The Southern Swan is beautiful ship, with a wonderful crew. Sailing quietly around Sydney Harbor was magical with all of the buildings kit up. the food was very good and very plentiful and I felt it was an excellent value.

I have to say this didn't live up to my expectations - I envisaged, right or wrong a romantic 'mini cruise' with perhaps 20 or 30 on board and was looking forward to a hearty aussie barbie. The reality was the boat was crowded with 60+ - trying to sit was impossible because of that and as a result we managed a chicken on a stick, a sausage and a bit of salad between us. The boat, in my opinion was underlit - a few more lights wouldn't go amiss. On the plus side the crew were very good. Overall I would have to say it was one of the poorer experiences of my time in sydney.

Really enjoyed our cruise - the ship, the food, the staff and most of all the scenery around dusk. It was great, even though it rained a little. Only bad point was having to re-confirm the Viator tickets when in Sydney, which was a hassle and we could have done without.

Having previously used Viator I arranged for my parents to go on this trip during their holiday in Australia. Unfortunately they were very disappointed as it did not live up to the website expectation. Per the web they expected to watch the sun set over Sydney Harbour, however the sun was already setting as they departed hence the views of Sydney Harbour were during darkness. They were also surprised to find very little lighting on the boat and could not see what food was served on the barbecue or find anywhere to sit and eat it. All in all they viewed this as the low light of a fantastic holiday to Australia, a massive shame for me as I booked this for them as a Christmas present.

The worst!!!!!!! the ship was almost an hour late leaving due to some mix up for wharf space, Gourmet dinner - HA! the food was FAIR - prawns with their heads still on that we had to eat in the dark and no room to eat your food. 2 hour harbor cruise - HA! - sailed out for 1/2 hour, sat in the harbor for an hour while everyone ate- then sailed back to the dock - ship was dark (no lights) and WAY OVERCROWDED. - What a tourist trap that was

Despite being sprayed by Sydney's 'scattered showers' we thoroughly enjoyed our twilight tall ship experience. A double rainbow over the Opera House was a bonus! The food was very tasty, the crew very friendly, helpful and efficient. We even made new friends and exchanged contact details with them. I will consider taking it again in summer.

The cruise was disappointing by our standards. We decided to sign up for the cruise dinner after reading excellent reviews about it. But we had to adjust our expectations while on board, in order for it not to spoil the evening for us. _br/_ In order to make sure that our review is fair, we'll put up the things that we liked, and those we didn't, so that everyone can judge for yourself before you sign up. _br/_ Things we liked: _br/_ 1. Nice design and age of ship_br/_ we are able journey back many years to the time this ship was built. It stands out among all the ships at the harbour.

Fastastic evening. The crew were so freindly and helpful. There was loads of food for everyone and the canapes before and sweet pastries after were a lovely touch. There was a good choice at the bar and you never had to wait long to be served. The drinks arent over priced at about $6 each but If you plan on having a few the unlimited wristband for $20 is good value. The boat was quite busy but everyone did have a seat.

Weather fantastic so enjoyable experience with information about the ship from the crew. It was lovely to be out on the water with the engine off and sails billowing. Barbecue food good if not stunning and plenty of photo opportunities before arriving back after the sun had set.

We were unlucky enough to strike a wet day. Before boarding we were given the opportunity to come back another day. As we were already wet we decided to board. Worked in our favour as half the passengers decided to try again another day. The crew were fantastic very obliging and talkative. Food was good and there was plenty of it especially as we had less passengers than had been catered for. Plenty of room with the 30 passengers on board. Would hate to be on when they had a full compliment ( I think that is 70 - 80 people) You wouldn't be able to move. Fortunately the rain did stop but the wind not strong enough to fill the sails. Ship was a wonderful example of a bygone era. It appeared to be well maintained. We were really glad to have this experience. Would be a great experience for overseas visitors. A lovely way to see some of our wonderful Sydney Harbour

A lovely evening. The crew were really friendly and created a great atmosphere. Food was good, not fancy but nice enough for a light supper. We thoroughly enjoyed our unique cruise evening on this lovely old ship - it has so much more character than the run-of-the mill motor cruisers in the harbour.

The boat had about 20 more people on board than it should have in my opinion. It was raining when we left and there was not enough space that was covered for everyone to get out of the rain. They offered to sell us cheap plastic ponchos for $1 a piece, as if we hadn't already paid enough for this crappy tour. The food was just alright, but they had the buffet set up below deck in space that was almost pitch black dark until finally someone figured they ought to turn some lights on. The really didn't go anywhere that one would want to see that you couldn't see from shore. Overall, it was a waste of money and I couldn't wait for it to be over.

They took our booking months before, but then changed the day of sailing at the last minute - had to juggle our other holiday plans to do it. Staff could be better trained - most were holidaying from overseas, and had simply volunteered for the experience. Gorgeous people though. It was raining, but that didn't dampen it too much, but the lunch sailing would be better if raining. Didn't really get the feel that we were actually "sailing". In fact, we only "sailed" for a very small time. A sign for "Tall Ship" at the dock would have helped us find the pick up point better. (There are no signs, and the ship doesn't berth there - just sails in to pick up there.) Food was nice, and they are very helpful and accommodating about allergies. We enjoyed our sail, but mainly because of meeting some great fellow sailors. They booked through "scoupon" or something, and got a very good rate at $45 each. We thought our experience a bit ordinary at $84.50 each. We don't mean to be critical at all - just want to pass on a review of our experience to intending sailors. Would we recommend? Perhaps, but don't expect it to be the highlight of your holiday.

The actual cruise was not as initially stated although we did get a small discount due to this. There was no live music - not sure where it would have been anyway as no room. Food was ok. Had we had to pay for the drinks got them free eventually due to no live music and only 2 hour cruise not 2.5hrs as stated would have been expensive. Staff were polite and helpful and we were able to assist with hoisting and dropping flags. Given a talk about the ship and explained where things were but could not hear over the engine noise. Unfortunatly there was not much wind so had to use the engine to get back!
