Explore the colorful underwater world of the Pulau Payar Marine Park on this great day trip from Penang.

Travel by ferry to  Pulau Payar, the only Marine Park off the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The park is made up of four un-inhabited islands and the crystal clear water is home to a multitude of colorful fish and large species of corals. Relax on one of the small sandy beaches, or take to the water and snorkel amongst the reefs. Lunch is buffet style and served at the platform.

For those who do not dive or snorkel, you can still see the spectacular sights below the surface from the large floating platform. Scuba diving can be arranged at additional cost.

Boat ride there was relatively long and certainly not on a catamaran or luxurious boat (on a ferry). Once arriving there, the coral reef is split into two sides - those who come from Penang and those from Langkawi. The reef itself is spectacular and the Snorkelling is well worth the one an a half hours to the reef. Water extremely salty, but beautiful and clear and the amount of fish and coral is incredible. Swimming with the sharks was great. Staff were relatively helpful and buffet lunch was great. Would do this trip again if i was to return to Penang.

Fantastic trip. Although their appeared to be a lot of people snorkeling, I never felt overly crowded. Fish in abundance and clear waters. Option of swimming with the sharks, I declined! 2hr boat trip from Penang was also very pleasant. All pick ups were well organized,

It was nice, but could have been better planned. It was an extremely early start so we didn't have time for breakfast. By the time lunch came around we had just about passed out from starvation. They sell soft drinks but no snacks to keep people going until kunch was served. Also, they took us over to where the baby sharks were but we were not allowed to take our snorkels. Like how the hell were we supposed to see anything without goggles??

definitely recommend. Take sea sickness tablets though as water was extremely choppy and we were not forewarned. Everyone on the boat was sick

We had a great day at Pulau Payar, well worth the 1 and a half hour fast ferry ride there! I would definitely recommend it! The waters were crystal clear and the fish were and coral were in abundance. The buffet lunch was also very good. I'm very happy with it!

Very disappointing. Terrible boat ride to the island. The marine park was not what we expected. Staff were very strict on where we could swim. Extremely windy and cold when we went. Make sure you bring your own towel! Lunch was less than ordinary.

This trip was wonderful. The ferry crossing was a bit rough but really worth it. The guide was very good and the snorkeling was amazing. Really worth doing. Lunch was very nice to.

The whole experience was breathtaking, and you didn't need to be a great swimmer. The company was well organized and very friendly. The main person in charge was terrific. The snorkeling was absolutely wonderful and the variety of fish was amazing. Overall, the trip was well worth it and inexpensive.

We enjoyed our day but some aspects could have been better. The pick-up from our hotel was fine. However, the catamaran was old and scruffy and there was no safety announcement. The time at the platform was enjoyable if you don't mind snorkeling with crowds of other people generally making a lot of noise and scaring the fish away. The buffet lunch was very good. Good points – the staff running the reef experience made it fun and got us into the water before a second boatload of tourists arrived.
