Time Elevator Rome 3-D Movie and Simulated Ride

Rome, Italy

Time Elevator Rome combines education and entertainment in such a unique way that you will not seen Rome the same again. This is an amazing multi-sensory attraction where you'll Voyage through 3000 years of Roman history, from Romolus and Remus up to the present day in just 45 minutes.

You will experience a simulated ride where you will travel through the rich history of Rome. Starting with its foundation, through the glorious days of the ancient Roman empire, the Renaissance with its masterpieces of architecture and art, the events of the 20th century, culminating in an aerial flight over the Rome of today.

Your flight simulator has 3 panoramic screens, seats on special moving platforms, individual surround sound headsets (available in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Russian), for you to feel part of the action while listening to Brutus plotting to kill Caesar

Time Elevator Rome is created as a Time Machine that allows you to travel back to the 773 B.C. and to return to modern age through time.

This was a great introduction to the History of Rome, especially for my kids. The venue is outdated and needs to upgrade it's seats and headphones, but is still worth a visit.

We really enjoyed it. It was great for first time visitors like my grandaughter.Everything she saw afterwards made so much sense. Recommended...

The ride is tired and the script dated. The ride also didn't always move in a way that made sense of the script. Try going to disney guys, see how they do it!

Great experience. Tour prices were the exact same walk up prices however. But, without Viator, I would not have known about this tour. Did this on our first day in Rome, which definitely made the remaining days of our trip more meaningful as we knew more about the history of Rome.

A bit disappointing. The actual video is very informative but I wouldn't recommend sitting in the moving chairs. It's not as smooth as any modern I-max or similar rides and after a few minutes anyone we talked to just felt ill. I would still recommend it but choose to sit in the fixed seating.

Very informative, great way to get an overview of Rome's history for first time visitors. Took my 9 year old daughter, and she managed to get a lot of information from this tour. Wish there was more "3-D" element, but overall....very well done!!

This serves as an introduction to Roman history and the City. The theater is running down but still delivers. Cost and time are both well worth it.

We did it the same day we landed in Rome, thus before officially starting the visit. This made the 3D movie very timely, for the kids got familiar with everything before actually seeing it. However, we would have liked to know in advance that specific scenes are shot in a so-realist way likely to shock kids (the murder of Caesar and the death of Jesus Christ). Ours are 8 and 5.

Beware...if you have a tight schedule while in Rome and you want to take this tour during the tourist busy season, you may want to hold off from buying this tour ahead of time. Viator was GREAT about working with us ...so no problems with them. Our problem was trying to get in to the tour itself. We had a window of open time and when we went to get our tickets the showtimes we wanted were already sold out. When you buy this through Viator you are buying for a specific day and not a specific tour time of that day. We tried twice to go back to do this with our teen boys but it was already sold out. Unfortunately we never got in so I cannot comment on the 3-D experience. Just know that Viator has responded very well to our situation.

slightly disappointing. Expected a 3D simulation with glasses but mainly got a seat bouncing around. The narrative disappeared from the screen before you could read it all.

Don't expect special glasses for a regular 3-D movie; the 3-D is three screens at different angles. The simulator itself makes quite a bit of noise. The information and video ( and the simulator movements) made it enjoyable for kids and adults alike. It was an interesting perspective to get the feel for the history of Rome. Easy yet memorable. Certainly worth it for families.

Very disappointing. The staff was unhelpful, didn't explain the procedure to obtain tickets for theon-line booking. This resulted in us waiting for 90 minutes. The show itself was disappointing, the 4D an unnecessary gimmick and the content of the show was not really inetresting. The price on our ticket also did not correspond to the amount charged online. It seems that a premium is placed on online bookings. I would definitely not recommend this experience to anyone.

Had some reservations when I read somewhere this was tacky, but we all enjoyed it lots-even me who does not do "rides". Definitely do this first thing on your visit to Rome as it does give you a good idea as to what you are seeing now as far as ruins. PS-staying in the Pantheon area is a plus as this is close by and everything else is within walking distance

The Time Elevator is a great movie to see to get the kids excited about the history of Rome. I took my 3 children ranging in ages from 9 - 14 and they really learned a lot. It really helped them understand what they were about to see over the next few day's while in Rome. I would definitely recommend this movie.

Staff exceptionally bad. We arrived 15mins before show, with our pre booked voucher, told to "go away for 15mins". When we returned, told to come back in an hour, as we should have handed in our pre booked voucher to receive a ticket when we first arrived, There were no no more placed. No apology at all for not informing us of this. Complete lack of charm. Will not recommend.

This is a great first stop for pre-teens and teens who aren't immersed in Roman history. Following another reviewers advice, we planned this visit first and it helped everyone get in the mood. My kids 10,13 loved it.

Content of the movie was great - exactly what we were looking for as an orientation to Rome. However, the amusement ride motion of the chair detracted from the experience.

It's a good way to familiarize yourself with Rome before stepping really into the streets. The kids and we were impressed. The place needs a larger banner on via del corso cause it's relatively difficult to find.

This is a great introduction to Rome at the beginning of one's stay there. I didn't feel that the movement of the seats added much to the presentation, however it certainly makes it more fun for children. Trevi Fountain is close by.
