You'll circle Mt. McKinley and traverse the Alaska Range twice. There is no better way view the remote regions of the park. See active gold mines, Kahiltna base camp, where the climbers begin their ascent and the Wickersham Wall of McKinley, the steepest continual vertical relief in the world. Your flightseeing trip begins at the unique hexagonal log building in Talkeetna, a small Alaskan town big on character and rich in history, located about 115 miles (185km) north of Anchorage.
After meeting your pilot/guide, you'll be seated comfortably in one of the ski-equipped aircrafts and provided with voice activated headphones which allows conversation between passengers and pilot. Everyone has a window seat. As you set out to the mountains, your pilot will describe the history and geology of the area and point out gold mining areas and wildlife.
Glacier Landing Add On: Land on a glacier at the base of Mt. McKinley and experience the excitement of standing among the great peaks, the immense scale will astound you.
