Cruise beautiful Sepetiba Bay on a day trip from Rio de Janeiro. You'll travel from Rio de Janeiro to Itacuruca, where you'll board a schooner to cruise the wildlife-filled waters of Sepetiba Bay. After lunch on a tropical Brazilian island, you'll have time to explore and relax before your return to Rio via the city's residential neighborhoods and exciting night life hubs.

Aboard your schooner (locally known as a saveiro), you'll be served a selection of luscious tropical fruit. A bar is available on the boat, but beverages are not included in the tour price. Your cruise on Sepetiba Bay takes you through an area that's rich in natural beauty, and it is common to spot dolphins, giant kingfishers, parrots, turtles and stingrays.

After stopping for a swim, you will continue to a tropical island where a delicious buffet lunch will be served. After lunch, you will have time to explore the island before returning to Itacuruca.

The coach returns to Rio de Janeiro via the charming residential area of Barra and America's Avenue with its modern shopping centers and buildings, Ayrton Senna Avenue and Sernambetiba Avenue, Rio's exciting nightlife center.

First of all our Tour Guide was a waste of time. She never introduced herself to us, her and the driver got lost trying to find the boat and she didn't explain to us what was happening and when, She knocked over my husbands drink because she was sitting on the table and never apoloigised. The picture is an exageration. False advertising! We saw nothing like this at all !The water was dirty, there were dead fish on the beach and nothing Tropical about the day. Best part was the lunch! Great Portugese cusine. Very dissapointing day. Not worth the money!

Too long a drive to get to the boat. Our weather wasn't the best but I can see where it would be really fun on a warm day! Our guide was super nice and well informed. Even though it was chilly and not so sunny, I enjoyed a swim at the beach and the lunch was good.

Although the local company changed the date of the tour to Friday June 24th, this did not detract from the enjoyment of the tour which enabled us to see several beautiful islands.

Very nice trip! My only complaint was about the long time it took us to pick up people from the different hotels - more than an hour and the toilet on the boat were very very dirty! The lunch was delicious!

It was really nice except it was not very clear from the tour description that we would head outside of Rio by bus for about one hour to the fishermen village, then take a small boat (not a big one) and then sail. The swimming stop was near one island but we went swimming from the boat not from the beach at the island. The lunch stop was on a very nice and almost empty island. There were small hotels without any guests outside, and we were very hungry by that time.

This tour seems to spend more time on the road picking up people and waiting for people that do not show up and driving for a long time to the destination. Once on the boat, there was not enough space to sit. Do the tour if you intend to swim otherwise not much else to do. Things improved once we left on the island for lunch which it was nice.

You have to be ready for a quite long drive before you take a boat. The tour is not very long and you are back to Rio quite early.

The weather is a bit unpredictable in Brazil, and we reserved a stormy day to go, so in that sense it could have been much better. It rained almost the entire time on the boat, so people were not in the mood to swim. I also got sick from the hotel food we had for lunch.

This was a fun excursion, but it wasn't exactly what we had expected. We wanted to get out of Rio for a bit, and this trip fit the bill, however there are some factors you need to consider before choosing this trip. Consider the weather, as the trip can easily be ruined by rain. Consider which day you take the trip. We went on a Sunday and missed out on the Hippie Fair in Ipanema which is only held on Sundays. Consider how long it may take to get there; the drive is about an hour and a half, but with pickups it could take longer, so be sure to eat breakfast before you go. The boat ride was pleasant, but verges on a booze cruise. Take a towel if you plan on swimming, and bring sunscreen because the sun can be intense for a long day out. The resort where we stopped for lunch provided great food, and because we went during the off season, it was completely deserted, which was fantastic. It isn't as secluded as I had imagined, but it was really nice in any case. This excursion will allow you to see some of the coast south of Rio, so if you are interested, definitely choose it.

Picked up early - breakfast interrupted! Dumped at another hotel because the bus was faulty, finally picked up 3 hours late. Guide was rude and unsympathetic regarding the delays. Not particularly relaxing. Ruined the last day of an otherwise wonderful holiday!
