Reykjavik Sightseeing and Blue Lagoon Tour

Reykjavik, Iceland

Combine two tours in one for the perfect Icelandic experience: See the highlights of Reykjavik in the morning, then spend the afternoon relaxing at the Blue Lagoon.

Make short stops at the following sights:

Bessastadir

Visit the presidential residence at Bessastadir built between 1761 and 1766 and home to Iceland's President. Visit the town of Hafnarfjordur,  famous for having one of the largest settlements of elves, dwarfs and other mystical beings known as the "hidden folk". Here you will also visit the old fishing harbor and when possible, the famous fish market.

Perlan

In Reykjavik you'll go to restaurant Perlan, which is built on water tanks that hold the city's hot water supply. Here you can enjoy the spectacular view over Reykjavik and its surroundings.

Hofdi House

Explore Hofdi house where the all-important summit between President Ronald Reagan and Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986. You will visit the Hallgrimskirkja church, one of the tallest structures in Iceland, the University area and the old town centre where the Icelandic parliament Althingi and the town hall are situated.

Laugardalur

End your morning with a tour of the sports and recreation area in Laugardalur, a geothermal heated outdoor swimming pool and sculptures crafted by Asmundur Sveinsson.

In the afternoon, travel to the famous Blue Lagoon for some well-earned relaxation. Once there you have many recreational options to choose from, such as walking in the Blue Lagoon's spectacular surroundings, bathing in the milky blue-green water, relaxing in a geothermal steam bath or releasing the stress from your shoulders under a Blue Lagoon waterfall.

Choose from a regular bathing experience (approximately 20EUR, payable locally) or indulge in one of the many spa treatments available. You are guaranteed to end your day feeling relaxed and refreshed!

Reykavik sightseeing was very interesting. The blue lagoon was amazing just wished we had gone in the evening.

Unless the scenery is breathtaking, the quality of any tour is dependent on a good guide. Our guide was somewhat odd without any meaningful information. The Blue Lagoon was lovely.

We enjoyed the trip. Our Canadian guide was excellent with his knowledge and driving. The weather was horrendous in the morning heavy rain and gale force winds. Our driver went out of his way to make our trip as comfy as possible. He even drove us as far as possible to the entrances to avoid us getting blown about. Extremely considerate. Instead of dropping us in town he offered to drop tourists at their hotel if wished. Extremely recommended. Staff in the Office extremely professional and helpful too. All the Icelandic people we encountered during our stay were without doubt most pleasant and helpful. A delight to stay on the island.

We were very disappointed in this trip! First, the bus was HOT - the air conditioning was apparently broken. Secondly, there was a lot of wasted time. We toured Reykjavik and that was worth seeing, but then we were brought back to the Tour office (eventhough we were halfway to the Blue Lagoon) and had to kill over an hour. We specifically called Viator before booking this trip because we knew our time would be limited at the Blue Lagoon and were told that the driver would be taking us there around noon whch would give us enough time to have lunch and swim before getting back to the ship for a 5:30 p.m. departure. We didn't leave the Excursions office until after 1:00 p.m. and with the 45 minute drive to the Blue Lagoon had only 1/2 hour to spend swimming as the only return time was at 3:30 or 5:15 - and we had to be back on the ship at 5:30 - thus we were forced to leave at 3:30. What a waste of money and incredibly disappointing as we paid over $35 a piece for entry into the Blue Lagoon. .

We loved this, the water was wonderful, the sauna, the white stuff we smeared on our faces...what fun. I decided to have a pedicure and it was bar none the best pedicure ever...too bad Iceland and the Blue Lagoon are so far away!

The Reykjavik Sightseeing tour was great to get the feel of the area while the Blue Lagoon is a not-to-be-missed experience.

An easy and fun trip, highly recommended. Got a good look at the important sights in the city, and there is no better way to spend an afternoon in Reykjavik than in the Blue Lagoon. Don't rush your time in the Blue Lagoon Make sure you choose the last bus back to the city because it's easy to lose track of time while relaxing. It would have been better if they had reminded us to bring sunscreen though, we ended up getting sunburnt!

The sightseeing was excellent, a lot of which was down to the guide. The tour is a little within the city but also surrounding areas. The Blue Lagoon is a must see. To be in a naturally hot lagoon, steam rising around you, while the air temperature is 2 C is amazing. Both tours well organised.

This is really set out as two tours. The Reykjavik Sightseeing portion of the tour, in the morning, was really good, and was an excellent way to see the sites. Our guide was very friendly and very knowledgable. In the afternoon we went to the Blue Lagoon, which was very good. The tour company provided the flexibility of various return times. An excellent day and I would thoroughly recommend the tours.

The city tour was nice but the trip to Blue Lagoon was in complete silence! Not a word was said about this nature's phenomenon, no information was delivered. We could just have just taken a regular bus, not an excursions bus!

If your time is limited, this day trip is great. Our tour guide for the sightseeing was very informative, and the Blue Lagoon was an interesting first time experience to bask in the warm water.

Great tour, Blue Lagoon is a lot of fun. Not really what we expected, I guess we had low expectations of a tourist trap but it wasn't at all. Beautiful scenery, even in the winter temperatures. Made the warm water all that more appreciated. Definitely recommended if you're in Reykjavik.

This is a good trip to get familiar with your surroundings. There is not much of a city like we're used to seeing, but definitely carries it's own charm. The Blue Lagoon is definitely worth seeing, if not bathing in it.
