Paris Walking Tour - The French Revolution
Paris, France
History comes alive on the Paris Revolution Walking Tour, exploring one of the most important events in modern history. On this fascinating two-hour stroll through Paris' tumultuous history, you'll learn about the troubled times that led up to the storming of the Bastille, the capture of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, the Reign of Terror and the bloody results of the guillotine.
Sights of the French Revolution Walking Tour include:
Bastille Prison - the raiding of this prison sparked the French Revolution
Les Invalides - over 30,000 arms were stolen from here in order to attack the Bastille
Place de la Concorde - site of the beheadings of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, among many others
Tuileries Palace - the site of the royal palace that served as a prison for King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette in the Tuileries Gardens
Conciergerie - the prison overlooking the Seine River where Marie Antoinette was held
National Assembly - site of the lower house of the French Legislative branch
Reign of Terror - the years following the Revolution that saw chaos, betrayal and murder

This was the first time I tried doing something like this and it was a lot of fun. My guide was knowledgeable and personable and perfect for the job. This was a nice change from the do it yourself guides that I have done on previous trips to Europe.

Travis was incredible! He gave us such good information, was open to questions, and was mindful of our comfort and safety on a very busy day in Paris. HIs tour really pulled together the various pieces of Paris we had seen on our own.

This tour goes along almost the same route as the Classis Paris walking tour with almost the same commentary. Disappointed because I expected to see the site of Bastille which we did not and that we walked the same r oute as on the Classic Paris tour.

We highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Marion, was knowledgeable and made our foodie tour really interesting. We covered aspects of French history and gastronomy while walking through the Saint Germaine area (Latin Quartier). Finally gathering together all our purchases to make a picnic with a bottle of French wine from a nearby store. Thankyou, Marion, for a lovely morning.

Very interesting history lesson wandering about Paris. You get to appreciate a lot more about what went on than just walking by yourself.

This was a most interesting walking tour and we came away certainly understanding the Revolution more - the 2 hours passed very quickly but we had plenty of time to take everything in and ask questions which were answered fully.

Excellent tour with an excellent guide. This tour is very good for those who love History and want to have a close look at some of the places and scenes of the French Revolution, and therefore highly recomended for teens as well as university students and adults as well.

Hard to see enough in a short tour. Probably for me, needed to be more mobile like on a bus to visit all the sites I was interested in. Tour Guide very enjoyable.

Enjoyed the tour but the guide walked a bit fast so we missed a lot of things he was talking about from site to site. But overall very interesting and worth the money.

This tour was great, the guide was incredibly informative and enthusiastic, i was lucky to only have 3 other people on the tour with me, i can imagine that in the summer months the group can get quite a bit larger, but a great tour if you're interested in the French Revolution

If you are planning on going on any other tour with this tour company, I wouldn't recommend this one because you're going to see all the main sites twice, but as a tour focused on the French Revolution, it was very interesting.

A little too warm for a walking tour. Segway would have been better. Tour guide was an American. A little disappointed.

I enjoyed the tour and the guide made it interesting by actually acting out the characters. The only thing that I thought was not fair is that a couple who had not signed up for the trip showed up and they were only charged 12 euros. So I guess the thing to do is to just show up!
