Malaysia Johore Bahru Half-Day Tour from Singapore

Singapore, Singapore

The Johore Bahru Malaysia Half-Day Tour from Singapore starts with a visit to a handicraft center to observe batik painting. This is followed by a visit to Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque before arriving at a Kampong.

Drive across the causeway linking Singapore and Malaysia. After immigration formalities, we commence our tour of Johore Bahru with a visit to a handicraft center to observe batik painting. This is followed by a visit to Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque, a Moorish-styled mosque that is strategically positioned on top of a hill overlooking the Straits of Johore Bahru. Built in 1900 and is one of the most beautiful mosques in Malaysia, before arriving at a Kampong.

The final stop will be at a Muslim cemetery with a view from the exterior The Royal Mausoleum, an area where one can't help but appreciate the serene and tranquil atmosphere befitting a resting place for eternity. The Royal Mausoleum has been the final place for Royalty of Johore Bahru and the architecture is one of a fine, unique and aesthetic design of yesterday. From here proceed back to Singapore.

Felt rushed, not much to see. I was hoping for a demonstration of batik - maybe 30 seconds. Disappointed couldn't go into the mosque.

Just a short drive away, it would be a shame not to see it. Especially with a knowledgable, English speaking guide who knows this country and its posple. A day well spent!

This tour was OK. Unfortunately most of the time was spent clearing customs. Apart from that the tour was as described.

A very enjoyable half day trip to get an insight into another part of Malaysia. Our tour guide and coach driver were thoughtful and knowledgeable and spoke very good english. _br/_ The trip was good value for money and is recommended.

Departure on time, there was no delay on the immigration, but very short excursion in Malaysia itself. Unfortunately entry in the Abu Bakar Mosque is forbidden for non muslims so you can observe it only from outside

I hate to admit it that this trip was absolutely awful. From no guide and no explanation in Singapore to a terrible guide going to a ridiculous "village", which was nothing more than a store with bored dancers and nothing to offer. Then going to the outside of a mosque and driving through a graveyard before going to another store. What a waste of time, poorly planned, poorly organized and with the worst guide ever once we got to Malaysia...please avoid at all costs!!

A good trip. In a half day, there`s a large portion of time spent with immigration authorities, but we got a taste of Malaysia.

This trip gives a quick view of Malasia. Nothing exceptional, but suitable if you have little time to spare. What is annoying is that we had to call to verify whether this tour was going or not; better customer service would have been for the tour operator to call us / send an e-mail to confirm.

Overall, it was an informative trip. There is only one thing I disliked, the driver who picked us up had a very short temper and he was mumbling when we were late 10min in coming down from the hotel room. I hope these drivers should understand that we are traveling with kids that it is difficult to handle them and extend their patience to us.

I thought this was a great tour, despite the hassle of entering another country and all that it entails, customs, immigration etc. The guide was excellent, very informative and had a good sense of humour. It was stark contrast to Singapopre which made the whole experience that more enjoyable, highly recommend this trip.

The Immigration process took too long. The craft center is very small, you can only see the Mosque from outside and the farmers village didn't have any fruits._br/_ The passport stamp was worth it though.

Driver and tour guide were courteous and very informative. Going through customs was not a big deal and didn't take long. First stop to a batik shop was interesting...you can barter, don't take their prices at face value. Good items available. Next stop to Sultan Abu Bakar mosque was very interesting. Couldn't go in, but architecturally a beautiful place. Final stop at a 'modern village'...saw native plants, drank cocoa, watched pewter demo, short cultural dancing show, and of course shopping. Then back across the border with no problem. It was a good and informative half day trip into Malaysia and well worth the price.

Spend more time going through customs going to and returning from Malaysia than we spent in the country. Really disappointed with the amount of time this took, particularly on the SIngapore side where there is no system in place and they close counters at random making people waiting in that line to have to change to new counter at the end of the line!! Frustrating and not worth wasting half a day of your holidays!

The staff with the company that picked us up from the hotel were very good and imformative on both the singapore side and the Malay side of the trip, only down side was when we first set of and were taken to larger bus at meeting point to go from singapore to Jahore Bahru, one pasenger had not brought the piece of white paper with her passport to leave imigration on the Singapore border and was told that she would have to find a policeman when she got there and be processed for clearance, we therfore had to wait at imigration for an hour and a half for her taking time into the 5 hour trip waiting for her for this to be done, staff knowing that she did not have this document when we were still in Singapore should have told her to do the trip another day as it really was inconvenient to all other 20 odd people on bus . We booked this trip as we were departing Singapore that night and wanted to be back at hotel for an extended check out that they were good enough to give us, and as it was made it with 10 minutes to spare not the 2 hours we had arranged to have a shower etc, bit disapointing not Viators fault but tour company should have stressed to them that they needed this document on bookinbg trip, spoilt our plans as we were 2 hours late back On the poitive side we booked this trip with Viator over the internet before leaving Australia with every thing running smoothly will book more trips in April with them when we are in Italy, thank you for great service.

This tour is actually a learning curve in many ways. You travel to JB via the checkpoints to and from each country. You notice a difference instantly when you leave Singapore (clean) and arrive in Malaysia (rubbish everywhere). Your first stop is to visit a clothing factory that makes Batiks. Its very interesting although hot as. You have th chance to buy the real deal if you wish. Your second visit is to the Sultans Palace. Its a Muslim temple and on the day we were there, there was a few Muslims praying at the Mosque. Very traditional building and lots of architectural history to it. The final visit sees you visit a farm that pretty much about what Malays eat. Excellent references to this visit. And at the end of the farm visit, you can try real Cocoa that gives off chocolate. The fruit tea is also nice. The tour ends once you return to Singapore security check point and go back to your hotel. Its generally about history but would apply to all ages I think

the coach we travelled on was the best i have ever been on, just crossing the border into malaysia was enjoyable, the silk art was wonderfull and the home that we visited and took a walk walk around the garden was very intresting, the down side was the dancers looked as though they were thinking " here we go again" all in all a good short glimpse of the malay way.

The trip entailed two stops at sovenier shops and a stop at the mosque. The time interval at the first two stops was not at all controlled. It seemed that the guide was more focused on encouraging visitors to buy merchandize than giving a tour.

My only regret with regards to this trip is that it wasn't longer! Half a day was not really enough. It would have been nice to have been able to spend a whole day in the region and maybe see more of the buildings and perhaps visit the coast which was very pretty. The guide was extremely helpful, friendly, informative and the price of the trip was very reasonable. The hotel pick-up was also hugely appreciated!

Although the border formalities are time consuming, the visit to Johore Bahru was most interesting. I had a great and knowledgeable tour guide with a lot of great information to share, and a lot of pride in her country. It was a pleasure.

Short trip for four customs immigration changeovers. Took considerable time to make the four stops, not just two as we expected even though the lines were very short. Didn't realize either all of the shopping stops on this trip. Viator's description should make that clearer. There was one stop of quality in the 1/2 day trip. Audio equipment on this bus didn't work either. Vendor needs to get better equipment since hearing the guide is important on a tour!

It was ok considering it was just a half-day tour. It could have been better if the items for sale at the tourist destinations were not so expensive. They triple the price, which makes you feel that you are being ripped off.

We very much enjoyed the cross-border trip to Johore Bahru. Each of the three tour stops was interesting and well chosen. I was, however, astounded at the complexity of the border crossing process - but that is not the tour operator's fault.
