Glass and Brewery Day Trip from Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

Bohemian glassware and pilsner beer - it's what the Czech Republic is famous for! This day trip from Prague has something for everyone, visiting the Nizbor Bohemia glass factory and the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. The tour offers a fabulous opportunity to learn about the Czech people and their culture.

Beer has been brewed in the town of Pilsen since it was founded in 1295. However, the pilsner known around the world today is connected with the name of Pilsner Urquell, brewed in the Prazdroj brewery dating back to 1842. Brewers the world over have tried in vain to imitate the unique taste of Pilsner Urquell!

Your factory visit will show you how pilsner was brewed and drunk in the past, and how it is brewed and drunk today. You'll visit the museum's collection documenting the brewery's 150-year history, and have lunch in the brewery's restaurant Na Spilce (included in the tour price).

The Czech Republic's most famous glass factory is situated in the small town of Nizbor on the River Berounka (a tributary of the Vltava River), around an hour's drive from Prague. The factory tour reveals the complete history of glass production in Bohemia. You will also have the opportunity to buy glass products at the glass factory, at discounted prices.

This was a fantastic combination tour and perfectly timed for both locations! The glass factory tour really gave us an appreciation for this special craft. We were especially happy that the gift shop had multiple items that we did not see in every gift shop. In fact, the crystal + garnet design we bought was not in any stores so we really got our 'unique' gift representing the Czech Republic. The brewery tour was well done and ended up with a great taste of the special brew. Having lunch included made it so much easier for the day. We didn't have to spend our time trying to find some place to eat. If you go to Prague, be sure to take this tour.

The trip was OK but the guide or should I say driver was hopeless. In 8 hours he gave no information other than about himself. Overall very poor value for money.

Wonderful trip! We had a private tour since there were only 2 of us that day. Tourist guide and driver Paul was very nice and attentive. Lunch was tasty with beer. Glass factory was enlightening but one of the sales lady was pretty rude and unfriendly.

This was a great chance to explore some of the areas outside of Prague. The glass factory was very informative and the skill of the workers very impressive. We couldn't help but buy a souviner. The brewery portion was fun but I found the group size to be too large.

The tour of the brewery was very badly planned. We climbed and descended stairs coming repeatedly to the same places. Not a very interesting experience.

They take you to some restaurant in Pilzen, not the brewery restaurant which provided much better food. The tour guide at the glass shop pushed our group into a German speaking group, we were three Americans, the shop is expensive and this stuff is all over the place anyways. Glass tour is nothing special.

An excellent tour, with very good guides. The only negative issue was the driver was new and had some trouble with navigation. The crystal factory was a fantastic family owned facility producing hand made crystal the traditional way, with good prices in the gift shop. The Pilsner Urquell brewery was worth the price of the entire tour for the glass of open fermented, cask conditioned, unfiltered, oak barreled lager available in the at the end of the tour, in the 100 year old under ground traditional cellar. The best Pilsner in the world made exactly the same way as a century ago, FANTASTIC.

Really interesting and amazingly high tech. The drive to Pilsen was a bonus to be out of Prague, and into a small town in the countryside.

We had a very good guide for the day. We had a small group, only 7 of us plus the driver/guide. Very informative, good beer and good lunch.

This really is an excellent tour. The glass factory was excellent; you were so close to the workers that you could see and feel what was happening. The brewery tour was a little long, but it was very interesting and the lunch in the restaurant was very good. We had an excellent guide who kept us entertained with his stories for most of the day. I would recommend this tour to anyone, it's definitely worth the money, even though it was a little cold in the brewery cellars, so do wrap up warm.

We have never been disappointed in a tour from Viator, and we have taken many. The brewery tour was excellent, says the husband, and I, the wife, really enjoyed the glass factory and shop.

Our guide and driver was great! The glass factory tour was very limited and could have been more comprehensive, i.e. finishing the glass. The guide at the factory, however, spoke English well, was easy to understand and answered questions. _br /__br /_ The brewery was a good tour and the pivo was even better! If you have the option to take lunch there or somewhere else, you may consider going elsewhere. While it was okay, it was probably not worth the price.

The glass factory was very interesting, but the gift shop was not well-staffed and it took FOREVER to get everyone done with their purchases. Therefore were late for lunch, making us late for the brewery tour, which left without us. We were able to meet up with the group about 25 minutes into the tour, and what we saw was not very interesting or informative. I assume that the first part of tour packaging area was more interesting, but cannot be sure as we never saw it.

This excursion was definitely worth the price. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and engaged in conversation about all kinds of topics. The glass works tour was fascinating and we were shocked at how close we were able to get to the workers. The tour guide at the glass works was less enthusiastic and didn't seem to want to talk to us after the tour, but he did recite his script well during the tour. _br /__br /_ The brewery visit was fun and informative with a good mix of film and live narration. The guide, was able to answer every question and did a great job. The beer is the best I've had! I highly recommend this trip to visitors of the Czech Republic and maybe even locals! _br /__br /_ Once we were on our way, everything was very easy. The only hitch was when I called the day before, whoever I talked to said he couldn't find my name even though I had made the reservation weeks before. Everything turned out fine the day of the trip.

The glass factory and brewery were great! You get to see the processes of both places from beginning to end. The restaurant Na Splice is good too, definitely get your fill of Pilsner Urquell from there before you leave. Guide was great, even gave us a little tour of Plzen's Old Town - city center!

This is a must-do activity! What a wonderful experience. Our driver picked us up at the meeting location and took us to a little town outside of Prague to visit a nationally recognized glass blowing factory. After a tour of the factory we were able to purchase beautiful hand crafted glass at extremely affordable prices - significantly cheaper than in Prague and much more unique. Then, we made our way to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery for a tour of the property and of course - a tasting. Yum! Our driver was so kind as to leave us an hour after the tour to have a late lunch in the delicious brewery restaurant where we enjoyed 0.50 pints and great food. We even had enough time to visit the brewery tour shop before getting back in the car for a relaxing drive back to the city. The excursion was well worth the price, not just for the experience but also for the great deals we got on our holiday gifts and souvenirs!
