Riding a Segway is similar to riding a bike - it's intuitive but nobody is born knowing how to operate it. On alternate days and nights the tour follows the Run for the Palace Route. This journey heads westward from the wharf area towards the Golden Gate Bridge. The start of the route is the same as the Waterfront Tour, but the Run for the Palace route then goes through the Marina District, past the Yacht Harbors, along the Marina Green and on to the Palace of Fine Arts.

REALLY FUN! The segways are a blast, but truthfully, it's the staff that makes this a five star recommendation. I don't usually go for such a "touristy" type of activity, and yes, there is a goofy factor you have to work through; but it's all quite worth it. Our guide was named Kennedy and she was especially good. She really made it fun. Even if you are local to SF, this is a great way to spend an afternoon. Tip: dress for 10 degrees colder than you might expect!

took the night time tour. was good - small group, great fun, good amount of time spent training before tour. friendly guide. disappointed about not getting more chance for photos on the segways and the ones taken by the company to go on the website were useless as no flash was used in the dark!

How much fun can you have! At first i was a little nervous about going on these, as i was afraid i may fall off. This once you try them is impossible. They were different to what i expected, as all moved by your own body movement. The guide and staff were really helpful, and very fun and informative as we went round the city. You have a little training session before heading out so that you can get use to them and feel safe. These are so much fun to go out on. If i had had more time in the city, i would have signed up for one of their other tours on offer. I have to get me one of these! Definatley recommended.

Fantastic way to see San Francisco! We checked out segway tours in some European cities and this was by far the most affordable. It would be suitable for all ages, we were in a really mixed group and I am a scardycat. A couple of people fell off (both human error) and the guide was very good with first aid, however, it made us feel the end of the tour was a bit rushed- think we missed out on a photo stop due to this. However, overall it was brilliant- a real highlight of our trip!

For a couple of middle aged cronies this was the best trip....if you take away our tandem bike ride other the GG Bridge.....We also had a great guide in Jack.....my wife kept saying "Jack said this and Jack said that". It was great fun on a Segway and fun way to see and hear the sights and sounds in San Francisco. I would recommend the tour and good old Jack......actually, a young Jack! Good value for money and probably the best experience for trying something new. We would do this again....maybe the advanced course!

Can't recommend this tour enough as it was absolutely amazing. The instructors give you an introductory lesson on how to use the Segway after which you're led around the streets of San Fran. The guide was extremely friendly and knew lots of useful tidbits about the places we went through. Including stopping for the best focaccia bread. Lots of fun that the time speeds by and you wish you could have the Segway for the whole day

I was a little worried about riding a segway, but our guide put everyone at ease and he was right, I got used to it within minutes. I have to admit that being on a machine, that did not have brakes was a little intimidating, but it was a piece of cake! My fifteen year old son thought this was one of the best things we did in San Francisco and I would agree. Our guide was funny and informative. I would recommend this for anyone, especially families as kids will have a blast.

It was a terrific experience. 1. The guide I appreciate the perfect service of the guide. Not being a native speaker, I had some difficulty in understanding the instruction. The trainer guide was super kind to gave me indivisual attention to check my comprehension in the usage of the vehicle. She was very knowlegable about the sights we visited and entertained us with great sence of humor. 2. I could enjoy the breathtaking scenery for three hours at a reasonable price. We actually had another of our party opt to join this activity and it was a real hoot. Worth the money from our point of view. My partner liked it so much that she wants to start a segway tour on our own Sunshine Coast. She reckons she can do it all day everyday . We even flt the instruction was a great bit of fun, but like all good things the actual tour seemed to be over waaaayyyyy too soon. Hey at 6k-8k per machine, the cost to do the tour comes into perspective. Also these are so great even Mall security cops across the USA and especially in Las Vegas, are using them.

This was one of the highlights of our stay in San Francisco. After the initial training which is simplicity itself we were then taken on a tour of the waterfront and bridge area. Our tour guide Geoff was excellent and very informative and the tour took about 2 hours. I would recommend this to everyone, young or old. Its great fun and excellent value.
