Laura was an excellent guide and coped well with recalcitrant staff at the Doge's Palace. It's a really interesting place, especially the range of sights it offers - colourful and grand rooms, prison cells, the bridge..... However, it would be much better to pay for everything up front, instead of this messy additional entry payment.

Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I wasn't as impressed with the palace as I thought I would be. It had nothing to do with the tour. Make sure you read about the Doges Palace before you book to make sure it is something you really want to see.

The description of this tour is incorrect as we thought we were walking around other parts of Venice but it is just a 2 hour tour of the Doges Palace. The tour guide was excellent but having paid online with Viator we did not realise we had to also pay for the entrance fee into the Doges Palace which was €13 each, the same as we would have paid on the door if we had done it ourselves. I am not sure therefore why we had to pay Viator £20 each before we went. Overall it was not worth the jump the line fee which I'm assuming the £20 each was for as there was no queue anyway and we could have had our own pre - recorded guide from the Palace.

I was very disappointed in this tour. I was led to believe that it included the underground passage ways and Casanova's cell, but then was told that it did not. There was another family on this tour who also thought these sections were included too. So, when we all booked it, the description was very misleading. The tour guide was very good and knowledgeable, so the actual tour was fine, but it did not include these additional areas. Since we had scheduled the tour late in our stay in Venice, we were unable to re-visit the palace and see the other sections we had hoped to see.

I was disappointed in this tour as I found the advertisement to be misleading. The "walking tour" was the tour of the Doges Palace only. This should be called "Walking Tour OF the Doges Palace not WITH! My group thought we would also have a walking tour of Venice. This tour also promotes that you will see things that you would otherwise not see on other tours which is not true. Any one touring the Palace saw the same things. And the "inquisition" has nothing to do with the Catholic church.

We did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised by the Doges Palace. The instructoins were not clear so we missed the morning walk. The instructions appeared to give us an option of a morning tour and afternoon tour, when in fact the moring is the walk and the afternoon is the palace.

The tour was very informative, with a pleasant guide who knew her stuff, but it wasn't what I thought it would be. I was expecting to see Casanova's cells and hear details about his daring escape. It turned out that I was in the wrong tour. I should have booked for the "secret tour," which must be reserved weeks in advance. To prevent people from making the same mistake, please warn them on your website that you're NOT doing the SECRET TOUR.

This tour was very interesting and informative. We had a good guide who was really knowledgeable. Couldn't see it all as the palace is massive but saw all the important parts. Was time at the end to stay and go back if you liked.

We were very disappointed with this tour. It was not a venice walking tour, we only toured the Doges Palace. The tourguide did not give any background information or historical acccount of wwho the Doges were. It was more like an architectural tour. We had no idea about the relavance of the palace, who were the Doges, what was their role in society, etc. We found out that this same guide gave a walking tour of Venice in the morning and in that morning tour she explains all of the stuff that we were missing. So this tour should be titled "Continuation of morning tour" or something like that because the current title is misleading.

The tour would be fine for history and government buffs but we found it dry and boring. I don't know how much of that was the fault of the guide and how much was that the Doge's palace has no furniture. We spent most of the time looking at walls and ceilings.
