Singapore City Tour with optional Singapore Flyer

Singapore, Singapore

Get to know Singapore on a morning or afternoon half-day tour. You'll see all the city's highlights in one short tour perfect if your time is limited. Highlights include Singapore's vibrant Chinatown, colonial landmarks, Little India and the iconic, Merlion. You also have the option of combining your city tour with a 30-minute flight aboard the Singapore Flyer.

Your orientation tour of Singapore begins with a drive around the Civic District past the Padang, Cricket Club, Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall. You'll have great views of Marina Bay when you stop for photos at Merlion Park and the Merlion, Singapore's mythological creature that is part lion, part fish.

The tour continues with a visit to the Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples on Singapore island, then takes you into Chinatown to a local handicraft centre. Next stop is the National Orchid Garden, within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which boasts a colorful display of 60,000 orchid plants, with 400 species and more than 2,000 hybrids represented. The final stop at Singapore's Little India will entrance you with the heady scent of joss sticks, jasmine and spices.

There is an option to combine the Singapore City Tour with a spectacular 30-minute flight aboard the Singapore Flyer. Towering 165 meters above Singapore, the Singapore Flyer is the world's largest observation wheel and provides more than a view, it captures Singapore's magnificent skyline along with glimpses of neighbouring Indonesia and Malaysia. Please note, if taking the Singapore Flyer option your tour does not include hotel drop off, your tour ends at the completion of your Singapore Flyer experience.

Not sure about this tour, it was very rushed and the tour guide while well informed was pointing out sights from the bus as we had passed, very difficult to take photos from the bus when we had passed the attractions. Probably would recommend this tour. We managed to make our own way around with a map, taxi and help from the Hotel staff.

Pick-up worked very well. The tour itself started from Singapore flyer, were we changed from the minibus to a coach. It was an interesting tour to get a first impression of Singapore, so I can recommend it. But it was a little bit unpersonal, compared to my tours in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Chiang Mai, because the group was much bigger (25-30 people).

Our tour guide Maggie was great, funny and very informative about life in Singapore. The tour gave you a good overview of the city and the areas you might like to revisit with more time. Only suggestion would to be to eliminate the stop altogether at the precious rock shop and give more time to the gardens which were amazing or Little India or China town.

a recommended introduction for a first time visitor. You get to see many highlights of this interesting city, then you can take the on/off bus another day to spend more time at whatever interests you.

Trip was good although it rained (torrential) most of the afternoon. First stop to see the merlion - luckily we had seen it in the morning so when we got off the bus and it started pouring we headed back to the bus. Twenty minutes later about 30 folk appeared their clothes drenched and soaked to the skin! Next off to a factory showing jewellery, pictures etc - was ok. Next stop was the Temple which we walked round in 10 minutes - nice to see. Then on to the Orchard gardens, stunning flowers wish we had stayed longer than 25 minutes there, we rushed round it._br/_ Then those doing the Singapore flyer where given tickets for that. Worth doing - greata views.

A very interesting tour and our guide was both informative and amusing. The Orchid Garden was worth seeing . The Indian quarter was the least interesting part of the tour. Again very well organised

Not satisfactory._br/_ Trip started late. I had requested seat near entry as my brother is 72yrs with severe knee prob. That was not provided. All this was still ok but worse was our tour guide's attitude who point blank REFUSED to explain the significance of lion head of Merliion, just coz he had explained it while we were slow getting out of the bus due to my brother's knee issue !!! _br/_ In my 35+ yrs of travel I have never experienced such uncaring arrogance or attitude from a guide.

Not as good as expected from reading previous reviews. The tour started late. The tour guide was not interactive with the tourists only talking to us on the bus but not explaining sights when off the bus. We were only given a very stressful brief time to see each area and then it seemed to take ages to get back to the flyer. My suggestion in order to visit the sights seen is to skip Little India and the gem place and have more time at Marina Bay and the Botanical gardens. Too much was crammed into a few hours.

Very rushed but then we had a visit to a factory which was rather to long for us and rather boring. It was obviously meant to be a visit to buy things. Shame that the stop at the Orchid Garden/Botanic Garden was not longer as there was a lot to see. Well the Singapore flyer was NOT really worth the money. It took nearly 10 minutes to get to the Flyer cabin after having to go through an awful lot of promotional/touristy displays. I would not really recomend this trip as you don't see much of Singapore. we had a friendly Guide

Do add the flyer to the trip - it is a must and it is cheaper to add it to the city tour than to buy a separate ticket @ $29. The city tour was crowded as it was a very big group and two buses were used.

The tour was well, but I wanted to visit Chinatown as it was included on the description but we just visited one temple and pass along the quartier border with the bus._br/_ Instead of visit it, we went to a Gem Gallery that was not included on the planning and on which I wasn't interested._br/_ All the rest, good enough! But just for the reason you can go from one place to the other by bus, not taking metro and any other way, but they don't explain anything about the places you visit, just leave you 20 minutes on each place and that's all.

We didnt think the places we visited were too exciting exept for Marina Bay. Especially we didnt see the point of the visit to the stone factory. Since the temple in China Town was under construction you should have found another place to take us in that area._br/_ And the buses should be open instead of closed roof.

This was the first thing I did in Singapore and I would strongly recommend it to everyone! I got a great idea of where everything was in the city and visited many of the main Singapore attractions. Our guide was fantastic, so enthusiastic and gave great information about what it is like to live in Singapore, instead of just talking about the attractions. It is a great way to see the city and go to a lot of places in a short amount of time. If you are only there for 1 or 2 days, or even if you are there for a week, it is a great introductory tour to a wonderful city. Very glad I chose to do it!

Good overview of different parts of the city centre taken at quite a fast pace but very helpful in that if you wanted to explore further you would know where to go. The orchid garden was wonderful and a trip to the Botanic Gardens is a must if I am lucky enough to visit Singapore again.I took the flyer option and enjoyed a unique view from high above the city. It was easy to get a taxi back to the hotel as they stop right outside the flyer.

The bus tour was a good orientation of Singapore, though the ride in from the airport would rival any city in the world for its beauty and tidyness. All the bouganvillea flowers were out and were a magnificient sight. The Singapore Flyer was a worthwhile experience.

Great city tour, you get to see most of Singapore. Be aware of the humidity, it can get bad at times. Only problem was at the end the driver had to drop everyone off back to their hotels. We were the last & it took nearly an hour.
