Bavarian Mountains and Obersalzberg Tour from Salzburg

This afternoon tour from Salzburg takes you high into the picturesque Bavarian Alps above the Obersalzberg. Enjoy magnificent views across the snowcapped mountain peaks and historic sights such as Castle Hellbrunn on your way to the German border and the former mountain residence of Hitler, Eagle's Nest.

Driving along the Konigseeache, through the lovely valley and picturesque farmland to Unterau you will begin to ascend to the Obersalzberg. Here, the tour will stop to see what is left of Hitler's mountain compound, and to enjoy the wonderful panorama (view of Hitler's Eagle's Nest).

Next you continue down the Konigsee, or Echo Lake, nestled among the steep mountain peaks. There will be time for a stroll along the lake.

On the return journey back to Salzburg, the coach will stop in Berchtesgaden for a walk around the village and some refreshments (not included).

Awesome tour with incredible sights. Our guide was amazing and spoke six languages! We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back the next day for the lake region tour!

Very disappointed..!! The guide was boring and spoke to the driver a lot. We spent an hour at Konningssee lake, not long enough to take the boat trip, yet too long for doing nothing. After that, we had 40 minutes stop at a unknown town just to have afternoon tea. What a rip off..!!

This is a complete waste of time. First you board a huge bus and drive to the salt mines to drop off the people who are doing that tour. After you sit on the bus at the mines for 20 minutes you drive to Kings lake. You spend an hour here but honestly 10 minutes would be enough. The portion of the lake that you can see looks more like a pond then a lake. Then you drive back to the salt mines to pick up that group. Lastly you go to the town of Burchtesgarden and spend 30 minutes. You won't go into the mountains (just will see some from a distance), you won't go to Eagle's nest (can see it in the distance if there are no clouds). If you want to see the mountains go to Eagle's nest. Also do it your self since that tour also wastes so much time and you are only at Eagle's nest for 1 hr.

Felt like an after thought we went in a little mini bus. It felt like a glorified taxi. We were dumped in 2 places for an hour each And left to just get on with it. No guidence. The Lake was very pretty but the town berchinsgarden was nothing special and all closed as it was sunday. Wouldnt reccomend this tour.

Not so much time in Berchestgaden. Could be great if the weather is good.
