Nizbor Bohemia Glass Factory Trip from Prague

Located less than an hour from Prague is the Nizbor Bohemia Glass factory, founded in 1903 and situated within the cosy town of Nizbor on the River Berounka. Today Nizbor glassworks produce Czech crystal, originally known as Bohemian crystal. Bohemian Crystal is a decorative glass which can made into several forms such as vases, champagne glasses, plates, decanters and much more. It is also thought that Bohemian crystal is believed to bring peace and warmth to a home and that even by looking through the beautiful glass increases people's concentration.

Throughout this trip you will be able to see glass being blown and cut as well as learning about the entire crystal making process.

Glass is a typical Czech product and there will also be an opportunity to purchase products for favorable discounts at the factory.

The tour of the Nizbor glass blowing factory was very interesting and the local guide was very good. We not only saw the crystal being blown but also watched the workers while they cut the design in the crystal. It was great to watch the talented artists performing such intricate work.

A very short tour of a small glassworks. If I had known it only produced white cut crystal products I would have inquired further about other glassworks.

The actual factory tour was kind of short. The shopping experience after the tour was disappointing. Some shops at the center of Prague had better selections.

I felt we were rushed out of the gift shop. The place was packed and understaffed. We would have loved to buy more, and regret not doing so, but there was such confusion that we just wanted to get out of there!

The tour of the glass factory was OK. The prices for crystal at the factory are half the price of what they are in the city. However, I felt that we were rushed when we got to the crystal shop. There were many tourists buying and not enough clerks to help. We were given a short time to shop which made for a rush job.

The tour to glass factory was OK. Nothing to be excited about, wholesale price not much lower than retail. They drove us around for 50 minutes to pick up other customers.

A total waste of time. The so called tour was designed only to get you back to the gift shop to buy. There are many things to do in the Czech Republic - do not waste your time with this tour.
