This is a primary tour to take when arriving in Rome. It is a very informative tour so try to take it as soon as possible after settling into the city. It is an easy tour but very crowded.

Awesome and very informative tour. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable - it made the whole experience enjoyable. My only suggestion was that he should have dressed up like one of the gladiators that we saw at the Colosseum :-)

The Colosseum was so amazing but it was so hard to hear our guide that we missed a lot of the unknown history behind it.

This was a very disappointing tour, we had a guide who had to speak in german and then english, and another group with us who were chinese, who had a seperate guide, she was much better, the information given was very dissapointing, we spent a lot of time walking by ourselves and waiting unti she had finished talking to the other group. Would not consider this tour operator ever again.

it was a fantastic tour...our tour guide was funny and very knowledgable. there were quite a few very disrespectable individuals on the tour. they had been drinking and didnt listen we had to wait on them at every stop and they were very rude to the rest of us.

This was a wonderful tour. Of course, the highlight was the Colosseum, which was the highlight of the tour. The guide was excellent and answered all our questions. I recommend this tour without reservation.

Too many people to talk to without headphones. Promised group no larger than 25 but there was nearly fifty in our group. No headphones provided, could not hear guide unless nearby. Highly overated and overpriced. Guide was knowledgeable with what was heard.

Sat on a hot bus without A/C for 30-40 minutes waiting for the tour to get started. Had to wait another 10+ minutes when we got off the bus for the group to redivide for language coverage. Very slow walking pace between venues. We waited for another 10-15 minutes outside the Colosseum for the guides to coordinate the tickets. Inside Colosseum was way too fast, which might have been ok if we had actually seen the other things listed in the tour description. Instead, we did a quick drive by of the Circus Maximus, most people couldn't see anything, we could only see the Roman forum from the Colosseum, we never had any other views or descriptions/verbal commentary from the guide regarding the forum. The Piazza del Campidoglio was closed off due to an official visit (I can't blame the tour company for that, but they could have found out some how in advance). We were not taken to the Pyramid of Caius Cestius although listed in the tour description. The guide seemed knowledgable, but disorganized. I was extremely disappointed in the tour.

The guide was difficult to hear. I got the impression that he wasn't used to talking to large groups. Our group was scattered in the Colosseum and I was mildly surprised that everyone made it to the bus.

pretty amazing views! Tour guides are knowledgeable and very helpful. They also were able to break up the groups so that we had an english speaking group and an italian/spanish group. Since We were a large group they always made sure everyone was together. Traveled in a large air conditioned coach bus with a little bit of walking. Impressive.

We went in December. Snow had stopped the trains running across Britain so we were forced to fly BA from Heathrow. This trip was on the 2nd-last day in Rome. We had gotten off lightly with the weather until Friday, when snow began falling, and overnight ice had formed everywhere. Stalegtites (?) were on the Mermaid Fountain, and solid ice covered the whole thing. It was freezing!!! We seemed to be the only ones prepared for WEATHER, with our waterproof footwear and over-trousers, and double fleece inner jackets, outer breatheable waterprooof coats and gloves....others were struggling to walk on the treacherously icy and slippery surfaces around us; Rome's advance weather forecast said "showers", it did not mention ICE AND SNOW. So be prepared for ANYTHING, including blinding winter sun glaring off all surfaces. We got inside the Collisium, but not the Parthenon as the guide told us it was too dangerous and was just a shell._br/_ In better weather, it might have done more for the senses. Hard to concentrate on Roman History, and Romance when you are trying not to go "ass over elbow" on the walkways and steps...

Tour started a bit late, therefore some of the sites we saw at dark. I would recommend taking the morning tour if you want to be able to take pictures of everything you see on the tour. Tour guide was excellent and tour bus picked me up from hotel and brought me back to hotel.

Enrico, was very excellent, knowledgeable and the service was great. My only suggestion would be to have headphones so that we could all hear the tour guide. Other than that it was remarkable.

This Tour Operator had a disappointing tour group. On this particular tour, we lost 7 people during the afternoon as the tour guide was walking so fast. One of the couples were elderly and just simply couldn't keep up. What was worrysome was that the tour guide didn't seem bothered by loosing her guests and more or less suggested that if the customers can't keep up, it is their problem. The bus was dirty and 8 seats has broken backs so the seat was permanently reclined. The tour guide and bus driver were always smoking when off the bus and there was no audio system so half the time you couldn't hear the tour guide out on the street. Having gone on a number of tours, I wasn't impressed by this tour company and we had them as our guides on 2 other occasions too. Viator should strongly consider not using this operator.

Tour guide seemed disinterested - walked ahead we did not have ear pieces so could not hear 3/4 of information. This is probably my only trip to Rome ever and this tour was awful. I would never use this company again. Requested hotel pick-up was told no although they dropped us off at end of tour.

The tour was very informative. And the big suprize was the visit to the church. St. peter in Chains. I had forgoten that Michelangelo's sculpture's for pope Julius II the second's tome was there. I was a great way to start our vacation. We could not always here the tour quide with the microphone she had.

I was traveling with my 12-year-old niece who wanted to see both Pompeii and the ocean, and this was the perfect tour. We took the drive with 4 other passengers in a very comfortable minivan. Besides the breathtaking sights of Amalfi, Positano and Pompeii, the highlight of the day was a 40-minute boat ride from Amalfi to Positano; seeing the majestic coast from the water was incredible. The best part of the tour was our guide in Pompeii. Our guide and driver made the day special; they took great care of us. I know it was a hit with my niece--she is still talking about the tour!
