The dazzling royal residence of Versailles is the largest and most sumptuous palace ever built by a reigning monarch, and is surrounded by gardens and parklands. The palace and gardens were designed by famous architects and decorators including Le Vau, Mansart and Le Notre.

The Versailles Independent Tour includes transfers from Paris, entrance fees to the gardens, Versailles Palace and the Grand Royal Apartments.

During the coach drive to Versailles, an audio commentary describing the various facets of court life under the reign of Louis 14th, the "Sun King", will help you prepare for your unguided visit to the Chateau and gardens. The audio commentary is available in French, English, Spanish, Germany, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Korean, Arabic, Russian, Greek, Japanese, Danish and Chinese-Mandarin.

Versailles Fountain Show Special Program:
April 3rd to October 31st (Saturdays & Sundays) and May 18th to June 29th (Tuesdays). For a selected time you have the option to see the magnificent fountain displays, which reveal the skill and artistry of 3 centuries of French garden design and engineering. The display is accompanied by music composed at the time of Louis XIV's court.

Note that entrance fees to the Versailles Fountain Show Special Program are NOT included. A supplement of approx. 8 euros (adult) is payable direct.

Versailles was absolutely wonderful, such a beautiful place with an abundance of history. The day we went it was a little crowded, even in the middle of the week! I recomend doing the morning tour since it does seem to pick up as the day progresses. I was told on the website that I would get four hours at Versailles and then they told us that we only had two so we were kinda rushing around trying to see everything, also the tour guide was not very helpful. So that is why I gave this trip a three. A little disappointed after I traveled so far to see this and have always wanted to go.

Not really satisfied. Basically I paid for ride there. Once I got to Versailles I had to use headset to hear about Versailles. Guide was not necessary. Very dissapointing. Will think twice about this type of "tour" again. I travel to Europe once a year and have a better understanding of Metro system.

Simple package which takes you from Paris to Versailles. Met just off from the entrance to the Louve and was quickly transported to Versailles. Bus took about 20 minutes to get there, thankfully there were no traffic issues. 8am tour had no line so we walked right in. Return trip was just as easy, boarded the bus and it took about the same tie to get back. If you are looking to continue your Paris adventure, great jumping point to other attractions once you return. Thought it was a little pricey considering it is just bus ride and ticket admission. Not even skip the line either. Self guided tour with free audio kits given by Versailles staff. However, because of the convienience we were satisfied.

Very good tour bus tour guides. The time was allotted was just enough to explore the inside of the Palace. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to find the gardens were closed. I wished that was mentioned to us earlier or a discounted price at least. I heard the gardens are a must-see!

We were given a free upgrade so had an English speaking guide rather than headphones. She was excellent - very informative and tried to make sure we didn't miss anything. We were there on a Sunday afternoon in late November and it was absolutely mobbed. It was still possible to enjoy the trip though and the gardens were much quieter. It was great catching the coach in central Paris and being taken there and back rather than having to organise public transport. It was a really comfortable coach and very well driven.

Beautiful day,we did have to wait in line to enter,about 15 minutes,which the guide added on to our time to stay.Took lots of photos,could have stayed there all day,did not feel we needed a guide to show us around,quite happy with the trip,Helen,Perth.W.A.

Parisians Tour guides aren't helpful and friendly at all. She didn't give us any map of the versailles palace and once you got in there, there was no way you can asked for a map. We asked another traveller from a different tour and they got the map from their guide in the bus. There wasn't a lot of explanatory given from the guide about versailles, well nothing. The guide also told us not to go to the garden, and I think our ticket might actually able to get us to go inside the garden without having to purchase another ticket. Versailles was packed and flooded with people, you have to squeezed to make your way around the palace. Overall wasn't a very good trip.

Enjoyed the palace, however, it was difficult to move around and see everything as there were so many people (it was a Sunday and the weather was good when we visited late September). We only managed to see a fraction of the gardens and had to leave just before the fountain display, which would have been nice to see. Overall, it was well-organised and the coach guide gave clear instructions.

I purchased tickets for four people. We had heard on Monday that there was going to be a strike by the employees at Versailles on Tuesday Morning, so I called the travel agency to question whether the trip was being cancelled. I was told that only the trains would be on strike. When we arrived at Versailles on Tuesday, it was closed until 11:00 because of the strike. The tour guide apologized saying they didn't know about that in advance. I said that they did because I had called about it the day before. We were told we could purchase tickets to the gardens and wait there until the castle opened. We did. The fountains were all shut off for the season and many of the plantings had been dug up for the year. That was a waste of our money. When the castle opened we had to stand in line forever and then had 45 minutes to rush through the tour. It was a horrible waste of time and money.

We loved Versailles, but the tour was very crowded and hard to see all the paintings and items in all the galleries. The audio was a little hard to follow, mostly due to the crowded conditions indoors, but the gardens and property was fantastic. Wish we had more time there.

Wow, this place is amazing and if you visit Paris put this at the top of your list! But I recommend you don't book the tour, we only had 1 hour 30 min before we had to get back on the bus! You need minimum of 4hrs to really appreciate this place the gardens are spectacular. We ended up staying and caught the train back to our hotel. It's only 15 euro per adult to get into Versailles you can stay all day, they have cafe everywhere or take a picnic. The train home was 3.40euro and the train station is 5min walk.

We had an amazing time! Apparently, the fountains are NOT running on Tuesdays, so we missed that part, but all of our pictures came out great. Overall, we found the gardens to be much more interesting than the palace itself. The day we were there, the interior was very crowded and hard to get through to see everything, so we had to hurry through the gardens once we got outside, but it was well worth it!

Good tour. Pretty straight forward. If this is your first time in Paris this is a must. It was the first time for my wife so we did it. The palace is fantastic. Everything went smoothly, on time departure and good commentary along the way. Great half day trip!

The palace was mobbed but the tour guide couldn't do anything about that. The transportation was good and the on bus guide was efficient and helpful. There were several buses leaving at the same time from the ParisVision site which created some initial confusion.

There is just so much to see at Versailles - it is absolutely huge - I did the gardens and Trianon this time, having been to the Palace before. My friend did the Palace and was most impressed with the tour, taking the audio guide through the rooms. For me, the gardens and outer buildings were exquisite - a lot of walking in the cold and wind. On a sunny day it would be delightful. Worth doing.

It was a typical audio guided tour. We wasted alot of time in line to pick up the headsets. It would be better if there was a group tour section so that you could get a jump start.

The Versailles trip was fantastic even with audio guide. If I were to do it again I would definitely invest in to tour guide for all day. We were the first group in a morning and schedule to return back at noon, however we decided to stay until 5 pm and return with a second group. We had lunch in one of the cafes on territory of Versailles - not expensive at all! If you like historical sites you would most definitely appreciate the beauty of this place. Just imagine yourself as a royalty strolling thru the palace then parks observing lashes green gardens, attractively created fountains.
