San Francisco Bay Sunset Cruise

San Francisco, United States of America

Take the ultimate sunset cruise, California-style! Relax as you enjoy amazing views of San Francisco and a hearty appetizer buffet from the famous Boudin Bakery during this casual two-hour cruise of San Francisco Bay. The sailings are timed to coincide with sunsets; the Sunset Bay Cruise departure time and route will differ to the Twilight Cruise which sails during the winter months.

Sunset Bay Cruise:

With cool background music and live commentary by the captain, this cruise is a wonderful way to explore San Francisco Bay at twilight during late March through early November.

As the sun begins to set over the Marin Headlands, you'll cruise past Alcatraz, Angel Island and the shorelines of Tiburon, Belvedere and Sausalito. Watch the sun setting over the Pacific Ocean as you sail west toward the Golden Gate Bridge. On your way back to Fisherman's Wharf you'll see many more famous sights, including the Presidio, the Marina District and Fort Mason.

During the cruise, enjoy petite sandwiches, antipasti, seasonal fruits and salads, cheeses, vegetables, pizza breadsticks, freshly baked cookies, and a complimentary beverage.

A full bar with drinks and merchandise is available aboard. All cruise vessels offer indoor and outdoor seating, and restrooms. There is no assigned seating or formal dress required, come as you are for an evening of relaxed sunset sailing! Vessels operate on bio-diesel, a renewable energy source.

Twilight Cruise:

In the winter, the cruise changes its itinerary to make the most of the spectacular city lights view of San Francisco . As the sun sets over the horizon, you'll sail pass San Francisco's modern skyscrapers, historic landmarks, the infamous island of Alcatraz and both the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge.

Your evening of breathtaking San Francisco views will be accompanied with live guitar entertainment, hearty buffet of sandwiches, salads and dessert, and a beverage from the bar.

Whether you are enjoying the skyline views from the ship's heated indoor spaces or out on the outdoor viewing decks, the city lights are an unmissable San Francisco attraction.

What a lovely city San Francisco is and this was a great way to see it by night. The sunset was spectacular, just as you see it in the photos.

AMAZING!!!! It was a VERY romantic date; I would highly recommend this cruise to any couple. Amazing views of the city, Alcatraz, and the bridges. Ticket came with a complimentary beverage and additional beverages were reasonably priced. DEFINITELY worth the price.

Good experience overall. Spetacular view of both bridges. Appetizers were average. Live musician playing the guitar did a fine job.

AMAZING!! Even though it was only about 10 degrees and freezing cold :) - it was well worth it! The views were specatular : the city, both the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges and Alcatraz. The light supper provided by Boudin was lovely. Sourdough sandwiches, meat and cheese platter, salads and the yummiest brownies and cookies. A must for anyone heading to San Francisco - regardless of the season! A highlight of our recent trip! Enjoy!!

Delightful! I wanted my niece, great niece and daughter-in-law to see the amazing view of the SanFracisco bay area night lights. This cruise was perfect. Added benefits included good food, live music, and we got to witness two young couples become engaged to be married. I have gone on the much more expensive dinner cruises several times before and although they were great, I prefer the much more relaxed feeling of the San Francisco Bay Sunset Cruise. Also, this cruise is kid friendly which was great since we had a 6 year old with us. She loved it! This is a must repeat.

Great view of the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz and of course the Golden Gate Bridge. Lovely sunset, despite poor weather during the day. Be aware that you need to wrap up warm if you like to be out on deck, although you can sit inside if you prefer. Very nice substantial buffet. Everything was very efficient. It's a great way to stand back and admire the view..

This was a great cruise, the boat was not crowded, it takes you aroiund the bay and under the golden gate bridge. Buffet food is sreved and they have live entertainment in the way of a guy with a guitar, who was pretty good. I would definately reccomend his trip, just make sure you have enough layers as although the day had been nice, it was quite breezy when i went, and i was rather cold and wish i had also taken my coat so that i could have spent more time outside.

Very cold and windy night with no sunset to be seen. But the captain did his best to get us out under the bridge for a few minutes before we retreated back to the nicely lit city.

A PLEASANT EVENING THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENHANCED BY A SUNSET! THE GOURMET MEAL THAT WE EXPECTED WAS SOMEWHAT DISAPPOINTING -BECAUSE IT WAS A COLD NIGHT A SOUP TYPE MEAL/OR HOT COMPONENT WOULD HAVE IMPROVED THIS.

Everything was fantastic from picking up our tickets to capturing the photo's of the sunset over Golden Gate Bridge. We were lucky that we were in San Francisco during a particularly hot period and the evening was perfect. There was plenty of food available and no long waits for food or drink. Would recommend for any visitors to SF.

Beautiful scenery; friendly crew. Buffett was good but food was not replenished as consumed. There was enough fruit and vegetables; more sandwiches and desserts needed.

Good way to see the bay at sunset. The views are lovely and there is a good atmosphere on the boat. The food they serve is enjoyable. Bring a jacket though it gets very windy and chilly! Good tour company centrally based with a lot of experience.

The SF Bay Sunset Cruise via the Red and White fleet was overall, an amazing experience! I was impressed by the array of appetizers and bar selection, and was wow'ed by the views. As a bay area local, I knew it'd be cold and windy - DRESS WARMLY. Even if it seems warm in the city during the day, it'll be chilly out on the water. There were quite a few people dressed up, and they ended up spending most of their time inside. This isn't a Hornblower cruise - casual is okay and you'll enjoy it more if you're able to soak in the views. On our particular night there was a ton of fog which made the Golden Gate Bridge completely unseen, but it was 100% clear further north onto Tiburon/Sausalito. Overall, a good time and a great value!

It would get 5 stars if the San Fran FOG didnt ruin it. They only way i would go on this tour if the fog stays away that night. We could barely see 20ft from the boat. The food was decent, bar was reasonably priced.

My experience was not worth the money I paid. In comparable cruises (Boston, NYC), we get higher quality ships, higher quality food and on-board experience.

The cruise was alright. They seemed to "oversell" the cruise and about 20 people did not have seats at a table. While this was not a dinner cruise, it wasn't a huge deal but that still seemed less than ideal. Additionally, they did not have any soda/pop on the boat even though it was advertised. Instead the bartender offered canned lemonade. The live music was wonderful and the crew did a nice job but I've paid a lot less for a nicer cruise in other Pacific cities.

The bay tour was fine and helped to calm down a rather unsettling day in San Francisco. As a city, San Francisco is not one I would recommend at all for people to visit. Too many homeless, too crowded, getting to tours too complicated (tours should pick you up at the hotel - it is so much more efficient and easy that way). All in all, San Francisco was the low point of our Pacific coast tour. We had a great time going from Seattle down the coast to San Simeon. Should have skipped San Francisco - and this review is from a Canadian. We are usually uncomplaining, friendly people. But not here - Canadians, stay away from San Francisco - too much stress!

good cruise it was cold so you do need a coat. the only thing i would say is that there was not enough seats and when the food was served the people upstairs were not told it was only when so one came upstair with food that we know.

I was first upset because I couldn't get on Alcatraz (you need to book weeks in advance) but I had the most patient, kind, and smart operator at your site who guided me. Loved the cruise. Thanks again!!

This was a great way to see the city. It was overcast and a tad choppy whilst on the boat but they had plenty of indoor seating and after a few drinks you dont mind braving the cold to get a few photos. There was more then enough food on board to have as your dinner and the staff were very friendly and always willing to have a chat and take a photo for you!

The sunset cruise was a very enjoyable part of our total experience in San Francisco. The boat was not overcrowded which allowed those on the cruise to walk around the boat to get the best view of sites without having to fight for the rail. The crew were friendly helpful and professional.

We enjoyed the cruise but the weather did not cooperate. It was so foggy you couldn't see the sunset or the Golden Gate bridge. The boat was comfortable, the food was great and we had a very nice time. We recommend this cruise, but take some warm clothing.

The views were wonderful, and I got some beautiful pictures, but it was rather windy and cold, so what was supposed to be a romantic cruise ended up with me on the deck taking pictures and my wife inside warming up! The food was decent, and the cruise was a nice addition to our honeymoon in San Francisco!

The views were spectacular! The food provided was good, but the real entertainment value was not in with the hors douvers! We has a terrific 'Captain' on our boat that pointed out lots of interesting information and facts from the top level. Those that remained inside missed the best part of the trip!
