As you enter the caves through a narrow entrance, you will be struck by an extraordinary scene of colors and lava formations. These beautiful natural phenomenons were created when surface lava hardened and the fluid lava continued to flow in tubes underneath.

You will also see natural stalactites and many rock formations.

Respect for nature is the main concern, as is safety of travelers. There are no rails, lights or structures to rely on. The tour is suitable for those who are confident walking on coarse surfaces.

Good experience, though we made the mistake of doing this just a few hours after we landed and it's certainly a fairly strenuous activity. Be prepared to crawl on lots of tiny rocks with sharp edges for parts of it. Deducted a star because the guide went way too fast and we were left trying to find him most of the time (and it wasn't just jet-lagged us because the entire group was going the same speed as us). He would dart far ahead and wait for us to catch up, say a few things, then dart again. Maybe that's supposed to be the "fun" of caving....but I wanted a guide to stay closer so we wouldn't go down a wrong way.

It was strenous crawling in the cave but it was awesome. Our guide was fantastic and he gave us coveralls, gloves and hard hats to wear to protect us from the elements. Once in a lifetime experience.

The tour guide was excellent. The trip inside the caves was very hard as we had to walk in crab fashion bending close to the ground and sometimes the only way to navigate the narrow space in the caves was to roll across. Nevertheless it was awe-inspiring as we saw the various formations of rocks and the imprints on rock left by the molten lava as it flowed through. On reflection, I shudder to think what might have happened if an earthquake had occurred whilst we were in the caves! My only advise is, please make it clear on your website that this trip should be taken only by those who are very physically fit and able to contort their bodies to go through the caves.

Great experience, we kind of got a little lost in the cave because the group split and there were only 3 of us in the back, the guide didn't came with us inside, but it was just great!!! WOW!!!
