Tour the extraordinary monuments, country mansions, magnificent museums, Romanesque and Baroque churches of the Galician Low Estuaries from Santiago de Compostela. Along the way, enjoy seafood dishes and delicious wine, promising something for everyone!

Your journey to the south of the Galicia region takes you past small towns such as Iria Flavia, an important Roman site, and Padron, a medieval town lying between the rivers Sar and Ulla. The town of Carril provides views of Cortegada Island, while Cambados is known for its amazing 16th-century Fefinanes Palace, and busy port and fish market.

Next stop is the up-market island of Toxa, home to the best hotels and spas in the region. The famous black soap known as La Toja is produced on this island. Lunch will be served at a typical restaurant in the beautiful seaside town of Sanxenxo.

After lunch, visit Combarro and its narrow medieval streets, granaries and stone crosses.

The last stop before returning to Santiago is the city of Pontevedra, the provincial capital, on the Lerez River. In this pretty city, a walking tour will take you to see St. Mary's, San Francisco and the Pilgrim Madonna churches.

Our guide, Christina, was wonderful. There were only two of us on the tour that didn't speak Spanish, but she made sure that we were included and translated everything for us. It was a nice, relaxing way to see the Galician Estuaries.
