The walking tour begins in Piazza del Popolo, which traditionally marks the northern "door to Rome". The piazza's church Santa Maria del Popolo was often the first church that visitors would see upon entering Rome's city's gates.

You'll then proceed to the Spanish Steps, with their lively atmosphere and stunning views down into the winding alleys of the heart of the historic center. Next you will encounter one of Rome's most dramatic monuments, the beautiful Trevi Fountain.

Your stroll through Rome continues with a stop at Piazza Colonna, which contains the column erected by Marcus Aurelius and is considered by Romans to be the very center of the city. Stop at the Pantheon, with its impressive concrete dome and open oculus, which never fails to impress. Nearby you will explore Piazza Navona, with Bernini's famous "Fountain of the Four Rivers" triumphantly marking its center.

Finally, Campo de' Fiori gives you a taste of one of the liveliest and famous traditional Roman piazzas.

This tour was great on our first afternoon in Rome as it gave us a look around without too much trouble as 2 days before Chrismas Rome is packed! Francesca made the tour entertaining and very historically informative. It wasn't at a cracking pace so it allowed us to have a good look around. She also gave us a fantastic recommendation for dinner which we really enjoyed as it was a local establishment and not full of tourists. Highly recommend.

It was a very entertaining and informative tour. our guide, maximo, was very nice, very knowledgeable, and took his time. Our tour was supposed to be from 330-630pm, but we finished at almost 830pm! Best tour so far! Highly recommended! And if you can choose your tour guide, choose Maximo.

Cant speak too highly enough about this tour, which was made so very interesting by the exceptional tour guide we had on this evening. Really glad we did this tour on our first evening, although we were tired, it was worth every moment. We walked over a large area and covered a lot of ground in three and half hours. Again the tour guide was absolutely full of vital information and so interesting. There was nothing she didnt know. Truly exceptional. We would recommend this tour to everyone who hasnt been to Rome before, especially on their first afternoon/evening.

Sadly this pm was during the one day of very heavy rain in our week in Rome. However Toni was superb. She guided us through 4 hours of historic Rome, mostly outside. No one wanted to stop - the true measure of our enjoyment. Yes, we got absolutely soaked - so what?! We were fully taken up with the action AND the hearing device was excellent, enabling us to hear the voice of our guide all the time even if we fell behind. Perhaps this tour should have been am or started one hour earlier as we finished in the dark - it was mid November! This is the ONLY reason why we rate this 4 not 5.

We did this tour the same day we flew into Rome, with the idea of getting acclimated to the city and seeing the highlights. This is a great tour to do early in your trip to Rome. The tour guide , Claudia was fantastic. She allowed extra time for photos and answered all questions. She assisted at the end of the tour with getting everyone to either a bus or other destinations and had recommnedations for good restaurants. I would highly recommend this tour!!

It's hard to hold a group together on the streets and in crowds but she did id well and without complaint. We loved the tour and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to our friends. Nice but remember it is 3 hrs of walking. Level ground but you do traval a long way. You can take a bus back must have walked five miles?? Not sure. Lots of good info good for first day in town

Another fantastic guide and venue. We felt like we had seen the "real" Rome with this tour. Again, not only a person who knew her stuff, but also knew how to help us navigate crowds around popular attractions. Some guides hustle you along so you don't have the chance of getting a photo because you will be left behind. She made sure we all got our pics. At the end of the tour, we asked her how to get back to our hotel on a bus. Right off the top of her head, she gave us the bus number, directed us where too get the bus and told us our hotel would be the 4th stop. And she was right. Impressive!

This is definitely worth including on your itinerary if you have time. It is great to hear about what you are seeing and our guide, Francesca, was excellent. We did this tour on a very hot day and she made a point of trying to find shade whenever possible. Loved having the earpiece so you can hear everything without being right next to the guide.

One of my favorite tours in Rome. A great walk through the shopping district of Rome...catching the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and a few other things along the way. We had a great guide who gave us great insight into what we were seeing. The radio headsets helped a lot too.

This was a fun tour on foot. Guide was very informative and able to answer all questions. One of our locations was closed when we got there, but he substituted another right away. It helped with our orientation while in Rome.

Excellent and extremely useful to orientate yourself in Rome city center.However you must improve the instructions for the initial meeting place because when u are new in Rome you dont know which of the four churches in piazza de poppolo is the one to meet outside.In our case even the taxi driver dropped us outside the wrong church exactly on the opposite side of the square we should have been.

Our tour guide was fantastic. She was really knowledgeable and friendly. She, along with 2 colleagues that she was training up, provided a very enjoyable tour with lots of little anecdotes. We found out lots of information that no guidebook would have told us! To be honest, we felt like they were friends, not teachers, which is exactly what we wanted. The tour took in most of the main highlights of Rome and, despite lasting over 3 hours, our afternoon flew by.

We took the 'Best of Rome Walking Tour' on our last afternoon in the city and it was a wonderful 'cap' to our trip! He was soo passionate about Rome the way he talked about it and kept us interested the whole tour. He even kept our tour going on longer than usual about 1 hour longer but of course none of us cared as we had one of the best tour guides in the city !

This was an excellent tour. Our guide was a fountain of knowledge in Roman history and fascinating stories. He obviously had a passion for his work and really delivered the best of Rome. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see everything and get the most info that you can in an interesting way. We had a fairly large group of mostly older people so that slowed us down a little meaning we missed one or two sites. However this was definitely more than made up in that we got to visit a church that no one ever gets to visit. Spectacular. Also the coffee break was a great idea! The guide knows his stuff and tells good stories!

I only had two days in Rome and this tour was a perfect way to see the major sites and learn history behind them. Our group consisted of five people.
