either way, you are sure to agree that riding a bike is the best way to see Paris.

Not the least bit strenuous, the bike tour is relaxing, energizing and fun. Stopping every few hundred yards for information and photo opportunities, the tour provides heaps of useful information, unique and fascinating stories, the opportunity to meet other travelers, and fantastic photo opportunities.

The bikes are comfortable and you'll receive superb personal service from your guide. During the day there is a break at a cafe nestled in the trees of the Tuileries Gardens. For a very reasonable price, you can enjoy a mouth-watering strawberry crepe, a delicious chicken sandwich on baguette bread, or creme brulee.

Sights on the Paris Bike Tour include:

  • Eiffel Tower - The most famous landmark in Paris. Built for the World Exposition of 1889. It stood as the tallest building in the world until New York's Chrysler Building in 1930.
  • The Louvre Museum - Originally built as a fort by King Philippe-Auguste in 1190. Now one of the grandest museums in the world. The most famous works include the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.
  • Napoleon's Tomb and Les Invalides - This is where you can find the most famous Frenchman of all - Napoleon. In 1789 French citizens stole tens of thousands of muskets from here to use in the raid on the Bastille. The Revolution had begun!
  • Ecole Militaire - Literally translating to "military school" in English. Napoleon studied here and his discharge papers stated that he "could go far if the circumstances are right."

You will also see the Arc de Triomphe, the Rodin Museum, Place de la Concorde, the Orsay Museum, Assembly Nationale, the Alexander III Bridge, the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais, La Madeleine, UNESCO, the Champs-Elysees, the Tuileries Gardens and much more that you can only see with the freedom of bicycles!

Good overview of Paris. It rained when we went which made it a little harder but still enjoyable. We went on a Sunday which meant the roads were not as busy. I would recommend doing it on a Sunday!

I love Fat Tire Bike Tours! I also did a tour with this company in London and they are fabulous. The Paris tour takes you past many of the major sights and the guide has great stories about all of them. He was entertaining and funny - a must for keeping a large group engaged - and the ride was made as pleasant as possible. The bikes are very comfortable and the tour company makes sure everyone is at ease before and during the tour itself.

Started my birthday morning with the bike tour and it was amazing! Beautiful sites and excellent tour guide. I wholeheartedly recommend the tour, great way to see the city without having to walk it and learn its history.

Fantastic! Was such a nice change to ride rather than walk to see the sites. Covered tons of ground at a nice leisurely pace. Loved that we stopped at the little outdoor cafe in the gardens of the Louvre for lunch. Totally recommend doing this bike tour!

The bike tour was a really fun time, and a nice way to preview Paris. As luck had it, we got really good weather so it was a pleasure riding around the streets. The ride was easy and while I thought it would be challenging for me, as I haven't ridden a bike in years, it was pretty doable. Note that you also get to have lunch together near The Louvre in the park - that was a lovely and a nice way to interact with other people in the group. Our tour guide Jeff was funny, positive and careful about everything. Would definitely recommend this to others.

It was OK, but it was a little hairy at times crossing major roads with a group of 20.

Had so much fun on this tour learning about Paris. Andree the dominator was awesome. Paris traffic is crazy and at no stage was it daunting. So professionally organized in a fun way. Loved how we could ask any questions. Lunch in the park was a high light and when we got back they became the tourist information centre with great tips and places to go. This tour made me fall in love with Paris and its history. Highly recommended to any one

One of the best tours we did in Paris. Bike Tours are always fun. Got to see things we missed including Napoleans Tomb as well as other sites. This tour takes you to the best place to take a picture of the Eiffel Tower in Paris!

This tour was a great introduction to the city. Billy is a wonderful tour guide - positive, outgoing, and with a depth of knowledge behind the standard "tour guide descriptions". Note, however, that the tour does not visit the Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triumph, or Rodin Museum, and barely passes the Orsay, despite the advertisement. I still found the tour quite enjoyable and worth the money, good to do early in your trip so you know what you might like to come back to. Would love to have a similar tour for "off the beaten path" type places to visit.

My daughter and I went on this bike tour on our first day in Paris. I was concerned that the bike tour would be too much for us after a long flight but the riding was enjoyable. The tour guide was very friendly, in fact quite funny, and gave us a wonderful overview of the city and important monuments. The biking was not hard at all and good for both young and old. There are a couple of times on the trip that we had to cross a major road but no one seemed to have any problems. I would definitely go on this tour again.

Good and fun way to discover Paris, just a bit disappointed that we didn't see more sights as we spent most of the time at a Cafe for lunch (at our own expense). The tour guide got his lunch there for free and enjoyed free drinks. So he was not in a rush to get back on his bike. Our expectations were to see more sights and have lunch after the tour.

The tour meets at Eiffel tower and then walks you back to their offices to collect bikes...a complete waste of nearly an hor before you actually put foot to pedal. You don't actually enter any sites and you miss important landmarks like notes dame

Colin was a great tour guide. I just wished he opened the floor at the end of every stop to ask for questions, but I do understand that this would make the tour longer and it's important to keep the time firm.

What our guide lacked in historical and cultural knowledge he made up for in enthusiasm. He needed to be very enthusiastic. He demonstrated a particular forte for ignoring all the rules of the road, leading our group of cyclists through several red lights and haphazardly around roundabouts. I was surprised that the whole party survived the tour unscathed, but it did make me thankful to still be alive and I subsequently enjoyed my holiday so much more. It was also worthwhile experiencing the pure hatred that the Parisians feel towards this particular tour operator. Overall I would recommend this tour if you are the kind of person who thinks everything is AWESOME!!! Otherwise I would hire your own bike and cruise around independently.,
