Our guide, Jeanette, if I remember her name correctly, was amazing! American accent because she is from Florida originally, but has been living in Italy for 10 years so she knows what she's talking about. Small group and we saw everything we were expecting to see and more. Exceptional tour which I would recommend to anyone. Very pleased.

Visiting these catacombs was a great experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about describing the history of them. Thinking about these being constructed with no motorized heavy equipment of any kind is astounding. A must see in my book. The brief stops at a tomb, the Appian Way and aqueducts were also interesting. Amazing to realize these are in public parks that people walk and ride bikes through every day! Our guide, Inger, an American ex-pat, was very good also. It was most helpful to have the tour to take you to these places, and I would recommend it. Not a walking tour though - a short distance off the bus at each stop is all the walking that is required.

Tour guide was weak and couldn't answer some questions or seemed to have no confidence that she knew the correct answer. San Calisto tour was excellent.

The catacombs of St. Callixtus was an amazing experience. The guide, (a priest), was enlightening, informative and very thorough. We enjoyed his guided tour tremendously!! We also enjoyed Rosa's (our tour guide through out the day) detailed historical explanations about the Appian Way, and the Roman Viaducts. It was disappointing that we did not get close enough to take decent pictures of the Viaducts (similar to other pictures posted on this site)._br/_ Overall, it was a very interesting and relaxing day.

I enjoyed this tour; it was very interesting, but it's not a walking tour. We got in a coach from the office and were driven to the Catacombs and stopped off at a couple of places but did hardly any walking. That's not a complaint - just for information. The Catacombs were very moving; we were shown round by a priest from India who was there for the summer and he was an excellent presenter. We learned quite a lot and were astonished at the way they were constructed. No photos allowed!

This tour was very interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable. My only complaint was that there are no actual skeletal remains in the catacombs and that on the Appian way part of the tour I would have enjoyed more investigation of what is left there. We did stop and check out the aqueducts which was amazing.

We were hugely disappointed in being unable to locate starting point of this tour after being repeatedly misdirected to the tour's pick-up point. We will not ever recommend Viator to anyone, and will only ever book a tour when on location, and not ever by using the internet and in advance. Not possible to rate the tour, but the tour company rates as very poor,

This was enjoyable. The catacombs were much more spacious than I had anticipated and there were no bodies (other than those still sealed, which were few). The tour itself was certainly worth doing though.

This was a fabulous tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The Catacombs were incredible to see, walking on the Roman Road was an experience of a lifetime and seeing the aquaduct system and what is still standing after all these years was amazing. After several days in Rome we appreciated the hop on, hop off bus tour. Highly Recommended Yes !

This was an excellent tour. The information provided by guide Rosa was brilliant and an excellent background to the history of Rome. The visit to the catacombs brought history to life, so to speak, for me. The aquaducts were interesting and the information on various structures along the Appian Way illuminating. We were a small group of nine in a mini bus so it was a very friendly atmosphere.
