It's a good trip if you have 4 hours to spend and want to know some basic things about the City of San Jose, Costa Rica.

Viator uses multiple local companies. I failed to reconfirm several days before with their the other company and missed the tour. The tour company claimed they contacted my hotel, which I had never received. They refused to refund. If you don't reconfirm every single different company several days before while you are traveling, you lose money(no refund by company policy)!

The National Theater and Museum Tour were interesting. The tour seemed to criss-cross back and forth across the city (seeing the same surroundings 3 times). The last stop was at a jewelry shop which was not shown on the schedule, and we felt captive with the doors locked and a guard at the door. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The bus driver did not acknowledge anyone, or even look up when he was introduced.

Was just OK. Rain did not make it any better. Leave off trip to jewelry store.

A short but very effective way to get to know the capital of Costa Rica "San Jose". See the most known places with great tour guides. Great experience.

San Jose doesn't really have much to see. If you've only got a few hours this might be worth it, but if you have more time you'll want to do a tour outside of the city. Also, the tour guide was frustrating - the tour was bilingual and he spoke English well enough, but it was quite clear that the Spanish speakers were getting more than the English speakers.

Good tour for overall San Jose with a friendly guide. In some areas we stopped too long and in others, not long enough.

The tour was interesting and the guide very informative. We got a great overview of the city and it's history which helped us plan the rest of our week in San Jose.

First-time visitors might want to take this tour to get a feeling for the city. Historic sites visited were quite nice and the must-sees for San Jose. However, if staying in the area, they could be visited much more economically on ones own. San Jose is quite a compact city and local cabs are abundant. We were quite put off by the lengthy last stop at an upscale, but quite pricey gift shop at the far West end of the city that put us back at our hotel well after dark.

Nice, compact tour didn't really need the upscale gift shop at the end, but it was actually high quality.

Tour was certainly worth the money. Knowledgeable guide. Saw what there was to see. Far too much time spent picking passengers up and dropping them off at hotels. We were first on and last off, resulting in a lot of wasted time.

We didn't have the opportunity to stop many places and had very little time to visit the places where we did actually stop. We spent more time at the expensive souvenir shop than in the Museo de Oro.

The city tour gives you a good overview of the history and beautiful culture to be had. The guide was VERY knowledgeable about the bare facts, quirks, and flavor of the town and the country!
