Show Me Seattle!

Seattle, United States of America

A great introduction to Seattle! This sightseeing tour is perfect for people wanting to get out and experience Seattle for themselves, but just need a helping hand in finding some of those out of the way places. Uncover the highlights of this fascinating city as you travel through and around the many distinct neighborhoods and attractions.

On this exciting Seattle three-hour bus tour, you'll visit and learn about downtown Seattle, The Seattle Waterfront, Pioneer Square and witness some outstanding views of the city. You'll pass through quirky neighborhoods, visit the Ballard Locks with ladders for the spawning salmon, The Giant Bridge Troll, and the famous "Sleepless in Seattle" floating home. Each and every step is an experience not to be missed!

Downtown - There is a lot to see in Downtown Seattle, and the sights, due to the vibrant and growing nature of the city's core, are always changing. You will see downtown's retail stores, including the flagship stores of Nordstrom, Pike Place Farmer's Market, the first Starbuck's Coffee shop, and the Fish Markets.

The Waterfront - Seattle's Waterfront is an exciting place to go. Here, at the center of many of Seattle's water-based industries, you will see the freight port, Harbor Island and also the docks for the Washington State ferry system. Heading North along the waterfront past many souvenir shops, you'll see Ivars' Acres of Clams, and many other Puget Sound attractions. Finally you will head up to the beautiful Myrtle Edwards Park with its unparalleled views of Elliott Bay.

Pioneer Square - At the epicenter of Seattle, you'll find many of the oldest buildings in town, and also hear about the fire which, about a century ago, leveled the entire city. Pioneer Square is also home to many wonderful art galleries, antique and book stores.

We had a good time, the guide seemed to be very knowledgeable, but he did not articulate very well, so it was hard to understand him.

Quality tour guide! Saw most major sites. Should be taken at beginning of visit to Seattle, because it identifies key tour sites which could (and should) be visited with more time available.

We could have seen more and got out more to see. It seemed a bit rushed. Driver was concerned about the next tour in the afternoon and his schedule to keep.

The driver was well versed with the history of the city and the fact that we traveled in a small van it was easy to ask questions while driving. We were able to absorb a lot about Seattle in a relatively short time.

The guide had a lot to tell us in a short amount of time but was somewhat rude when travelers had questions. Another bus driver yelled at him to use his turn signals. The guide focused on the areas of most interest to him. We appreciated the tour, but for the cost and information mentioned above, when he held out his hand for a tip when we got off the bus, we left him empty handed.

A couple who did the same trip with a different driver said how good it was. They saw our driver and was not surprised by my comments. The driver was in love with himself, had learned his script but not knowledgeable otherwise. I stated that I was disabled and could not walk far when the trip was booked. He just strolled off with the passengers with no regard for anyone but himself. The trip is worth it, just get a good guide.

Disappointing. The tour guide was somewhat knowledgeable, but did not add to the experience. I had to call 3 times for my pick up which was very late and the driver circled back to pick me up and I missed the first part of the tour.

We had a pleasant driver, a lovely day, and a great drive around, but I really didn't get to grips with the city. The information was interesting, but I felt a little like I was being herded around. Once on foot I explored the city to a better effect. Try using the public transport system, it's great.

I would recommend this tour to every one. The only problem we had was seeing out of the tour bus as it had reflective windows which made it difficult to see or take photos. How ever our tour operator and driver was fantastic, very knowledgeable and extremely interesting to listen and talk to. She made our trip a real pleasure!

Starting off nearly 30 minutes late was not the best start. The guide had a good bit of interesting information and knowledge, which he dispensed with a lot of enthusiasm. It was quite obvious he was interested in many areas of his city and knows what's going on there. He had a good sense of humor. I thought we would see a bit more than just the common tourist sights, or at least more of them. I thought we would get at least a glimpse of Capitol Hill, the University District, etc., and information on good ways to find our own paths back. Also, we spent way too much time at the salmon ladders and the the locks. That was the guide's personal interest, not his customers'. This was also a pretty difficult stop for many of the older people on the bus, as well as the handicapped. It was the only restroom stop, but he did not announce that one was available, and many of the people who needed a bathroom were unaware that one was available. For those who could not do the steep walk up and down, the restroom was out of the question. A better stop should be planned that could accommodate everyone. None of our party of four loved this tour, and we felt we could have done as well on our own. We could have used the money for a nice lunch or dinner somewhere!

_strong_Note from Viator:_/strong_ We apologize that you did not enjoy the stop at the salmon ladders and the locks. Time and again our guests say that the visit to the locks and the fish ladder was the highlight of the tour. This is the only guided tour offering an escorted visit to these sights, providing knowledgeable and fascinating insight into the history and operation of the locks and the life cycle of the salmon and its importance in our region. As for the restroom stop, please note there is a 15 minute restroom and refreshment stop before arriving at the locks and fish ladder. There is another restroom at the locks, just below the parking area a few yards. _br /_ It is true that people with mobility issues may have a difficult time walking down from the parking area to the locks and fish ladder, depending on the severity of their issues. We recommend that anyone with mobility issues investigate the area for themselves to ensure that the area is accessible to them.
