If you love wine, you won't want to miss the chance to visit the famous Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries on a day trip from San Francisco! You'll taste wines from North America's premium wine country, learn how the wines are made, and enjoy lovely vistas of rolling hills dotted with vineyards!

This wine tasting tour will take you from San Francisco to Napa and Sonoma regions for you to experience the finest wine in northern California. Once you reach the historic wine regions, you'll visit a mix of boutique and large-scale wineries, with approximately an hour of traveling between wineries.

Nicholson Ranch Winery (Sonoma)
The vineyards of the Nicholson Ranch is planted in one of the most prized grape-growing regions. This family-owned artisan winery produces premium grapes for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah.

Madonna Estate, Mt. St. John (Napa)
Located in the world-renowned Carneros region, the Bartolucci family has found success with their organically grown grapes and Estate Bottled wines. In addition to practicing natural farming methods, they also combine traditional and modern winemaking techniques.

Lunch in Yountville at V Marketplace (Yountville)
Once known as "Vintage 1870," V Marketplace offers specialty boutiques, galleries and restaurants, a wine tasting cellar, all located within and around this historic, 140 year-old Groezinger Winery complex.

Sutter Home (Napa)
Established in the late 1800s, Sutter Home has become a household name for its creation of White Zinfandel in the early 1970s. It has become the second largest, independent family-run winery in the United States.

Had a great time. Would recommend to someone who does not have own transportation or any idea which winery's to go to. But I did feel rushed from one place to another and at times wished we had longer at each winery. But overall wonderful trip!

Wonderful trip, our bus driver was very helpful and informative. We were collected from our hotel and returned back at the end of the tour without any hassles. The only negative thought I have to say is that the office staff where you exchange your internet voucher for the required tickets were less than helpful.Prehaps they shouldn't be working in the tourism industry. As we had booked 2 tours we were entitled to free hop on hop off bus day trip. There were 4 in our party and we were given just one ticket. When I asked for the tickets to be split off, it was done most reluctantly. Apparently he was the manager !! The whole ticketing system should be reviewed, office gives you one till receipt along with other little coloured cards for the bus you should be on then driver asks for 2 till receipts. Needless to say you are made to feel like you are incompetent when it is the office procedure.

It was a beautiful, sunny day and the colours of the countryside were spectacular - yellow and gold in the main. I found the driver - Steve, I think - amusing in his delivery of information and very approachable. The wineries were great with bountiful tastings included in the tour price. There was a variety of eating establishments available at our lunch stop. My friend and I chose the French bistro - a very good choice. I would recommend this tour.

We enjoyed the tour. The coach was comfortable and the driver was very knowledgeable about the local history of the places we were travelling through and of course the vineyards themselves._br/_ Our lunch stop was not as long as we would have liked, we really enjoyed the Bistro Jeanty in Yountville._br/_ The vineyards we visited were good. We really enjoyed tasting and learning about the different wine varieties.

As other reviews say, Gordon is very informative and even squeezed in a short Golden Gate photo when we checked on another driver. Two great wineries and Sutter Home which is just OK. Very familiar with them. Comfortable bus, good music on ride home when everyone was tired.

We went from the best , Nicholson,to the worst. Sutter Home. This winery should not be on any and I mean any wine tour. Their wine is not up to our expectations. Madonna was good and the people who worked at Madonna were knowledgeable. The bus driver was excellent and the trip over the Golden Gate Bridge was spectacular.

Excellent guide and driver in providing very accurate and entertaining information about the wine industry and the locations. my favourite was the stop at V market as it offers a bunches of rstaurants and leaving you the choice acording your budget. I did not like the wine tasting as the wine offered are very low quality and way to expensive. Highlight is definetely the bus driver and guide and the travel along the the nappa and sonoma valley.

An enjoyable trip, worth it for the scenery. Three nice wineries with something for everyone, but buy your favourites when you taste them as there are no return visits! A pleasant stop for lunch, again, with something for everyone to suit all budgets. The only downer on this trip was the driver/guide REALLY liked the sound of his own voice and never drew breath once from San Francisco to the first vineyard. Although it is a benefit to have a knowledgeable guide, he proceeded to give the dialogue from the vineyard tours so there was little we didn't already know upon arrival.

The meeting point and check in process did not have to be as difficult or as stressful as the people behind the counter made it to be. The customer service behind the counter, not the driver of the tour, was sub par and down right rude at some points. Will not refer to my friends simply because there a million other places to try instead.

Loved this tour! The tour guide was a lot of fun and very interesting- he pointed out everything he knew on the way out to Napa: movie sights, where celebs went to high school, which prison they currently reside in, hot restaurants, etc. Napa itself was just a dream come true. The whole day was 5 stars!!

Our tour guide was nice, but the wineries weren't very good. The wines we tasted were average, at best. The company itself is extremely disorganized. We waited 45 minutes for the bus to pick us up in the morning, only to find that the bus only comes to the side entrance of our hotel. Since we missed the bus, we had to go on the tour the following day instead. The hotel pickup is a little misleading. They pick you up and take you to their office, where you exchange your voucher for tickets. Then you wait for the bus that will actually take you on the tour. Since everyone is picked up at the same time by multiple buses for multiple tours, it's a crowded and slow process. The tour was fine, but not good enough to make up for the hassle. If I were to do this again, I'd look for a different tour company and better wineries.

Wonderful scenery and the wineries were great. Nicholson was very nice but Madonna Winery was exceptional, Sutter Home - just OK. The driver was informative but could have lightened up on his "hints" for gratuities. The location for lunch was good but a suggestion would be to have a “picnic” type box lunch in one of the vineyards with one of the fantastic views as a backdrop. I would definitely do this tour again myself and recommend it to others.

The information and tours at each stop are fantastic. The wine tastings were great and more than enough for 1 day! You will have a perfect day with perfect wine.

I would highly recommend this bus tour. It was extremely organized and the bus driver was extremely knowledgeable about the wine country and the various wineries. We travelled with our 2 daughters who were 22 and 25 and they also enjoyed it immensely. It was a great way to introduce them to the NapaSonoma area.

Great tour. Check in was seamless, but be sure to keep an eye out for the bus, we had to guess what bus was the correct tour. Our driver, Gordie, was very knowledgeable of wine, but did get a little monotone on the drive at times. The wineries were excellent. I am normally not a wine drinker, but I liked pretty much every wine I tried.

It was a very informative tour. My wife and I enjoyed the scenery and the information that the driver gave along the way! We got to tour three different style wineries, one was a small family business, which was very tiny. The second was a medium size winery which took us into how they made their wines. The last one was a large size, and they told us how they became global distributers of their wine. Over all it was such a great experience to see and hear how these wineries got started in Napa Valley. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest in wines and the history of Napa Valley! It wasn't bad that we got picked up and dropped off at our hotel as well! That was a nice feature!
