St. Barts Ferry Transfer from St. Martin

St Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

Spend a day experiencing the beauty of the untouched white sandy beaches and stunning snorkeling areas that St. Barts has to offer! Explore the island at your own leisure, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and gorgeous surroundings. Although small, this island has a lot to offer!

St. Barts is known as the Jewel of the Caribbean and you'll find out why when you sail there from St. Martin! You'll have free time to explore St. Barts independently, take a guided tour, go shopping or just relax on one of the island's pristine beaches.

St. Barts is just a 45-minute sail from St. Martin's Pelican Marina. Departing Simpson Bay, you'll arrive in Gustavia Harbor, the hub of activity in St. Barts. Sidewalk cafes offer crepes and croissants for breakfast, car rentals meet the boat, the taxi stand is a few feet away, and boutiques are open for business.

The exceptional island of St. Barts has white sandy beaches, great snorkeling locations, great restaurants and a unique shell museum. It's a day guaranteed to entertain, crammed with sights and delights!

Enjoy lunch at a local burger shack, or go for fine dining at one of the exclusive beachside hotels. Many of the shops in Gustavia may close over the lunchtime period, so it's recommended to go shopping in the morning.

Taxi island tours cost around US$12 per person, or privately for around US$50 for two. Check-in for the boat is at 3:45pm for the 4:00pm departure. Arrive back to Pelican Marina at approximately 4:45pm.

There is a free shuttle to Pelican Marina, Tuesday through Friday only, from the following hotels:
Caravanserai
Sonesta Maho
Royal Islander / La Terasse
Towers
Sapphire
Bellair
Divi Little Bay

The trip over was awful; real rough. People were getting sick everywhere; I didn't but thought I was listening to everyone else. The staff was great. Taxi tour was expensive. Really loved the island; but once was enough.

Our St. Barts day trip was a waste of time and money! Shopping is only high-end, food was outrageous, and the people on the island were not friendly! Spend your money on something else!

The day trip to St. Barts was fun. The ferry captain and staff did a good job. My only complaint is that Viator advertised the trip as leaving at 8:00 a.m. and it did not leave until 9 a.m. Since we were staying on the French side of the island, it was aggravating to discover we hustled very early to get there "on time" only to find that the time was wrong. Please check that.

While St. Barts was not to my liking, I have no complaints about the service that was provided for the transfer. We were lucky enough to have a calm day for traveling so no one had issues with motion sickness. One note of caution though. All trips arranged with this provider have a listed departure time almost an hour before the boats actually go out. A listed 8am departure typically has check-in until 8:15, and than the company has the next 45 minutes to handle port and/or immigration issues, while you sit at tables or on stairs. Bring some entertainment for that part of the trip.

Crossing was rough going over and OK coming back. Do not know why but this is the general pattern. Could do with more time on the island since most stores are closed 12-3 or 1-4 and most Wednesday afternoons. Beautiful island and very French. Expensive!!

Beware of the rough ride. They don't tell you how rough it is until you get on the boat. St. Barts is an absolutely gorgeous place, a definite must-see!!!!

We saved on this trip because at the time we booked it cost 50 and by the time we went it was 65. The boat crew directed us to 2 nice beaches that you had to rent a car or take a cab to. We ended up going to Shell Beach which is in walking distance and it was gorgeous. Can't tell you about the other 2 we missed out on but it was still worth the trip. We had lunch at Do Brazil right on Shell Beach and it was delicious with a beautiful atmosphere. We bought souvenirs at one of the shops in Gustavia where the lady was friendly and gave us a good exchange rate for the Euro some places were the complete opposite. I recommend not settling for the first shop you see. I also recommend bringing Euros, which we didn't.

St. Barts has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Prices on the island are pretty high so we spent most of our time on the beach.

We had a rough passage going over, and five people got sick. Most of the stores were closed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the siesta.

The trip was extremely rough on the way over to the island. Many passengers got sick. The experience wasn't that pleasant. On the island, if you can't speak French, forget about it. And you have to make sure you bring plenty of money because a bottle of water or a juice is 3-4 dollars US. The driving was horrible with the hills and sharp hair-pin turns. When we finally arrived at the beach by the airport, we couldn't believe how clean the beach and water was. It is definitely the best beach I have ever been to. The scenery was fantastic.

St. Barts is absolutely beautiful. After the tour the driver left us by St. Jeans beach, which was gorgeous and very close to shopping. A must-do trip - the operator was great.
