Terezin Concentration Camp Day Tour from Prague
Prague, Czech Republic

We took the trip on the strength of other reviews on this website. It was somewhat of a hassle to print the tickets. As to the trip, the bus was nice and comfortable but we could not hear the guide at all on the way there. We went to two museums first and saw a movie. All that was rather uninspiring. But finally we toured the actual camp with a passionate guide who explained things very well. I wish we had gone to the camp first and then the museums and movie. It might have made a little more sense in that order. I would recommend. Would be better to spend much less time in the museums and more at the actual site. Very intense experience which I would recommend. Just be patient until you get to the site.

The trip was well organised but we could have had a little more time in one of the exhibits.Knowledgable guides both on the coach an also at the Prison Camp. It's a must for anyone to visit and we enjoyed the fact it was a small group, however we would have liked a chance for a refreshment break_br/_ ,

Overall a good tour, I would not say great though. I felt that the tour guide didn't provide enough information and provided more of a transport to the various sites and museums.

My guide was excellent. She really worked hard to make sure that we understood, had enough time to see, and saw everything available. She was well connected and was so easy to understand and listen to. I would go on this again. This was well done for me.

This was an outstanding tour. Our guide was informal, very knowledgable, and engaging. The drive from Prague was pleasant in a very nice bus whit just the right amount of commentary on the route. Thought he schedule on the tour is tight our guide waled us though the museum hitting the high points and leaving us some time to browse fro ourselves. She kew of and bout the different attractions at the Camp. We highly recommend this tour.

The tour was good, and having a chance to visit Terezin was moving and well worth the trip. The guide was just OK. He had a lot of information, which was great - but his English wasn't good enough to respond to questions. That said, he suggested we ask them of the guide we had when we reached Terezin (we had one guide on the bus and another on site) and she was excellent. I wish we had spent a little more time walking around what had been the ghetto too, and not just the prison. And, I wish we had been allowed to take the time to watch the 1/2 hour documentary that another tour group watched - we were only allowed to watch a shorter propaganda film preceding it. I think the historical film might have been helpful.

The guide we had was absolute RUBBISH, she hardly spoke to us and sat in the car for most of the time. If I knew how to get my money back I would go on my own. We didn't get time to look at the museum or through the graveyard and she told us nothing about the camp at all. We were taken by another tour guide and told about the political side of the camp. Our guide didn't even advise us when the tour was over._br/_ This was the worst tour I have been on through Viator and definately the biggest rip off!!

Everything was on time and the 5 hour duration was valid. I have had the occasional tour run very short and I don't believe I saw everything. This again was not the case here. Overall everyone was professional and interested in providing a good tour. Thank you

While I wished the tour was actually longer to spend more time in the museum, it was a very sad but interesting experience. Everyone should have to see what occurred!

Good tour. I would have liked to walk around Terezin more. Less time in the museum and more time in the camp. I really liked the tour of the political prisoner side of Terezin.

Unfortunately the guide spoke very poor English all four tour participants struggled to understand him. I think due to this fact he sent us throughout museums and on our own to learn which was beyond overwhelming with the amount of info provided,it would have taken days to read it all. The 2nd English guide was better, she worked at the camp and it was easier to understand her and ask questions. Bottom line don't send Americans on a tour with a guide who cannot speak or understand good English

The trip was so touching you are at a loss for words. Wish we had more time to spend at the exhibit. Did a wonderful job. Should be a little longer as you don't have much time to look at everything.

I THOUGHT THE TOUR WAS EXCELLENT. THE ONLY THING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE WAS THE TEREZIN LOCAL GUIDE NEVER WAITED FOR THE WHOLE GROUP TO CATCH UP BEFORE HE STARTED SPEAKING. I MISSED ALOT.

Definitely worth the trip - very educational and emotional. Trip was easy and comfortable. Only issue was the microphone was broken in the tour bus, so we had a tough time hearing the guide during the drive (which didn't matter once we reached Terezin.

The location was excellent as was our tour guide at Terezin. There was so much good information and it was a sobering reminder of past events. Our tour guide on the way to Terezin however was really hard to understand and we were not able to understand most of what she was pointing out along the way. She also led us through the first museum at the camp and went so fast that we did not feel like we were able to really look at the displays.

The guide was the worst guide we've had on any tour we've ever taken. We were disappointed that we were no t taken to the large fortress where most of the "Jewish action" took place at Terezin. If I hadn't specifically asked our guide to stop at the crematorium, the bus would not have done so.

the trip was interesting, but the guide as the worst i have ever experienced- i haver been on many tours, and this was the firwt time i could not understand almost anything that was said- actually mumbled the entire time. i was not the only one with difficulty, everyone was asking him to repeat himself but we all finally gave up any hope of understanding his english. i will definitle think twice before booking another excursion.

We enjoyed the tour very much and found it very interesting BUT the guide barely spoke English and we all had a VERY hard time understanding him. He misunderstood the time of the tour so after waiting around he realized that the tour didn't start until a different time so we all had to pile back on the bus and then we were rushed through to get back to start the real tour. Luckily, halfway through the tour we were turned over to a different English speaking guide who worked in Terezin and she was much better and easier to understand. Otherwise the trip really would have been a bust.

Very disappointed in tour guide!!! Her English was very poor, She made no effort to be friendly. She made it quite clear she wanted to be back in Prague in time to watch the Czech hockey team play in a play off match. At Terezin, our guide for the camp site itself, was 25 minutes late getting to our tour group. We wanted a full tour and the guide did his best to give us that. As we came to the end of the tour, the Viator guide came running toward us hitting her wristwatach, TIME! TIME! She had that game to watch. On the way back to Prague she spoke only to the bus driver, in Czech. Never engaging with us. I usually do not bring up a person's appearance but this older woman, and I can say this because I am 65 was shabby at best, which wouldn't matter at all if she had been a good guide. I thought I was hiring a top rate tour company based on reviews. Was I ever wrong!!!

The guide we had was very hard to understand and what compounded the problem is that there was a spanish group with our english speaking group and so everything was interpreted in both languages. I was very verydisappointed and while i have loved viator in other countries, i would not recommend thsi tour at all.

The main tour guide was terrible. She was uninteresting and not nice. She was rude when my friend asked a question and she truly altered the experience for me. I learned more on my own when I was walking around the museums. However, the tour guide for the prison camp was great and very knowledgeable.

Good tour but stops were not long enough at museums. We felt rushed and we were not able to absorb all that was so important. My husband is Jewish and it did not give him the time he needed to really comprehend it all. The on-site tour guide was outstanding. She explained things clearly and without prejudice. This tour should be taken by all so we don't forget what really happened to the inmates at Terezin and other concentration camps in Europe.

More than we expected. Historical context by local guides was informative. Not everyone is going to want to go to a concentration camp, but Terezin has the children's art as an appealing piece of history.

We found this trip very informative - especially about the Terezin prison camp. We wished we'd had a bit more time in the Terezin Ghetto to observe the town and learn more about those conditions as well. The museum offered additional great information. Highly recommend taking the time to do the day-trip from Prague.
