Puerto Vallarta City Tour

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Get more from your vacation in Puerto Vallarta! Visit all points of interest including Guadalupe Church, City Hall, the Malecon (Seawall), Rio Cuale, and many more picturesque sites on this great introductory Puerto Vallarta city tour.

The tour starts on the north side of the city, where you'll see the newest tourism complex of Marina Vallarta, its residential zone, the golf course and the yacht club, stopping for a few minutes to take pictures.

Then, you'll continue on to the city's downtown, driving through 'El Pitillal', one of the popular suburbs. At the sea horse, you'll get off the bus to take an information walk, looking at some of the important buildings and monuments like the city hall and the main church. On this part of the tour, you'll have time for shopping.

On the way back to the bus, you'll walk through the Cuale River Island, a beautiful botanical garden. After this, you'll travel to the south of the bay, where you'll visit a raicilla (tequila) factory to learn about the elaboration process. Last but not least, you'll drive into the rainforest and stop at a restaurant surrounded with lush, green vegetation next to a river, with the chance of having lunch (optional) before returning to your hotel.

It was very good. One thing I would say is that the tour ended way earlier than we were told. It was nowhere near the 7 hours advertised.

This was a good tour. MOst of the time was spent on the bus, but enjoyable. Although, if you don't have lunch included.. I suggest that you bring a lunch if you don't want to spend some $$ at the restaurant the tour guide takes you to... there was only one restaurant there so you don't really have a choice. Also note... tour doesn't break for lunch until about 2 or 3pm so for those who need some food at around noon, best to bring some food with you.

Excellent tour. Highly recommended. They were on time and pick-up location was great. Tour Guide spoke English very well and the restaurant was excellent. The area was beautiful and the sightseeing was absolutely gorgeous. The shopping was okay; glad it wasn't a long time for that-they hound you too death. Overall, excellent tour.

The tour was excellent! The guide Chris was very helpful and the bus driver victor made sure he helped everyone off of the bus. I found that helpfulness was the extra touch that made me enjoy the tour more. Chris was more than willing to answer all of my questions and he was very patient when i really should have been back on the bus but wasn't at the correct time. The bus was clean and comfortable and I will be sure to recommend the tours to any of my friends that will be traveling to Puerto Vallarta. I hope to use the tour company when I travel to Mexico again. I rate the city tour a 10 out of 10!

I absolutely loved the Puerto Vallarta City Tour. If this is your first time in Vallarta, it is best to do this tour early in your visit. We were able to get an excellent overview of the city and the mountains. The tour enabled us to know what areas we wanted to go back to and spend more time. Our tour guide, Christian, was so nice and thoughtful. He went out of his way to accommodate everyone on the tour. Most important, we saw some very beautiful sights along the tour. The Malecon is beautiful, I loved the Catholic Church, and we had just enough time to shop. Other guests at my hotel went to the city via cab. They were not as impressed with the city because they did not know where to go. Furthermore, the tour cost about the same for two people as round trip cab fare. The tour is the better deal and you get a knowledgeable tour guide to show you all the beautiful sights that Vallarta has to offer.

The tour itself was satisfying and enjoyable, but because they didn't have any people to pick up by our hotel, they forgot about us and didn't pick us up at the time they told us. We had to call the tour company and had to take taxi to meet up with the rest of the tourists. Oh, and the restaurant we went to for lunch was like a tourist place, no menu, and we didn't really enjoy the food because there were so many flies and the food didn't taste that great. But the tour itself covers interesting and main points of Puerto Vallarta, and for the first time visitor, it's really helpful to get to know the city.

1. The sound system on the bus was very poor. 2. The guide spoke very poor English. 3. The place chosen for lunch was overpriced for both the food and the drinks. Perhaps part of this was to cover the driver's kickback because I saw a woman from the restaurant slipping him what appeared to be money shortly before we left. 4. The bus seats had no padding.

I made my reservation from US prior to departing to PVR. I was able to confirm hotel pickup from vendor info on Viator resveration confirm thru email. The tour pickup was on time at the hotel. Our guide was great and he paced the tour according to our group. We got a good overview of the city and downtown areas as well as the communties south of the city, along the cliffs. Lunch was ok at the restaurant but I think they could have choosena better restaurant in the area.

I think this tour is poorly advertised. The shopping and lunch are hardly optional. The entire trip felt like a tourist trap. Our bilingual guide spoke very broken English. Half of the time he was speaking English I thought he was still speaking in Spanish. We saw one historical building (the church) and were given no description of any of the statues on the water like the seahorse and the angel and arches. The first half of the tour was a walking tour from the church, to one silver shopping store, to a merchants market. It was hot and exhausting. After that we went to a restaurant in the middle of nowhere, and the only fauna and wildlife we saw were the mule owned by the family running the restaurant, and the flowers the owners' children were trying to pawn off for change.

This was a great tour. My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon and wanted a day to look around the city. Our tour guide was very friendly and professional. This was a very comprehensive tour! Keep in mind that there is some shopping on this tour. If you do not like shopping, then this may not be the tour for you. However, there were plenty of things we did that were not shopping related.

The guide was great, almost too professional. He was very informative, knowledgeable. The bus driver was amazing. He handled that bus like a Volkswagon. My only critique: I would have liked more time downtown.

This is a great tour! We took this tour at the beginning of our trip, which was extremely helpful. Not only did this tour take us to places we wouldn't have gone but helped familiarize us with places we wanted to return to. Plus, the tour guide was very amusing. Lunch is separate but the restaurant is awesome. If you have the time and want to see the city and hear a little history, take this tour.
