We had an amazing time on this tour. Our tour guide Naomi was informative, kind and just made us feel welcome and was willing to help in any way. The sights were beautiful too. Just fyi though - for avid picture takers that hate to use the flash might be better to pick the morning tour or wait until the summer when you have more natural lighting for longer. Overall great tour and will recommend to anyone. This is my second tour with viator and both times have been wonderful.

The tour was outstanding. Their were 6 of us (all friends) in our little tour bus and our tour guide David did an exceptional job of educating us on the history of Salzburg and all of the "inside" information about the SOM - very relaxed and informal. We had plenty of time for pictures including a stop for refreshments. Would highly recommend the private tour and David as the tour guide.

Evelyn our tour guide was very good. She was sweet, friendly and made the tour fun and informative. My only complaint is that we did not see many of the sites we wanted too. We just drove past the Mirabelle Gardens and the Rock Riding school but did not go inside either. Also would have liked to see the Abbey and the cemetery. We did not even get close to either. I realize it was probably a time issue but would have been nice to have been given the choice of what we were going to see. We did enjoy seeing the lakes etc but that took up much of the time. The reason we paid more for a private tour is that we wanted to set our own sites.and see the major ones. I even requested that on my reservation ahead of time. . I do not fault out tour guide at all, I think she was just following the tour company route. _br/_ Without a car you need a tour but not sure you get much more for the money with a private tour.

We opted for the private tour since it seemed to visit more places as opposed to drive by. We were wrong. We only went into the cathedral and inside the grounds but nowhere near the castle where the glass pavilion is. Everything else we saw from afar. The only advantage of the private tour is you're in a van with your family only. Otherwise you're in a packed van. The difference in the price tho is very big.

Our private guide Michael was excellent. He was informative and friendly and his English was very good, so that made it very easy for us to understand. We enjoyed seeing the locations of the Sound of Music . We recommend a personal tour to our friends, as you can get a little more insight and information.

Excellent tour with a great tour guide who spoke excellent english. he showed us lots of places and knew his stuff very well. Private tour is the way to go. there were 6 of us on this in a mini van.

Tour guide was absolutely lovely and full of lots of interesting facts. Tour however skipped all of the Salzburg places and only went to outside of Salzburg. More time spent travelling rather than viewing. Some locations could easily have been chopped out to reduce travel and spend more time on location.

We had a great tour guide on our private tour but I was expecting to actually stop and go to see many more spots close up rather than just hear about them from the van.i.e.-going into the Mirabella palace park and up to the cemetery. We had to do these on our own afterwards which I expected to do on our private tour that I had booked for this reason. Our guide was excellent and very enjoyable to have for the 4 hours. We unfortunately had lots of rain but he still made our time enjoyable.

An amazing tour, our guide and driver was extremely knowledgeable about the film, locations, and related anecdotes. She entertained the four of us throughout, and even my husband enjoyed himself although he wasn't looking forward to it! I would highly recommend this tour to any small group.

Incredible time. We had a complex trip with a marathon schedule, and the tour company worked with us to make a highly enjoyable tour. The day was the highlight of a 10 day trip, and Austria, originally just a side trip of an Italy and Greece cruise, became our favorite country.

The trip was absolutely fabulous, taking us to all the main places that were shown in the film. The tour guide told us the true story about the Von Trapp family. Worth every penny. I would highly recommend this tour.

Expensive way to do tour but with a group of 5 worthwhile. Hard to book tours whilst "on the road" as it can be nuisance to gain access to a printer to print the vouchers. Must be a better way!
